The Voda pack

1294 Words
The bald man drove us a good ten minutes into the wilderness, before houses started to pop up out of nowhere. A whole civilization was built here, smack in the middle of nowhere in between swamps and wilderness. I couldn’t help but look around. All the houses seemed the same, except for two huge buildings rising out from the ground. “Do you have two pack houses?” Mason asked Baldy, whose eyes were still on the road as he hadn't spoken a word during the drive. “One is the pack house, the other one is the Alpha’s house.” I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes as I looked at the massive thing. Ok, This Alpha is one of those assholes who thinks he’s better. and more than everyone else. Baldy parked his car as he turned to look at us. “The Alpha will see you now, he is in his office. Enter the house and the first door on your right will bring you to him.” I nodded while Mason thanked the driver, before the three of us stepped out into the Florida heat and humidity. I took Ava’s hand as we walked up to the house. *Could you imagine Kai and Sienna living in one of these?* Mason smirked at me as he looked up at the 4-story building. *No,* I linked back at Mason *Sienna would never agree to this to begin with.* Mason shrugged as he gave me a quick look. *What if the Luna doesn’t get a voice with this Alpha?* I sighed, knowing that this would probably be the case. We walked inside a majestic entrance hall. The inside was completely different from the outside, which looked like a plain concrete box. The inside, however, looked as if it came out of an old movie about knights and princesses. Marble tiles were laid in a black and beige pattern, reaching for a massive dark wooden staircase which went up to the first floor. An open door showed a massive dining room, with one door to the right, which was still closed. I nodded at the door as Mason stepped over and knocked on it. The next second, it was opened by a female wolf, who looked all sorts of scared at us. Her gaze shifted towards the ground as she stepped back, letting us pass inside of the office, while never making eye contact. The walls inside the office were dark purple, almost brown, with a massive dark wooden desk that was standing in the middle of the room, with an even bigger wooden closet behind it, holding books and some statues. It was only then that I noticed the guy sitting behind the desk, looking at us like he was ready to kill us on the spot. He had short dark hair, which was combed to the side with probably an immense quantity of hair gel. His eyes were a dark brown, almost as dark as our Alpha Kai’s. He had a sharp jawline and was smoothly shaven. I could see that girls would call him attractive, but despite the fact that he had a murderous look on his face, I already knew our Alpha Kai could kick his ass every day of the week. Be friendly, He may know something… I sighed as I stepped forward and reached out my hand at him, trying to come off as friendly. “Good day Alpha. I am Seb, Beta of the Denali pack, it is a pleasure to meet you.” I could see the man biting on his teeth as his jaw clenched together. But after looking at my hand, he stood up and reached out his hand as well. “Alpha Brandon of the Voda pack. Please, sit.” He pointed at two seats, before looking at Ava. “The she wolf can wait outside.” He spoke calmly, without looking at her again. I turned around as Ava had one of her famous looks on her face, the one that screamed excuse-me-you-want-me-to-kick-your-ass-right-now look. I winked at her. *Wait outside love, this one is clearly old fashioned.* She rolled her eyes as she stepped out without saying a word. *Better kick his ass well if you need to, or I will do it for you.* I had to fight off the urge to laugh at my mate’s mind link. And focused on the task at hand, as I looked at the Alpha, who seemed to be studying me this whole time. “So, what brings you to the Voda pack?” He asked, leaning back in his chair. “We are searching for a pack which houses witches or wizards. I was told that you knew something about that.” The Alpha pulled up his eyebrows as he looked at me in wonder. “And who gave you this information?” I shook my head at him. “No names, just info we came across while travelling.” The Alpha sighed as he scratched his head. “Why do you need to know this? Why are you searching for witches or wizards?” I looked at the man, who seemed to lack any sign of kindness or compassion. “Because as a young child, I was taken in the middle of the night, kidnapped out of my house and away from my pack. All I remember is water and a wizard, so we are now searching for packs who have both of them, hoping we can find my family again or at least someone who has an answer to point me in the right direction.” The Alpha looked at his lap, studying his fingers before he looked up at me again. “We do have one wizard here, but he is not allowed to use his magic on my land. Only in case of danger or when he is asked to do so by me.” My heart skipped a beat at his words. “Would you mind if we would pay this wizard a visit? We will be quick, if the man is not who we are looking for, then we will be on our way again.” The Alpha pushed his chin in the air, as if he was smelling if there was fear drifting around in the air, which was not. The guy looked like a total jerk, he didn’t intimidate me at all. “And what if this is the guy that you are searching for? I don’t appreciate unknown wolves coming onto my land and taking away my wizards from me.” I shook my head at him. “We just want a conversation, we have no meaning at all to take someone away from your pack Alpha.” The Alpha nodded as he took out a small piece of paper and a pen. “Alright, you have thirty minutes. This is the address. I will send two guards with you to assist you on your way. If the man is not who you are searching for, then I want you out of here by tonight. Do I make myself clear?” I just kept looking at the little jerk, what was he? 30 years old? He had some nerve, talking like he owned the place. Well, actually he did, but still, Don’t be a jerk about it. I nodded as I stood up. Mason followed me without saying a word. “Thank you for your time, we will not disturb you anymore.” The Alpha nodded as he turned his chair to face his computer. And without saying another word, me and Mason walked out of his office. *What an asshat* Mason linked at me, and I nodded. *Yup, an elite asshat.*
