As soon as we entered the room filled with beautifully dressed women and well-built men, I felt a million stares towards me.
I don't like all of the attention, and I know that it's only because I'd just entered with Chase. Of course, everyone would be drawn to him just like I always was.
"Stay by my side, " he said to me under his breath.
Like he could get rid of me in this thick crowd. I wasn't going anywhere.
"Chase!" The director called out to him. "It's nice to see that the both of you have finally made it."
Chase went over to him, and they both shook hands before I was introduced to a few more new faces.
I felt Chase's eyes on me a couple of times, but whenever I looked at him, he would look away as though I'd caught him doing something that he shouldn't be doing.
