Zeke quickly took over the second we smelled blood. We ran so fast and as we burst through the door, this time breaking it off its hinges. We saw a scene that I had feared. I saw a rogue wolf on top of Nova, his mouth wide open about to rip her apart. I saw the terror in her eyes, and I felt a pain in my chest. I never wanted to see Nova so scared like she was right now. I had always wanted to protect her, not just physically, but emotionally, and it seemed like I was failing at every chance I had.
The wolf was raising his head, ready to go in for a kill. My adrenaline kicked in, as I prepared to shove him away from my mate. Before I could leap toward them, the knives from the top counter fell, and with luck from the Moon Goddess one of the knives fell, directly piercing his head.
