"I don't care about that. It's not essential to me, Sevi."
"But it is to me!" I was shocked by what he said. I looked at him in astonishment. What does that mean? What is he doing to me?
Sevi looked at me, and I immediately avoided looking at him. I feel awkward while looking at him, so I am distracted.
"I wish I hadn't come here," I told him, and I immediately went out of his room. I wiped away the tears as soon as I got out and immediately put on my shades again. I was about to walk when I heard a loud bang inside his room. I was stunned and immediately re-entered. I was surprised to see him on the floor, and he seemed to be having difficulty breathing. I just stood in the doorway because I also didn't know what to do. I was stunned when I saw rashes were covering his body.
"Sevi? What's wrong with you?" I asked him, and I sauntered. He then looked at me, "I'm allergic to avocado," he said softly because he was having trouble breathing. My eyes widened, and I looked at the plate beside his bed, and that's when I found out that he had eaten it.
"Sevi? Why didn't you tell me? Wake up!" I said to him while holding him in his arms. I touched the red rashes on his hand. He looked so weak. I was covering my mouth because this was the first time I saw him like this.
"Go away. Don't come near me," Sevi uttered as he was pushing me away.
"Wait. I'm going to go ask for help," I said, and I was about to stand up when Sevi suddenly took my hand.
"You want to kill me, right?"
"No. I didn't do it on purpose. I don't know you're-" I didn't finish what I was about to say when Sevi fainted into my arms.
"Nurse!" I shouted, and a nurse entered his room. He immediately returned to his bed, and the doctor came in to check his condition.
"What happened to him?"
"I don't know that he's allergic to avocado. He ate avocado, and he became weak and got rashes," I said, embarrassed to myself.
"It's good that you noticed right away; his condition might get worse in the case. He's safe now. I have injected him the epinephrine auto-injector to treat his severe allergic reactions," said the doctor.
"His rashes will go away, right?" I ask.
"Yes, but there are others who leave marks or scars," the doctor replied that I was worried. I broke Sevi's smooth skin just because of the fruit I was carrying.
Even before the doctor came out, Eleanor went inside the room. I immediately bowed when I saw her. She looked so confused looking at the doctor.
"What's happening here, doc? What happened to my son?" she asked when she saw Sevi unconscious.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am. I don't know he's an allergy to avocado,"
"But, he's alright, Madam. Don't worry," the doctor said.
Eleanor sighed in relief and looked at her son. The nurse and doctor went out, and she and I were the only ones inside. I was looking down because I didn't know what to tell her. I was so careless that even, in that case, I didn't realize that Sevi was allergic.
"I'm very sorry, Ma'am. I thought the fruit would be good for him, but it turned out to be a disaster to him," I said while bowing my head. I saw her walk towards me, so I raised my head to see her.
"Thank you for the fruits you brought, Megan. Despite your busy schedule, you still thought of bringing his fruit. You didn't know he was allergic to avocadoes, so that's okay,"
"I'm sorry," I repeatedly told her, but she hugged me instead of getting mad at me.
"It's okay,"
I said goodbye to her, and I immediately got into my car. I was inside as I thought about what had happened recently. I can't believe Sevi is getting worst because of me. I was shaking my head and immediately drove off. I went to Dad's house to see and say hello to Reina. I was already out of the house and immediately thought of Reina. I know she was alone at home again because Bella and my other siblings had gone home to their own house. I immediately entered the house, and I felt that the place was quiet and empty. I looked around, and I saw nothing but maids cleaning the house.
"Ms. Megan, welcome back. Your Dad said you can stay here while the police are still investigating what happened in your house," she said to me, and I nodded.
"Where's Reina?" I ask.
"Oh, Ma'am. She left earlier,"
"Where does she seem to be going?"
"I don't know, Ma'am," replied the maid.
I immediately took my cellphone out of my pocket and called Reina's number. It was ringing, but she did not answer. "Where is she?" I asked myself worriedly.
It was six o'clock when Reina went home. I stared at her as I stamped my feet on the ground.
"Where are you from, Reina? Don't you know how worried I am about you?" I sighed in concern for her. She was looking at me with confusion. She swallowed hard while looking at me.
"I ... I went to visit Sevi," she said. My eyes widened as I heard Sevi's name. I don't want to listen to that name now. I am to blame for why he suffered.
"Why did you go don?"
"He called me, Megan,"
"Heh?"
"Yes. He's awake,"
"When?"
"He's fine now, and he wanted to see you," I frowned as I looked at her.
"Me?"
"Yes. Sevi said, you blocked him," I immediately remembered that I had blocked him because of the anger of the one we fought. I sighed deeply, and immediately I unblocked him.
"He told me everything," Reina added as my eyes widened.
"About what?"
"He's allergic to avocadoes, and you buy that," she said.
"I didn't know he was allergic,"
"I know, Megan. I know you wouldn't do such things. You're a good person, and I know it. Everyone may not know about it, but I know it," Reina said with a smile that caused when my eyes water.
"Also, he wanted to talk to you tomorrow," Reina said before she went upstairs. I'm not sure yet if I can face Sevi. In all I did with him, I don't I can. I didn't know if I could meet him. I was sighing deeply as the thought of meeting him again feared me. "What if I can do such things again?" I asked myself repeatedly.
Later that evening, I went to my old room on Dad's house as my house is still under investigation. I looked around, and nothing seemed to change. I then saw a picture frame with my mom and Dad back then when I was a kid. I went closer to the photo and held it.
"Mom..." my eyes went teary as I remembered her. I kneeled as I started to tear up, hugging the picture frame. I miss Mom, and I miss her so much. I don't know if there is a word that can describe how I miss her. All I know, I was crying the whole night while hugging her picture.
The following day, I woke up, and still, the picture frame was still on my arms. I got up from my bed and immediately opened the curtains on the window. A ray of bright sunshine greeted me, which gave me a wide smile. I can hear the chirping of birds outside the beautiful window. I was smiling wide as I could feel the fresh air and saw the dancing trees outside.
I saw Reina with her dog, Raven, outside. She was taking a bath with her dog. I was watching her, and then I realized how Reina grew up fast. She was showering her dog when she accidentally tripped. I immediately went outside and headed in her direction.
"You have to be careful next time, Reina. Look, you have bruises," I said worriedly as I looked at her injured knee. She looked at me and smiled.
"Oh, why are you laughing there? You're already hurt, so you still have time to really smile?"
"I'm happy,"
"About what?"
"You sound like Mom, Megan," she said as I stopped and immediately stood up.
"No, I'm not,"
"Yes, you do,"
"No. I'm not,"
"Yes, you do," she asked teasingly.
"Get back inside when you are done," I said as I walked back inside.
"See? You sounded like Mom," Reina said with a broad smile.
I shake my head while looking at her. Reina's head is a little stiff, and she doesn't sometimes listen to things she doesn't want to hear. I was inside the house when I remembered that Sevi and I would meet later. I went to the bathroom and hurriedly got dressed, and thought about going to the hospital.
After all the preparation, I got out of the house and got in the car. I saw Reina in the door while looking at me, her eyes narrowed.
"What?" I said with no sound. She just smiled at me and waved her hands. I smiled back at her and drove off. I was on the way to the hospital when I received a call from Sevi.
"Let's talk," he directly said.
"I'm on my way there,"
"Okay,"
The call ended, but I could feel the tense atmosphere building up between us already.
I was already outside the hospital when my chest started to throbs fast. I exhaled deeply and went out of the car. As I walked, I randomly felt the loud pounding of my chest. I could also hear the sound coming from my heels on the hospital tiles. "Why do I hear these sounds? Am I being paranoid?" I asked myself that I could not answer either.
I was in front of his room, and I exhaled first before I went in. As I opened the door, I saw Sevi in the bed, sitting down, and then he looked at me as the door opened.
It was awkward as the silence surrounded us. I looked away from Sevi, but he spoke. "I'm sorry about what happened back then. I never meant those harsh words that came out of my mouth. Again, I'm so sorry," I was stunned. Is this for real? Did he say sorry?
"Wait? Is this a dream, right?" I asked him, but he looked at me with a frown.
"Do you have anything to say?" Sevi asked me.
"Huh? Like what?"
"Nothing. Never mind, I think we're good now, aren't we?" Sevi asked me again. Every time I heard him say that, I felt goosebumps. He looks so different from yesterday.
"Yes, we're good now,"
