Brandon POV
One thing that I hated doing was packing up and moving. I bought the guys pizza and a beer for all the help in getting my apartment cleaned out. Tony had already talked to a few of the guys and found out which ones would be comfortable moving to Oklahoma to work with me. All of the guys at the shop were like family. Most of us had no real family to speak of outside our group. The guys staying with Tony let me know they'd be there if I needed them.
The timetable I gave Cait turned out to be a little optimistic. We did our best to get done in four days, but the bike we were finishing didn't quite come together like I wanted. I made a point to call her every night to update her on our progress. Each night I felt even closer to her. I know that Tyler was talking to her just as much. We'd been texting to get everything organized for me to be able to pick him up on my way back. He'd relayed what his doctors were requiring for him to be discharged and he'd already gotten his discharge orders as well. I could tell he felt guilty for not dying with Jeremy and a few of their other teammates. I was hoping that being around Cait would cheer him up or at least make him able to talk to a therapist. I knew a few other vets and thought I might get him a dog. When I'd first gotten away from the bookie I'd had one and they just listen without trying to "fix" you.
Six days after I'd left her, I was finally on my way back. Two of my crew that were moving down were driving their trucks with equipment to put into the new shop and would meet me at the property. We traveled as a convoy until I split off to get Tyler. He refused to use the wheelchair that the nurse kept pestering him with. I tried not to laugh because he was acting like a stubborn old man,but he looked more like a child pouting. Tyler was great company on the trip. We found out when had a lot of things in common. He also shared more about Cait. I was already in awe of the hardships she'd over come. Tyler also made the point to let me know he wanted to shoot his shot with her. I promised that I wouldn't interfere. I didn't let him know I liked her too.
Pulling into the property drive way, Tyler looked at it in awe.
"You out did yourself on getting this place." Tyler commented.
"It met all of the needs I had for moving and then some." I replied vaguely. I didn't want him to know I picked it because Cait liked it so much.
"You need a better poker face or she's gonna know she has you wrapped around her finger already." Tyler said looking at him.
"She does not." I responded but it sounded hollow even to me. Cait had talked to both of us at the same time for the last part of the trip. It had been like she'd been in the car with both of us.
"Speak of the devil..."Cait had yanked Tyler out of the car and wrapped him in a bear hug. I didn't want to intrude so I started to get things from the back. Before I knew what was happening, I was being given a bear hug of my own.
"What's that for?" I said as she stood back shyly.
"For being an amazing person and bringing Tyler here." She'd moved her things in earlier that week and had organized the kitchen and living room. Victoria had helped her get all of the packages that I'd had delivered put up. Victoria had told me I was such a man for ordering such a big tv. If I was watching a movie, I wanted to SEE the movie. I had brought my console systems with me.
"It's no problem, I want you to feel at home here and Tyler was a brother to Jeremy while I wasn't." I thought I'd have been more territorial with Tyler, but strangely I felt like he was a brother I'd never known. I could see us being friends for a long time.
"Hopefully you guys are hungry. I made sandwiches while I waited."
"Starved." I didn't tell her that food wasn't on my mind. It seemed in the six days I'd been gone, she'd gotten even sexier. They weren't joking about how pregnant women glow.
The sandwiches weren't anything special. Afterwards, I gave Tyler a quick tour of the house and showed him the room that Victoria and Cait had decorated for him. He'd left stuff at their parents that Victoria had brought over for him. They left Tyler to rest and Victoria kept Cait company while I unpacked my truck. Cait had taken one of the master suites on the second floor and I picked the other. Victoria stayed until dinner time. Exhausted from all the unpacking, I opted to either have dinner ordered in or go eat in town. We ended up on ordering in. We watched a movie that Cait wanted while we ate pizza. We were all cuddled up on the couch watching movies and ended up falling asleep together on the couch. When I woke up, Cait was laying across both me and Tyler. She was holding one of each of our hands in hers. I gently nudged Tyler to get his view on the current situation.
"What should we do?" I whispered so I didn't wake her.
"I think we give her what she wants. I think we are gonna have to learn to share." Tyler said looking at Cait.
"I wasn't exactly referring to that, I mean with her being asleep across us."
"Oh well, currently I'm in no shape to carry her up the stairs. Do you think you can do it without hurting her?" Tyler responed.
"She doesn't weigh that much. Are you okay with me taking her up to her bed?"
"I sure can't right now."Tyler responded seeming a little disappointed in himself.
"I'm only going to put her in her room and then go to mine. That's only fair." I didn't want him to think I would take advantage of his injuries in getting time with Cait.
"Thanks, you are a good dude." He gave me a fist bump before I moved to pick her up and take her to her room. She didn't even wake up from me jostling her up to her bed. As agreed, I covered her up in her bed and left her. I did leave the door open and a light on in the hallway in case she woke up in the night. Sometime around 3am, I woke up to a blood curddling scream. It was coming from Cait's room. On my way there, I saw Tyler trying to make his way up the stairs, and stopped to help him up the stairs.
"What's going on?"He asked me angrily.
"Why are you asking me? I was asleep and hear her scream. I then saw you trying to get up the stairs." As I got him up to the second floor, she screamed again. We both headed for her room to find her asleep having a nightmare.
"You can't wake her out of these. She has to ease herself out of them."Tyler took one of her hands and started rubbing it. She showly woke up.
"Why are you both staring at me?"
"Are you okay? You were having a really bad dream."I tell her.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to wake you guys."
"I don't give a s**t if you wake me up, I care about if YOU are okay." Tyler and I say at the same time.
"Could you guys stay with me for a bit?" She seemed shy to ask. I was just happy she didn't choose either of us. I agreed as long as Tyler was okay with it. We arranged ourselves so she was in the middle.
