I was still on the floor letting the rain hit me, when the doctor came out to get me. He was walking so slowly toward me, I felt like I already knew what he had to say. I didn’t want to hear him, as a matter of fact I wanted to run away from him. But I couldn’t even move.
“Alpha. Could you please come inside.” He said.
I was quiet, and didn’t respond. So he added. “Alpha, Nova needs you.”
There was something in the way that he said it that let me know I was wrong about her being gone. I stood up and turned to him. “She’s alive?”
He scrunched his eyebrows. “What? Yes. She’s very weak, and the baby’s heartbeat was extremely faint, but we managed to get it back to normal. She was asking for you.”
