Chapter 12 Jealousy

Alfred sat down on his bed thinking about what his daughter had just said.

' Can there really be another half blood prince, this fast? '. Alfred asked himself.

Few years ago, he was the only half blood prince, but since he couldn't control his jealousy, his mate, Duncan's mother, wanted to reject him. He was nice to everybody as long as they didn't have any bad opinions are all about Jermaine. Once he found out they did, his anger gets the best of him and he goes after them and kills them.

The worst of it was his jealousy. Even just seeing her talk to another male species gets him angry, no matter the age, he goes after them and warns them to stay away from her

Jermaine couldn't take it anymore, so she threatened to reject him if he continued what he was doing. It wasn't as if he could stop even if he wanted, being the half blood prince had it's advantage but also had it disadvantages, and extreme jealousy was one of the disadvantages.

Alfred knew that he couldn't lose his mate, so he rejected it. He rejected being the half-blood prince, he rejected everything that came with it, all the powers and abilities just to keep his mate.

When Jermaine found out, she reprimanded him but he knew that nothing could change what he had done, she finally forgave him and decided to marry him. But though his jealousy reduced alot, he still hated seeing her laughing and smiling with other men, and till this day, he didn't regret making the decision of rejecting the gift of being the half blood prince.

Now what he can't figure out is whether another prince had been born or not, and if he had been born, why this early?

Alfred couldn't help but wonder.

Back at the dormitory, Justin was showing Raine around town. It had been almost five years since he left, and things had changed alot since then.

"I can't believe that people are loving in the haunted house now". Raine said in surprise as they passed a huge mansion.

" 2 (two) years ago, the haunted house was found out by some of the governors so they decided to renovated the place. After renovation, a family bought the house and now they live there. It was surprising to everyone who found out. " Justin explained.

" How long have they been living here? " Raine asked, it was all too surprising for him to believe.

The haunted house was a story all the parents that lived in Downtown Garfield told their children to scare them not to stay out to late at night. He got to know it from Justin, and he believed it, because he felt that it was true

The haunted house was once inhabited by a young couple who had just gotten married over 40 years ago. The couple was said to be kind and loving to everyone. They were just right for each other and everyone loved them.

After 7 years of marriage, the couple were no longer young, but yet they had no children. The couple were restless. The woman went to evey healing home in Downtown Garfield, but no answers to her barrenness were found. When it was the 8th year, the husband changed. He changed from the loving young man he was to an arrogant bastard.

He stopped greeting his neighbors like he does early in the morning, he stopped smiling he even stopped coming home early. He started to drink and keep late nights out. He began to follow gangs, he changed totally to the opposite of his former self.

There was something the neighbours didn't know about the couple, and that was their powers. Their magic wasn't natural, they made themselves powered by other means, thereby giving room to dark magic in them.

They sold their souls to the devil long before they got married. Each not knowing what the other had done.

As stupid as that sounds its true.

The man sold his soul when he had just became an adult. He was tired of his friends being powered and him having nothing, so he began to read the forbidden books, and when he finally found a way, he sold his soul immediately. He knew the repercussions of selling his soul, but he also knew that as far as the woman he married still had her dignity and soul intact, he would still be able to bear a child.

The woman on the other hand, sold her soul to the devil because of revenge. Her family deserted her when she was young, and her stepparents mistreated her. She was treated as trash by her step sister just because her stepsister was her stepparents biological daughter. She had finally had enough when her stepsister drugged her and made her sleep with another man, someone she didn't know. She began searching for ways she could empower herself, and after selling her soul to the devil she had her revenge on her step family. She also knew what she was risking, and like her husband, she thought if she married a man with his soul intact, they would have a child.

But it was like destiny was playing a dirty trick on them. They found each other, with one not knowing the other had sold his soul to the devil.

The husband knew that his wife was no longer a virgin because she told him, and he thought, it was fine, since he loved her and as long as her soul was intact, they would still have a child. While the wife had no idea whatsoever that her husband did the same thing she did years ago.

When the man found out, that was when he changed. He knew he could never have a child, so why don't he just wallow in drinks for the rest of his life, and that was what he did.

The woman however didn't know anything, so she continued looking for ways for her to have a child. In the 10 year of their marriage, her friend took her to a witch who was supposed to give her the ability to conceive, and surprisingly it worked.

When the child was born, even the husband was shocked. He knew it was not possible so what happened?

The child grew bigger each passing year, and slowly the husband began to believe, but unfortunately for them it didn't last long.

One night when the couple were in their garden getting some air, their child came in with a knife in his hands. He killed both of his parents, threw their body out and locked himself in the house.

It was said by the adults that the boy, the couple's child, still came out at night to grab all the children who stayed late at night. They said he grabs them and takes them into the house with him an dthe never would be seen again.

As Raine remised the story of the haunted house he suddenly thought of something so he stopped in his tracks.

"If what the stories say are true, did they find the boy that was said to have killes his parents?" He turned and asked Justin.

"I don't know. All I know is that people are actually living in this house now. The house I always ran away from expecially at night". Justin answered. He really had no clue what inspired the government to redecorate that house.

"Wait is that Ann?". All of a sudden Raine called out taping Justin and bringing him out of his thoughts.

Justin suddenly stop when he heard what Raine said, plus the fact that Raine tapped him. He saw a person clothed in a hooded robe walking into a dark alley of the street. At first he wasn't sure whether it was Ann, but then he remembered the person who pointed it out. Raine had the best sense of smell, taste and sight than anyone he had ever seen.

"It could be her". Justin said as he looked at the hooded figure disappear into the alley.

"It her, let's check what's she's up to". Raine said and walked towards the direction the figure had disappear from. Justin looked around and immediately followed not wanting to be let behind.
