A new life begins

Hey there, my name is Tierney, and it is very nice to meet you dear reader. I want to tell you a story about love, mercy, adventure, and finally finding myself. I spent the beginning of my life with my Catholic adopted family. I was raised in catholic churches and a catholic school where I had some absolutely amazing and kind teachers. Unfortunately when my adopted mom passed away I began being abused physically, emotionally, and sexually (Dear reader, if you ever find yourself in any of these situations I strongly encourage you to find help. I know it can be scary to stand up against someone who hurt you but it will be worth it. Do some research and you will find plenty of support systems that will help and protect you.) When I was about 11 I was dropped off at my biological mom and step dad's house. They did the best they could for me in the beginning which was hard because, they didn't know I was coming to live with them permanently it was just a drop and dash. I kept going to church every sunday and tried to find the right one. Unfortunately however the physical, s****l, and emotional abuse hadn't stopped, and I wasn't feeling welcomed in any of the churches I went to. I began to feel overwhelmed and began escaping life at the library where I would talk to pen pals online, learning about different cultures and religions. There was this one guy, he kept asking if he could tell me about Islam and I told him no thank you I was happy the way I am. However, one day, after having some problems at home and the church, when I arrived at the library and he asked again I finally agreed. He began telling me about Islam, and the more I heard the more I loved it and wanted to do more research. This is where the most amazing adventure begins.
