Chapter 7 Adele Bush

1404 Words
The villa was extremely luxurious, with a classic style; countless paintings and statues filled the area.     In the living room, an aged old man with a sad look, immediately stood up when he saw Robert walk in.   "Abby, where is the master you brought?" He asked anxiously, then looked at Robert.   Before Abby could speak, her father slapped the table and pointed to Robert angrily, "Abby, is this the master you invited? You are pushing your sister into the fire pit! What can you expect from a little beggar? Let him go!"   "Dad, believe me! Please! This is Adele’s only hope!" Abby was so anxious that she almost cried. She had to convince him to give Robert a chance, she believed in him.   Abby’s father refused, "No! Abby, I think you were fooled by this beggar! White, get the bodyguards to take this liar out of here!"   "Mr. Bush," Robert suddenly clasped his fists in respect, "Give me a chance. If your daughter can't be cured within three days, I am willing to...abandon my own hands!"   Everyone was surprised by his comment. Abby looked at him, “Robert, well… you don’t have to swear.”   "Don’t worry," Robert smiled. He had the Remarkable Ghostbuster System, if he didn’t have confidence, he had to truly be a coward.   Abby’s father was stunned, and he thought for a moment before saying, "Okay, that’s what you swore. I hope you won't break your promise then! Adele's room is on the second floor. White, take them there!"   White snorted coldly, "How can kids be so arrogant these days? I want to see the outcome of this situation!”   He took them upstairs into Adele Bush's room. Robert was shocked when he entered the room and saw Adele lying on the bed, "What kind of enchantment is this?"   Adele's face was a pale white color, if he hadn’t known the circumstances before walking in, he would have thought she was dead.   "It gets worse," Abby walked to the bed and bit her lip.   Robert also leaned over to the bed and looked at Adele's face. She looked to be about Robert’s age and was as beautiful as Abby. If she wasn’t so pale, she would be the sleeping beauty who charmed countless men.   Robert gently lifted Adele's right arm and felt her pulse; it was totally unstable. He opened his ghost eyes to see a thick black mist enveloping Adele.   "How is she put under this spell?!" asked Robert, closing his ghost eyes.   "Adele was a student at Portledge School. She disappeared inexplicably last week. Finally, we found her next to an abandoned building at the school, and...that is all we know," Abby said with tears.   At this time, White mocked, "Do you have a way? I have all the knives ready for you. Do you want to have them now?"   Robert ignored him and continued to ask Abby, "Have you checked the abandoned building? Is there anything unusual?"   Abby shook her head, "It's not that I don't want to check it, but I dare not to. Someone died in the building before and anyone who goes in doesn’t come out alive. The area is closed by the school; it is forbidden to go there. Some time ago, the school sent in a team to demolish the building, but the workers went in and never came back.”   Robert felt anxious when he heard Abby’s story. Adele’s enchantment had to have something to do with the building, “Quickly, take me there!”   On the way back to the school, Abby told Robert the details of her family. Her father, Donald Bush, was the chairman of a relatively large company in New York. Although he was not as rich as the Long family, he was also much more powerful than most. He loved his two daughters, Adele and Abby, and nearly had a heart attack when he found out Adele had an accident. Abby was at Portledge School teaching to make her dreams come true; otherwise, she would have inherited her father’s company.     As they reached the abandoned building, Robert was taken aback by the sudden electronic sound in his head:   "Congratulations to the host on successfully exploring the nightmare school building (Copy)."   He was thrilled though to see the screen that followed,   Nightmare school building (Copy) Difficulty: A- Level Opening Time: At 00: 00 BOSS: Ghost under the spell (hidden BOSS, the red-eyed ghost under the spell) Reward: 1,000 points and experience points Reward for breaking the hidden BOSS, A Book for Heavenly Skill     Robert almost yelled out with excitement; 1000 points were just enough to solve his urgent need, and he could drool over the Book of Heavenly Skill. The book was at least 500,000 points but he could dream.   "You can go back. I will stay here alone," Robert told Abby, he had a plan in mind.   "What? Are you going to go in alone? No, you can't take this risk!" Abby took Robert's arm and said.   Robert smiled faintly, "Trust me, you go back. Tomorrow morning, I will prove to all of those who doubted me!”   Although he was smiling, his tone was very firm, revealing an irresistible determination.   "All right. Be careful! "Abby finished speaking and added another sentence before leaving, "I will wait for you to come back!"   After a simple meal, Robert returned to the dormitory to store up his energy. He had more than 900 Fiery Runes left, which should be enough to handle the ghost, and he had an Excellent-level cross. Robert fell asleep thinking about all of the tools he had.   When he woke up, it was almost 11:00 p.m. He washed his face and headed to the abandoned building alone. There was no one around the school building, only a few street lamps with dim light, casting a shadow.   He leaned against the wall of the school building and counted the stars. Suddenly, Robert saw several people approaching the building. He didn’t understand why anyone would go there in the middle of the night, something had to be wrong.   "Come here, don't worry! A group of demolition workers went missing from this building two days ago. If you go in, tell me what you see and come back to me, you don’t need to pay back your debt!” Anthony told a group of five men. He was holding a cigar, half of his face was slightly swollen, but this didn't affect his aggressiveness.   "Mr. Long, please let us go! We may go to Staten Island Academy, but we know about this building being haunted. We will get you your money in two days. You can force us to do this! We will die!” A red-haired young man begged as he knelt in front of Anthony Long.   Anthony kicked him and said playfully, "What? No! I have to know whether this building is haunting or if it is a real person. I am different from other loan sharks, if you can’t return their money they take your hands and feet. With me, I am more sensible, as long as you go in the building, look around and walk out, I will let you go.”   The rest of the group dropped to their knees in front of Anthony, “Mr. Long, we beg for your mercy! From now on, we will do anything for you!”   Anthony remained cold and unfriendly, “Don’t act like this! I have enough assistants, and you are not even qualified to wipe my ass!”   "Damn it! I was beaten up by Robert last time, and I have no way to vent my anger!" Anthony said and began kicking them.   Nobody dared to move as Anthony assaulted them. After what felt like forever, Anthony stopped, but one said, “Mr. Long, you can hit us a few more times. As long as you are no longer angry and don’t force us to go into that building. Feel free to hit us as much as you want!”   "Oh? Then I guess I should tell you the truth. Tonight, you must go into this building, no matter if you want to or not! If absolutely refuse, then tomorrow I will contact your parents to come to collect your body,” Anthony grinned.   Robert looked down at his watch; it was almost midnight and the troublesome group was in his way. He was going to have to be the good guy and show himself. He took out the Excellent-level cross and carried it on his shoulder toward Anthony and his thugs.   Before Anthony could react, Robert said, "I could come with you, but you will have to praise me for being so excellent!"
