Chapter 2: Flash Marriage

1080 Words
Amelia had never thought of this. She looked at him through the dissipating smoke, licked her parched lips, and asked, "Why me?" In fact, for a moment, she wanted to shout. She needed money, but she wouldn't marry someone solely for a high bid, though she also knew that she was not the same Amelia as before. In this situation, money is more important. Hearing her question, Ethan glanced at her and put out his cigarette. "You are beautiful," He said. "Is that reason enough?" Amelia remained silent. She was aware of her beauty. In the view of the public, she did possess the attractive features inherited from her mother. However, she didn't think that Ethan was a playboy who would marry her solely for her beauty. She wasn't the most beautiful woman in the world, and he was so wealthy that she wouldn't rank first if he were to consider only beauty as a criterion. Unable to find the answer, Amelia only secretly pondered. Standing on the cold stairs for a while, she said lightly, "I've just decided not to marry Gabriel, and then I would become his aunt. That wouldn't be good, would it?" Besides, the Davis family was in charge of Ethan's father. Amelia was worried. She was naturally willing to marry Ethan, but she was afraid that if this were to happen, it would enrage both families and her family would suffer losses. She lowered her head with her pupils like pearls, looking at him from time to time. Her eyelashes curved upward, and her hair near her cheeks slightly swayed. This look was a little different from the usual Amelia, who could only smile mechanically. Ethan looked at her and smiled: "Is that a bad thing?" "Let the heir of the Davis family call his former fiancée 'aunt'." Ethan brushed away the ash that had fallen on his cuff and sneered, "Interesting." Although She did not know the conflict between the Davis family and the Wilson family, Ethan's reaction made her understand what he married herself for. It wasn't because of her beauty but because she was Gabriel's fiancée. He wanted to tarnish the reputation of the Davis family. Understanding this, Amelia became more silent. Ethan asked again, "Have you made your decision? If you don't marry me, considering the personality of Erick Miller, will you marry someone else? Or perhaps, come to the Davis family's house to apologize and marry Gabriel." Her father would certainly ask her to apologize. If she didn't marry Gabriel, she would probably end up marrying a fat upstart. Recalling an upstart's hands that had touched her leg during a blind date, Amelia felt disgusted. "If," she swallowed twice and looked up, "if the Davis family wants to tackle my family, you have to protect my family." Ethan asked coldly, "Are you negotiating with me?" Amelia bit her lip, closed her eyes, and nodded. In the next moment, she felt a coolness on one side of her face. She opened her eyes in surprise. Ethan had risen from the railing and his hand was resting on her face. "You are brave. The only person I can negotiate with is my wife. If you don't marry me, you won't be qualified, and your family will be in danger." Amelia knew that if she broke the marriage today, the Davis family would withdraw the investment and her family would collapse. She took a breath, stepped back to distance herself from Ethan, and said, "I'm going to change my clothes." "Don't bother. Go with me now." Before Amelia could react, a suit came down from her head. She held it, and Ethan took her wedding shoes in front of her. "The Wilson family is not short of money. Wear this, and then I will give money to the Davis family." Without waiting for her response, Ethan sent a message, and then he held out his hands to her. Recalling that she had just been pulled by Gabriel, Amelia quietly rubbed her hands on her skirt and then reached out to hold him. Ethan was tall, and his hands were large, making Amelia look even smaller as she walked beside him. She followed him, looked at her "new husband", and only realized that they had entered the front door when she saw the astonished expression on Gabriel's sister, Keira Davis's face. The front door was surrounded by lots of media reporters who were waiting to take pictures of the wedding. When they saw Amelia coming out while holding Mr. Wilson's hand, they were very shocked and immediately sprang into action. However, before they could approach Amelia, a group of bodyguards dressed in black rushed up the steps and escorted Amelia and Ethan to a car. The wedding was live, and it quickly made headlines worldwide. Keira Davis was the first to see them. After turning off the live broadcast, she immediately rushed back to find Alice Wilson. "Mom, uncle took Amelia away!" At first, Alice Wilson was angry at Keira's interruption as she was boasting about the extravagant cost of the wedding to her friends. Hearing this, she immediately sat up, and surprisedly asked, "Where is your brother now?" When people found Amelia and Ethan, they had taken their wedding photos successfully. Along the way, Ethan's mobile phone kept vibrating with the screen showing calls from Alice Wilson. Ethan didn't answer her call until the caller ID changed to "Andrew Davis." Andrew Davis was currently in charge of the Davis family and he was said to be Ethan's father. He picked up and asked, "What's up?" Not knowing what Andrew asked, Ethan replied, "We have got the marriage certificate." 'Nonsense!" Andrew's voice burst through the loudspeaker and his anger caused Amelia's fingers on the armrest to tremble. Amelia was a little afraid to look at Andrew as he was always solemn. "Due to the urgent need of you and Grandpa wanting me to bring a child back home, I got married." With the tablet on his lap, Ethan did not lift his eyelids and his fingers were sliding the screen. After a while, the voice on the other side said, "You have to come back to explain to Alice." Ethan did not respond. After hanging up the phone, he turned to look at her and said, "We need to go back to LH Villa." The driver skillfully turned the steering wheel. Sitting in the her seat, Amelia nodded and said, "I'll follow your lead."
