Chapter 1: Ten Million
"Gabriel, Gabriel..." "Ella, lower your voice, or Amelia will find out what we're doing." "I don't mind! I can use this opportunity to marry you. After all, it's a wedding day." Amelia Miller stood outside the wedding venue. Hearing their vulgar words, she trembled slightly. Today was her wedding day, but the groom, Gabriel Davis, and her best friend, Ella Jones, were entangled with each other. It felt like a theatrical performance. She took a deep breath, opened the door, and walked in. They didn't notice her. Amelia took another deep breath and called out, "Gabriel." Gabriel immediately stood up. Seeing her, he hurriedly explained, "There's a reason for this..." Amelia didn't want to listen to his excuses. With tears welling up, she said, "Put on your clothes and come out. Explain to everyone that we're not getting married." Gabriel was shocked for a moment. Amelia turned to leave, but just as she reached the corridor, Gabriel forcefully pulled her back. Gabriel asked gloomily, "What do you mean? No marriage?" Amelia felt pain. She forcefully broke free from his grip and said, "After what you and Ella did, can we still get married? If you like Ella, then marry her. I don't want a husband who will betray me." "Don't you want me?" Gabriel sneered. "Don't you realize how much money I've spent on you, Amelia? How dare you accuse me of cheating on you? Have you ever considered how long I've pursued you, and how long we've been on an engagement? Have you ever let me touch you?" Amelia was astonished and said, "I already said I needed some time!" "You needed time, so I needed Ella!" Gabriel said. "Don't act like it's all my fault. If you had let me touch you earlier, I wouldn't have slept with Ella! Today's wedding is crucial for my family, and if you do something wrong, see how your company will suffer! Be a dutiful and obedient wife, then I'm willing to offer money to your family for your sake!" "Are you blaming me?" Amelia couldn't make sense of his words. "It's clearly your mistake!" "It's all because of you!" Gabriel pointed at her. "If you didn't want my family's money, would you have gone on a blind date with me? If you want money, do you understand what you should do?" Amelia bit her lip. Gabriel was her college classmate whose request to go out had never been accepted by her during university. If there weren't financial difficulties and her father Erick Miller's arrangements, she would never be engaged to him. In her mind, Gabriel was an uneducated playboy, and they weren't a good match. However, after they got together, she noticed a change in him. He seemed completely focused on her. Even the wedding roses today were champagne-colored, with the phrase "Love one" attached. If he hadn't suddenly disappeared, she would never have thought of looking for him and uncovering all of this. Little did she know that he had been pretending to be good to her while secretly being involved with Ella for a long time. She couldn't bear it. Gabriel returned to the bridal chamber, leaving Amelia alone, feeling an icy chill in her heart. Her mind was in chaos. With her eyes closed, she turned and walked towards the stairs. Suddenly, a dark figure enveloped her, and the cold scent of tobacco wafted into her nose. When she looked up, she bumped into someone. The man wore a silver-gray suit, and the customized watch on his wrist exuded wealth. His long fingers, holding a cigarette, touched his thin lips. She looked at him, mustering a smile as she said, "Hello, Mr. Wilson." The man was Gabriel's uncle, Ethan Wilson. Even though Amelia had only seen him a few times, she recognized him instantly. His face was famous all over the world. As the CEO of the QC Group, only those who lived with narrow views wouldn't know him. Ethan was drawing on his cigarette. Hearing her voice, he glanced at her, looked her up and down, and asked, "Amelia Miller?" "You know me?" Ethan smiled and said, "Using a marriage to save the Miller Family on the verge of bankruptcy. You're famous." Amelia didn't expect him to know about this matter. With a sarcastic smile, she said, "One million, in fact, is it worth a marriage?" After a pause, she added, "From the perspective of Gabriel and you, should I become Gabriel's obedient wife for this money?" "If it were just a matter of your husband cheating on you," Ethan said with a smile, "the Davis family's one million would be enough for you to swallow your pride." Amelia gripped her wedding dress tightly. She had thought he was a gentleman, but he turned out to be just like Gabriel! "If I have to endure it, I can also find someone else." Taking off her veil and handing it to Ethan, Amelia looked at him and said, "Please, Mr. Wilson, inform Gabriel that the wedding is canceled. Thank you." Then, she unzipped her entire dress and removed her earrings and necklaces. In the end, she was left with only a white slip dress. The dress was made of silk, but it was very thin. Her body could be faintly seen through it. Amelia took off all the valuable items in front of Ethan. Barefoot, she began to leave. "Ten million." Amelia still had a hint of anger on her face. Hearing this, she looked at him with confusion and said with impatience, "What?" Ethan said, "Did you eavesdrop on my conversation with Alice Wilson during your last visit to the Davis' home?" Amelia wanted to explain that it was accidental but was interrupted by him. "I need a child, and you fit the bill." Ethan's gaze returned to her face, and he said, "I will give you ten million. Marry me and have a child."
