The little swamp house

We stepped outside of Alpha jerk’s office, seeing Ava was waiting for us in the hallway. She tilted her head as her eyebrows rose high on her forehead. She was ready to throw a fit, I could tell. I just laid my arm around her waist as I kissed her on her temple and gently pulled her along with me. “Let’s go, my little asskicker.” I whispered as I pulled her with me. She giggled at my remark and seemed to calm down on the spot of our body contact. Thank you, strong mate bond! Another thing I loved about living inside the Denali pack, men worshipped their mates, women were treated as equal. I knew that a lot of packs didn’t do that and she-wolves could be treated horribly in some cases even. My mind took me back to the pack of the lost boys half a year ago, when some of our rogue wolves would kidnap women and keep them as their 'pets', to do with them what they wanted, when they wanted it. Something I had never been able to do myself, and I thanked my lucky stars for not doing it either. This girl in my hands right now was worth all the waiting. I was no saint, and neither was Ava. But still, this all felt like many ‘firsts’ that we could share together as mates. And even though she wasn’t my first, she would be my last, my best and everything in between. And I knew she felt the exact same way about me. Two guards were already waiting for us outside, as one of them looked up at me. “Where do you want to go?” I gave the guard the piece of paper that the Alpha had given me. He took a quick look at the written address on it and nodded, he stepped away as we followed him back into the wilderness. It was a ten-minute walk, guiding us through trees and stepping over small wooden pathways to stay clear of any potential wild animals lingering in the tall grass. There seemed to be fewer and fewer houses here than there were in the beginning when we had entered the Voda Pack. I also spotted water between the trees, we were getting close to the lake. It didn’t look like the water I had remembered as a child. That thought made me feel anxious. Did my vision maybe change over the years? The two guards in front of us walked over to a small house situated the furthest to the back. The guard who had taken the piece of paper from me turned to face me as he pointed at the little house. “That’s the one. We will be waiting outside to give you some privacy. You have thirty minutes.” I nodded as I stepped towards the house. It was built in all wood, standing on big pillars to keep it away from the swamp water or wild animals. Which was probably for the best, you wouldn’t want to wake up to an alligator at your toes in the morning. We made it towards the door as I took in a big breath. Well, here goes nothing! I knocked at the door as I heard a woman’s voice from the inside yell. “Coming.” The door went open and a woman was standing at the door opening. She had brown curls, just like me, with blue eyes that were so light colored they almost vanished next to the white of her eyes. Her eyes glared open as she looked at me, her mouth opening as she turned to look inside. “Dale!” She yelled, hearing footsteps coming to the door. The woman turned to look back at me as she placed her hand in front of her mouth, when a man came into view as he stood next to his wife. The man looked at me as a frown formed on his face. “Sebastian? Is that you?” Wait, what? I looked closer, and then I saw it. The faces around those eyes had aged, but then I remembered, these eyes had looked at me filled with love. Once, when I was a child, these were my parents. I had found them! Holy f*****g hell! “Hi mom, dad.” I sighed, as I felt myself getting dizzy. My mother started screaming as her arms flew around me, while feeling my father’s arms come around me as well. Holy f*****g hell! I had found them! My dad stepped aside as my mother dragged me inside of the house. I looked around and everything inside this place just clicked in my head, every inch of this house suddenly looked familiar, this had been my home. I looked back, staring at Mason, who was just smiling at me as he nodded. “Oh my Goddess, son, what on earth happened to you?” My mother cried on my shoulder as she was still not letting me go. My father came to stand next to me again. “Who took you? We went and searched for you, but we couldn’t find you anywhere.” I shrugged as I looked at him. “I don’t know, they had me in the trunk of a car, one day they got attacked by rogues, they took me in.” My mother sobbed as she looked at me. “Rogues?” I nodded as I pressed my lips together. “They took care of me mom. Nothing happened.” My father looked at Mason and Ava. “Are you rogues too?” Ava gave my father a gentle smile while Mason shook his head. “No sir, we are pack members of the Denali pack. I am the Gamma, Seb is the Beta.” My father looked at me with pride booming from his eyes. “Sebastian, Beta?” I smirked as I nodded. “That is Ava, she is my mate.” My mother yelped as she turned her head to see my love. She ran over to her and caught her in a big hug. “Thank you for looking out for my son.” She cried as Ava looked up at me, her eyes filled with love. “Charlotte! Come down and have a look.” I looked at my father. Charlotte? It rang a bell, but then again, it seemed like a blur. I never realized until now, how much I had blocked out from my old life until now. “Charlotte?” I asked my father. He looked at me as he laid his hand on my shoulder. “Your sister, don’t you remember her? She was 6 when you were taken.” My mother turned to look at me again, still holding on to Ava. “That night that they took you from us, she had a nightmare and was in bed with us because she was scared. I really believe that they wanted to take both of you, but they failed when they saw Charlotte wasn’t in her own bed.” I swallowed as I heard a door close. “What’s all the noise about?” I heard a soft voice calling out, as she came into view. And when I saw her, I knew. Brown, long hair, the same color as mine but she didn’t have any curls. Looking at it, I could tell I had my mother’s hair and Charlotte our father’s. She had the same brown eyes as me. She had grown up but I could still see the little rascal that I used to bicker with all the time. I stepped over to her, as I pulled her in for a hug, remembering everything like it was yesterday. “Seb?” She sobbed once as her fingers clawed at my tshirt. “Hey Charlotte.” I whispered back. After a big hug, I pulled back to look at her. She was staring at me with the biggest eyes I had ever seen. And all of a sudden, her gaze shifted over my left shoulder, as I heard her gasp for air. I turned as I followed her eyes, seeing that she was looking at Mason, who’s green eyes were about to fall out of his head as he was smiling vibrantly at my sister. “Mine!”
