The Boy Who Could Fly

Leo loved the sky more than anything else in the world. Every afternoon after school, he climbed the grassy hill behind his house and watched the clouds move slowly across the bright blue sky. While other children played games or watched television, Leo spent hours dreaming about magical worlds hidden above the clouds. One evening, the weather suddenly changed. Cold wind blew through the trees, and dark clouds covered the sun. Leo looked up and noticed a strange blue light moving across the sky. At first, he thought it was a shooting star. But the glowing object was getting bigger. And bigger. “Wait… it’s falling here!” Leo shouted. BOOM! The glowing object crashed into the ground only a few steps away from him. Dirt and dust flew into the air. Leo’s heart beat fast as he slowly walked closer. Hidden inside the small hole was a beautiful blue crystal. The crystal glowed softly like magic. Leo carefully picked it up. The moment his fingers touched it, the crystal became brighter. Suddenly, powerful wind surrounded him. The grass moved wildly, and the trees shook loudly. “What’s happening?” Leo cried. Then his feet slowly lifted off the ground. Leo looked down in shock. He was flying. The higher he rose, the more the clouds around him opened like giant white doors. Beyond them was something impossible. Floating islands filled the sky. Huge birds with glowing wings flew around a shining silver castle in the clouds. Leo could hardly believe his eyes. But then he heard a deep growl behind him. A giant dark shadow moved through the clouds. And it was coming straight toward him.
