Chapter 13 Straight-A Student

1255 Words
Robert didn't close his ghost eyes before going to bed. When he heard the sound and opened his eyes, he saw the young woman in his arms. When she looked at Robert, her eyes were still half-closed, but she was blushing.   "Robert, are you awake?" She whispered.   Robert just wanted to move his hands, but he only felt like he was holding on to something. Oh no, he thought and quickly moved his hand away, "Jessica, are you… are you all right?”   "It's so hot, and I feel..." She started to say, but just as she was going to say something more explicit, Robert covered her mouth. "It won't be so hot later, go to sleep..." Robert said quickly. If he continued like this, he was afraid he couldn’t control himself.   "Robert, don’t leave me..." Jessica said.   "Well, I won't leave," Robert couldn't sleep with his heart racing. He put his arms around the young girl and held her until she went back to sleep.     Early the next morning, Robert put on his school uniform and left the dormitory to go to class. He did look handsome after he cleaned himself up and took off his tattered robe. The uniform gave him a sense of self-confidence, and many of the rich girls looked at him.   Robert asked Jessica to look around the school while he was in class. It was fine as long as she didn't get caught and cause trouble.   When he arrived at his class, there were already many students inside. They were chattering about nonsense until they saw Robert walk in.   They were all curious; Robert could hear the whispers.   "Who is he? He looks quite handsome."   "I don't know. I guess he’s new here?"   "He doesn’t look like he is rich!”   "Who knows how he was able to get enrolled? Who cares though, he looks weak, and I will have fun bullying him later!"   Robert smiled sarcastically. It seems as though people had gossiped about his name, but no one seemed to actually know what he looked like, especially after he changed his clothing. He glanced around and finally found a seat in the last row.     "Boy, how did you get in?" asked a tall boy beside Robert.   "What about you?" Robert asked back.   The tall boy put his hand out and said, "Me? My father is rich! You better be smart and give me the money.”   "What money?” Robert asked cautiously.   "$1,000,000 per month for protection! Hurry up; I have run out of my hundreds of thousands in monthly living expenses already," The tall boy said and patted the table.   Sure enough, Robert thought, as long as you are rich, you think you are the boss, no matter where you are, and it seemed the Portledge School was no different.   "No!" Robert said coldly.   "No?" The other student stood up aggressively, attracting the attention of all the students around him.   "No!" Robert shook his head gently and smiled, ignoring him.   "f**k, I knew you were poor! I really wonder how did you get into Portledge School! s**t, I will pay the compensation if I beat you to death. It’s not a big deal!" Then, the tall boy swung his arm to punch Robert.   Robert still sat motionless in his seat, and just as the boy's fist was nearing Robert's face, he grabbed it and punched the boy in the stomach. Robert struck him that he stumbled a few steps back before falling to the ground.   When he was in the temple and studying with Jason Brown, he may not have learned exorcism, but he did practice martial arts every day. With his physique being two or three times stronger than most, Robert had no problems knocking people down.   "s**t! This guy is the strongest boy in our class, and he can't stand being beaten by a newcomer..."   "He is so amazing! I have also been asked for protection fees before! It is  cool to see the bully being beaten."   The students were gossiping, and they had mixed opinions about Robert.   At this moment, Abby walked in, holding books in her arms. She shouted, "What are you all doing? Get back to your seats and prepare for class!"   Everyone immediately returned to their seats, while the tall bully stumbled to the infirmary alone.   Abby stepped down from the podium, walked over to Robert, grabbed his hand, then pulled him onto the podium with her. She spoke loudly, “This is our new classmate. Please welcome, Robert Martin.” "Nice to meet you all!” Robert exclaimed with a smile.   The whole classroom suddenly roared.   "Holy s**t! Robert! Robert will be our classmate!"   "I have to hang out with him! We can eat, drink, and hook up with girls together!”   Just when most of the students were shocked, there was a mocking laugh, "Isn't Robert the garbage who only fights and uses his money to smack others in the face? So, what if he has money? He is still a stupid kid! Let's see what he can get on the exam!"   Robert looked around to see a male in the middle row, wearing glasses, commenting about him. He wasn't the only one who was offended though, other students who hadn't bothered to study begun to worry.   "Monitor, that is what I am going to call you for the time being. It is not good for you to talk to Robert like that. But, does it mean that you are so smart and did all of your studying?” Another student shouted.   "Shut up!" Abby was getting agitated.   Robert waved his hands at Abby and then laughed at the student who questioned his intelligence, “Monitor, it’s just an exam? Shall we take it now? Just the two of us!”   "Well, don't blame me for getting a zero!" The man said. It turned out he was a monitor for the class, so he walked up to the podium and pulled out two test papers, "This is the most difficult test paper in Portledge. No one in the entire school has scored full marks!"   "You are absolutely amazing!” Robert said sarcastically.   All the other students dispersed, leaving only Robert and the monitor on the podium.   "Robert is from a rural area... How can he win..."   Abby began to worry about Robert.   After picking up his pen and looking at the exam paper, Robert found that he knew all the answers. They seemed to be imprinted in his mind as if he had always known them. The Learning-all pill really did work, and within five minutes, Robert handed his exam to Abby.     "What?! How could he finish it so fast? He isn’t fooling around, is he?"   The students questioned not trusting Robert.   Abby took the paper and began to compare it with the answers. A moment later, Abby stared back at Robert, and her hands trembled, "How did you do it?! Your answers are just like the standard ones! You got full marks!"   In an instant, the students admired Robert.   "How is it possible?”   The monitor was staring at Robert, and he hadn't even finished half of his test paper.   Robert leisurely walked over to him, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "You are a straight-A student, but unfortunately, I am a genius."   Before he finished, Robert suddenly heard the system’s chime. He had missed it oh so much!
