CHAPTER 1
5:03 AM
Who dares to call me at this time of the day, whoever it might be, must certainly have a death wish. Dave King Grumpy stood up from his bed to look for his phone, wherever it might be. He had barely had thirty minutes of sleep before the disturbing phone call, his secretary would know better than to call him at this time, but he could take a guess and be sure who it was that ruined his much-needed rest.
Gggggggrrrrrrrrrr, the deafening, annoying sound of the phone was coming from the changing room Mark had set this ringtone against my better warning. According to him this annoying song would help uplift my soul anytime the phone rang but contrary to his intention the sound of whatever musical instrument played before the song ended up annoying the hell out of me and I had been tempted to smash the phone a couple of times, but it would only prove that Mark was right and me wrong. And one thing that I Henry Dave King III hated to be and never was is WRONG.
Dave majestically picked up the phone from the dresser table, he must have dropped it here when he came in last night to change from his work clothes. Without looking at the caller's I.D. he picked the call. " Has nobody ever told you that it's rude to call someone at this time of the day? The first thing you should say to someone especially an elder in the morning is Good morning, Henry Dave King I quickly fired back at his grandson, he might love this hotheaded grandson but this grandson of his was also arrogant to the bones.
Tell me why you are calling or I'm ending the call right away, Henry knew this was his grandson, he was not someone to be trifled with, so tried not to push him least he followed through with his threat, This would eventually allow him to distance himself from him for a while and he cannot afford to let that happen. Stop by the mansion for breakfast before leaving for the office. Henry simply said and ended the call, Dave stared at his phone for a while, is this an order or a request? He wondered if his grandfather was not one to be defied, so he would try not to push his luck with him, especially at this time. Now is a very wrong time to get him upset.

What could the cunning old fox want this time, he really would ask me to come to the mansion, because more than anyone he knows how much I hate that place. So why? Enough enough my brain screams. If you want to know why then go see him, What's the worst that can happen, It's not like if you don't go he wouldn't find a way to see you, so why don't you humor him? Dave went into the bathroom to take a cold shower, Since I can't sleep I would need something to jerk me up.
Dressed in an expensive desired black suit, paired with a white shirt and black tie, his chestnut-colored hair was combed and styled neatly to the side. Dave looked like a mythological Greek god that had been transported through time. He quietly walked down the stairs towards the door. Would you like some breakfast Nanny Matilda asked, She knew he rarely had breakfast but she still prepared some for those rare occasions that he chose to eat. No, thank you. I will be having breakfast at the mansion, Sorry I did not inform you earlier to not bother you this morning. It's okay sir, it's my job. Very well then I will see you in the evening, don't make dinner for me and don't wait up for me. I would be having a business meeting over dinner. Alright Sir, Bye then, Dave slightly bowed or did something that seemed like a nod as he walked out of the door.
Good morning Sir, Mr. Silas greeted as he opened the door to the black Ranger Rover, Mr. Silas walked over to the driver's side and started the car, he drove out of their villa and estate. He headed for the route to the office, We will make a quick stop at the mansion before heading to the office, Dave had been tempted to call the Old man bluff and head to the office, but something told him the cunny Old Fox was up to no good hence the change of mind. Mr. Silas has worked with Mr. Dave for fifteen years now and he knew that young Sir rarely went to the mansion, except when Old Sir requested or something serious that required his attention happened. The atmosphere in the car was deadly cold, so it must be his former guess something was definitely up with the old sir because he was the only one Dave always showed face to.
After half an hour's drive the car drove into the mansion and pulled up in front of the entrance.
Dave stepped out of the car before the driver could open the door and walked straight into the mansion. This house displayed every form of wealth and opulence from the tasteful decor to the expensive furniture and interior. The jaw-dropping Victorian-styled house did nothing but irritate the hell out of him, and brought him nothing but bad and sad memories. Each time he stepped into this place it gave him a sick feeling in his stomach that made him want to do nothing but puke his lungs out.
Where is the Old man he asked the first person he saw, he was in the dining room, Dave turned around and walked straight towards the direction of the dining room. Why I'm I here?
Dave was tempted to ask his grandfather but swallowed his anger and mumbled a good morning somewhere from the corner of his mouth. Henry did not spare him a glance and continued eating. Eat Old Henry ordered after a few minutes, Dave quietly filled his plate with omelets and bread and filled his cup with black coffee to wash down his breakfast. After he was done eating, he raised his head and saw his grandfather staring at him.
Old Henry stood up and walked out of the dining room and Dave followed him, till he got to the study, opened the door of the study, walked in, and sat down on one of the sofas there. Dave took a seat opposite him and looked at the old man trying to figure out what he wanted to say to him.
I want you to get married, what!!! Dave spat, I said You should get married, besides it's time you did and give me some great-grandchildren. I don't want to I do not have any intention of doing so anytime soon. Marriage is the least on my mind, Tell me What are the things on your mind Old Henry fired back? For God's sake, you are thirty, Why should the marriage not be on your mind? Well because I have a lot going on right now. Well, it doesn't matter I need you to get married, Old Henry declared, Well, I don't want to Dave retorted. It's either you get married or lose the company. I know how much you have worked to get the companies to where they are, How would you feel if your hard work went to someone else or better still charity? Do not push me, young man. If want to secure your place get married.
