RYAN
“Let’s see what you have here,” I say snatching the paper from her hand. I look at her schedule and kind of overreact. Kind of.
She notices my expression and asks, “Is something wrong?”
“Darling! Do we even have these subjects?” I ask her.
Alex shrugs her shoulders. “First- Yes those subjects exist. And second- we already talked about those names,” she says closing her eyes.
“Sorry,” I put my hands up in surrender. She opens her eyes and snatches the paper out of my hands.
“But that’s too much! How are you gonna make it to all of them?”
“I’ll manage. It’s better than getting bored.”
“You won’t be bored when I’m around,” I say smirking.
She rolls her icy blue eyes at me. “Are we gonna have all the world’s talk standing fixated at this place?”
I look around and realize that we haven’t moved even a step after Janet left. Students are still staring at her. Well she’s worth staring.
“So what do you have first?” I ask putting my hand on her shoulders, escorting her out of there.
“English, then I have math, and then Spanish, and then-” I stop her rant. “Let’s get through the first one first.” She nodded her head in approval.
“So which way do we go?”
I looked at both the sides of the hallway and decided to take the longest route. I wanted to talk to her, to know more about her. But where there’s a red flag, there’s a bull to charge.
“This way Alex,” Janet removes my hand from Alex’s shoulder as she gets in between us. To think that I was gonna have a good couple of minutes with Alex. All in the gutter now. Janet turns back and smirks at me. I wish I can butcher this girl right now.
I walk behind them keeping a good distance so as not to pounce on Janet. I glare at her boring holes into her head but I couldn’t keep that up for long when I remembered. s**t! s**t, s**t, s**t! We’re going the same way Eva set the trap in for Janet. As I’m about to yell at them to stop it happens.
A cloud of white bursts through space as a bunch of girls run away like hell. Janet shielded Alex and herself from it by putting her right arm up. People were coughing and sneezing as the lime powder invades their nostrils. I rushed immediately towards them waving the dust away in front of me. Both of them stood crouched with Janet covering Alex.
After the dust almost settled down, entered Eva; my evil sister. “Oh my! What happened here?” Eva asked in her fake worried voice. Janet stood up straight revealing her half white caked face. Eva and her friends burst out laughing when they saw her like that. Janet glared at her.
“You did it didn’t you?” Janet’s voice seethed with anger.
Eva stopped laughing and batted her eyelashes, “No hon, why would you think that?”
“I can see through you b***h. You did this and I know it,” Janet screamed at her.
Eva got close to Janet stooping down to her ear, “If you know then you shouldn’t have messed with me little girl.” She backed away smirking at her. Laughing and giggling the three of them left the spot heading the other way. Students stood there laughing at her.
Janet stood there dumbfounded, close to crying. She was shaking with anger. That’s when Alex spoke up, “Janet, can you take your jacket off?” Janet looked at Alex with water filled eyes. Alex smiled at her and gave her the urging look to do what she said. Confused as she was Janet started to take her jacket off.
“Wait!” Alex put up her hand and stood a little farther. She handed me her books she bent down to shake the little powder that she had on her head. Boys standing behind her looked at her butt lustfully. Protectively I stood behind her blocking the view. Looking down I saw what a nice ass she had. Stop thinking like that!
After standing up straight she looked at Janet and said, “I want you to take off your jacket carefully. There’s a lot of powder on your back.” Janet tried to look over her shoulder. Alex got behind her and said, “Just stretch your hands back I’ll help you.”
Janet did as she was told. Alex took off the jacket swiftly without spilling much of the powder. “Ryan! Can you bring me a bottle of water? She needs to wash her face,” she asked politely looking at me. I asked around for a bottle of water. “Take this,” she handed me a tissue packet from her back pocket, “Clean her up.” “Let’s go to the washroom,” Janet suggested. “No! We need to do this here,” she ordered.
After her face was cleaned up Alex pulled Janet close to her and whispered something into her ear. I being the person I was wanted to hear what she was saying.
“…you know them so they will cooperate.”
“B-but..”
“No buts Jane. Just make sure to say something that will make her run. Now go!”
Janet turns back and runs away to the office. I look at Alex confused having no idea what these girls are up to. I could see glints of mischief as her lower lip tucked under her upper lip making her look like a mischievous toddler. I furrowed my brows in amusement at her and was going to ask what she was doing when it was announced, “Eva Manchester, report to the principal’s office right now. I repeat Eva Manchester report to the principal’s office right now.”
Students started gossiping loudly. I face planted in my head. This b***h! If she drags me down with her I’ll kill her. What Eva did may have reached the principal’s ears. I turned around at the sound of someone running. I saw Eva and her little bitches running behind her, fear evident on their faces. I was sure that the consequences were not going to be good if Aunt Cecile knows about this.
As I was standing there looking at the little parade of my sister and her soldiers I was jerked forward which led to the bottle of water slipping out of my hands. The floor was loitered with water and as I was about to yell at the person who pushed me Eva along with her minions went sliding on the floor landing on their asses. I stare at them wide eyed when Alex dusted the jacket letting all the white powder land on Eva.
“What the…fuck!” Eva yelled at the top of her voice spitting out powder out of her mouth. Alex stopped flinging the jacket and looked down. “Oh! What happened here?” she said mimicking Eva’s words.
“One of you did this, didn’t you b***h!” Eva screamed at Janet and Alex. Her face and hair were caked with the powder. Students were standing on the side laughing at them.
“No, no, no. She didn’t do anything! Why would she do that?” Alex said shaking her head with enthusiasm and handed Janet her jacket back. She moved forward and sat on her feet in a hunched position as she said in a low voice, “It was me hon. I did it.” Eva looked at her with bloodshot eyes as if she was going to drain all the blood from her body right there on the spot.
“You don’t know me b***h! If you knew you wouldn’t dare do that,” Eva threatened her. She started dusting off. At that Alex moved closer to Eva and said with a big smile, “And if you knew me you wouldn’t have pulled the stunt earlier.”
I don’t know why but her voice made my bone shudder. She stood up smirking and turned to me. She took her books from my hands and asked, “Are you gonna show me the class or what?” I nodded a yes at her when she turned around and walked away with Janet. We were all stood there shocked, in a trance when it was announced, “Sorry, Eva Mongoria please report to the principal’s office. I repeat again, Eva Mongoria report to the principal’s office.” And with that I walk away not before giving Eva a pathetic look.
