Chapter 8 It's not my real name

Duncan stood at the hall on the east side of the school, waiting. Raine had asked her to come here, so he would prove to her that she was Duncan. It took a long time before she had agreed in her mind to come here.

' What if he really knew and has evidence to prove it '. Her subconscious screamed

But since she was here, she was going to go through with it, no matter what was going to happen.

Duncan looked around the hall she was in. This was the same hall where the welcoming party was held, the same hall where she spooked the students who came to the party, the same hall she first saw when she came to this school.

Though she scared the students on command, that didn't change the fact that she did it, and is afraid to admit it.

Duncan looked around the hall again. The last time she was here she didn't have enough time to look around, but now, she could see how big the hall really is. The dark blue with strips of white covering the building, in total it was big and beautiful.

"You came pretty early". She heard someone say from behind her so she turned towards the voice.

"Raine, you came pretty late, and you brought a friend". Duncan said as she came face to face with Raine and Justin. She had thought he would come alone, but his friend had to tag along.

"Look who it is, the lady who have refused to admit that she is Duncan ". Justin said sarcastically.

"Yes, and I stand by my words, how were you going to prove that I was Duncan anyways"

"We weren't ". Raine spoke.

"We thought that after coming here, you would decide to say the truth, so we could work on a truce" he finished.

"What?"

"Look Duncan, or whatever you chose to call yourself, we know and you know you are Duncan, why still deny it, we are the only ones here". Justin said.

Duncan looked at the both of them and started to suspect. What were they planning? Why are they trying to form a truce with her? Should she admit it?

"If I was Duncan, shouldn't you both be afraid of me? Because I heard that everyone was scared when the storm began."

"We were not scared of you then, and we definitely are not now. So are you going to finally drop the bullshit of the pretend mask you wear and admit it, aren't you tired of pretending ". Justin spoke again, why Raine just kept trying to look her in the eyes.

Then there was silence.

No one spoke for the next few minutes, while Duncan was contemplating on whether to act like her real self and come clean, Justin and Raine where waiting for her to admit herself so they could finally get the truth they needed.

Yes, that's the truth. They never had any evidence on Duncan. They searched this very hall for over 5 times, but still didn't find anything. After searching ovwr and over again, they both got tired. But since Raine had promised to get evidence, they couldn't just forsake the matter, they had to get Evidence even if it's just to prove to himself that he was right.

So when he saw her at the male's bathroom, the idea just came to him. He was going to make her admit by herself that she was Duncan and that's what he was hoping she did.

After considering what she was going to do, Duncan looked at both boys in front of her and decided to drop the act and come clean. Of anyone could help her find her mum, they could because all they were literally what was keeping her from matching up to that lady that kept coming to her head giving her the information about them and demanding for her mother's whereabouts.

"I need you guys to listen to me carefully..". Duncan began and the hall became dead silent again.

"My name's not Duncan, I go by it sometimes, but that's not my name .."

"Yes! I knew it ". Justin interrupted exclaiming loudly. When he saw that they were both looking at him he calmed down.

" Why did you terriorize our school on the day of the welcoming party? "Raine asked after the excitement of them being right died off

" I was following orders". Duncan answered

"Order? Orders? Who could order you, your the only child of Alfred Jones, one of the most successful business men in the country, not to mention that he's one of the governors of the country. So please don't mind me being suprised as why you could be ordered around". Raine yelled. Duncan flinched when she heard the part of her father being a governor, it's been long si long that she only remembers him as s business man, not a governor. Ever since her mother disappeared, she had stopped following her father to governor's meetings like she used to, and her father hadly mentioned anything about bis governorship at home, so she had almost forgotten.

"Look, even I follow orders sometimes, especially when the person giving me the orders has a leverage over me. Now that I've told you everything what now. What's the darned evidence you both have against me?" Duncan asked.

" We didn't have any evidence untill now

' ....My name's not Duncan, I go by it sometimes but that's not my real name.... '. Raine played the recorder that was in his plan.

When Duncan heard the content, her face turned pale. So that was their plan, to make her admit that she was Duncan, and the worst part was that they had succeeded. She had actually thought that she could trust them.

"What? Are you suprised?" Justin asked.

Duncan just closed her eyes and prepared for the worst, that was it, her days in this school was over. If that recording came out, all the students in the school would be against her, and she would be expelled.

"Don't worry, we are not bring it out". Duncan heard Raine say as she was thinking of everything that would happen after the video is released.

"Wait, your not?"

"Yeah, Raine we are not?". Justin also asked.

"Yes, we are not releasing the video. I just wanted you to admit that your Duncan ".

Relive could be seen on Duncan face as she sighed.

"But I just want to know, what leverage did the person ordering you have over you to the point you would do something like that?" Raine asked.

"That's something for me to know and you both shouldn't ". Duncan replied and prepared to leave. She was late. She was supposed to be home ages ago.

" Ok, one last question Duncan.. " Justin called after Duncan as she was leaving. Duncan turned back and Justin asked

" Do you being here have something to do with us, I mean Raine and I? "

" Yes". Duncan answered. She turned away hestitated for a bit but turned back and said

" And please call me Aliya ". Then she left.

Raine and Justin looked at each other after hearing the answer to Justin question

" What made you asked that? "Raine asked

" I don't know, I just felt like I should, the same way I felt like she was being ordered by someone in her mind and I was right by the way". Justin joked.

" What do you think is her reason for being in this school, and why are we part of it? ". Raine asked again.

" That I don't know, but I'm going to find out. Let's leave it's getting late and the dorm curfew is about to reach". Justin said and started to leave the hall with Raine following behind him.

When they reached their dorms, Justin was the first to speak.

"I just remembered, why did you say that we were not going to reveal to the school who ' Aliya ' truly is". Justin asked while using his hands to quote the Aliya.

"That's because, I'm not. We're not telling anybody, anything".

"Why?"

"I could see the fear in her eyes when she heard the recording, and I could see the relief in her eyes when I said I'm not going to tell. I don't know, I just don't want to see that expression of fear on her face, it doesn't settle with me somehow". Raine answered

" Oooh, I guess you have a crush on her". Justin teased. This was the first time his friend have had a crush on someone he knew.

" No I don't I just don't want to see her disturbed". Raine said unconvincingly.

" Whatever I'm glad we finally have prove, no I can prove to myself that I'm not crazy "

" Yeah. I delete the recording later, but I just want to hear it again"
