Chapter12

Lunch was filled with talk about what they needed to do for the baby, Tyler's arrival back home, and what they needed to buy for the house. Until he was able to climb stairs, they figured the space off the main floor would be perfect for him. Brandon even joked that Cait could trade with him as she got to the end of the pregnancy. Brandon told her stories about Jeremy and him as they grew up. She told him stories about what Tyler and her were like growing up. Things changed when she noticed someone walking their way. "Why, Caitlynn! I thought you were out of the office for 'personal reasons due to death'. He doesn't look dead to me, but I can only see the top half." The woman said snidely. "My fiancé is very much dead Georgina. This is his brother Brandon." Cait said sadly. "Wow, keeping it in the family are we?" "Watch how you talk to her." "I was just observing someone who should be 'grieving' flirting with someone who would have been their brother-in-law. Feel like your brother dodged a bullet by not marrying her." "How dare you be so cruel. He's not here because he didn't dodge a bullet. We are trying to enjoy a nice lunch and here you are bringing your toxic attitude to our table. Take your unwanted opinions and fake attitude somewhere else." Brandon spat back at Georgina. "Well, I never.."Georgina started. "Been called fake? Maybe not to your face, but I'm sure fake is the nicest thing that someone has said about you." That made Georgina flounce off."She shook that bag like it owed her money." Cait couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled up. Brandon winked at her and went back to his nachos. After a few more uncomfortable moments, ease returned to their conversation. After lunch, they headed to Victoria's house. Since it was still early, Cait asked Brandon to keep her company for a little while. The girls planned to have a slumber party like they did when they were kids. As they sat on the couch figuring out what to watch, Brandon took her feet and put them in his lap. He then decided to give her a foot massage. "Are you guys decent?"Victoria asked as she came in. "Why wouldn't we be?" Cait managed to say between moans. "Because those moans sound like he's taking you to pound town."Victoria said laughingly. "He's so good at foot rubs," Cait swore her feet had never felt so relaxed. Now if other parts of her body would relax, she'd be great. "Well don't hog him too long mama. Share the wealth." Victoria laughed. Cait moved to a chair a few minutes later and let Victoria have a foot rub. Victoria agreed that he did have some talented hands. He even put her to sleep with his menstruation. Brandon stayed until the end of the last movie that they had been watching. At the door, he gave her a brief hug and promised to meet her tomorrow with her car. Driving back to the hotel, he felt the most alone he had in days. Reaching the hotel, Brandon switched into his gym clothes and decided to work off some of the s****l frustration he was feeling. He knew he shouldn't have feelings for Cait, but he couldn't help it. Plus her moans made him realize how long it had been since he'd been with a woman. "Hello? Who is this?"Brandon asked answering a blocked number. "Well, well, if it isn't our knight in shining armor," said an unknown voice. "Look asshat, your people went after a defenseless woman. My brother owed the debt." "And the debt is still unpaid. You know how this works." "You getting your money back ended when my brother died." "So you think, I'll get my money that's for sure." "Threaten someone who is scared of you, and I don't mean Caitlyn she's off limits."Brandon hung up the phone. He wasn't going to dignify the bookie with giving him any more attention. He'd put out inquiries to find out who this bookie is. Just as he finished working out, Tony called." Your brother sure knew how to pick the biggest assholes to borrow from." "No surprise, he was just like Dad apparently."Brandon already hated this conversation. "Well your past is about to rear its ugly head. Pauly loaned him the most money." "That shouldn't surprise me. The person who called me wasn't him though, unless he had a voice change." "More like moved up in the scheme of things. Joey Sr. caught a bullet with his head. Colin, the second, took control.Pauly got a promotion, because of his loyalty to him." "So we need to get Colin to call him off." "Not sure that would work, Pauly is rumored to be trying to take over Colin's position." "Unless Pauly had a brain transplant, that won't ever happen." "Hmm...so maybe Colin would be better off if we just eliminated the problem." "Sounds logical to me, but how would Jeremy's fiance feel about that?" "She doesn't need to know. All she needs to know is she's safe." "Don't tell me she's growing on you already." Tony joked with him. "She's growing my niece or nephew. It'd be nice if the baby is a boy." Brandon saw himself in the front yard of the house he had just bought teaching a little boy to catch while Cait was on the porch with a baby. "Earth to Brandon..." "Uh..Sorry..Zoned out there for a second."Brandon didn't want Tony to find out what he'd been thinking. "Sure..I said she better appreciate the effort going into this." "If she knew she would." Brandon had reached his room and was lying on the bed. "So tell me about this amazing house." Brandon spent the next hour talking about the house and building he'd gotten along with it. He sent an aerial shot of the property to him as well. They couldn't have gotten half as much land or buildings in their current location. He let Tony know he'd be back for more of his things and to figure out what equipment would need to be brought over.
