Chapter 8: A Chance Encounter Ava spent the rest of the day in a daze, trying to process her conversation with Julian. She knew that she had hurt him, and she felt guilty for that. But she also knew that she couldn't ignore her feelings and stay in a relationship that didn't feel right for her. As she walked around the city, trying to clear her head, Ava stumbled upon a small coffee shop. She decided to go in and grab a cup of coffee, hoping that the caffeine would help her focus. As she waited in line, Ava noticed a familiar face sitting at a table by the window. It was Liam, sipping on a cup of coffee and staring out at the street. Ava's heart skipped a beat as she felt a rush of excitement. She hadn't expected to run into Liam again, and she wasn't sure if she was ready to face him. But as she reached the front of the line and ordered her coffee, Ava knew that she couldn't avoid Liam. She took a deep breath and walked over to his table, feeling a sense of nervousness. "Hey, Liam," Ava said, trying to sound casual. "Fancy running into you again." Liam looked up and smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Ava, hey. What brings you here?" Ava shrugged and sat down across from him. "Just grabbing a cup of coffee and trying to clear my head. How about you?" Liam leaned back in his chair and sighed. "Just trying to get some work done. I've got a show tonight and I'm still working on the set list." Ava nodded sympathetically. "I remember how stressful it can be to prepare for a show. But you'll do great, Liam. You're an amazing musician." Liam smiled and looked at her, his eyes locked on hers. "Thanks, Ava. That means a lot coming from you." As they chatted, Ava felt a sense of ease and comfort that she hadn't felt in a long time. She realized that she had missed Liam, and that she was happy to have him back in her life. But as they talked, Ava also knew that she had to be careful. She was still engaged to Julian, and she didn't want to lead Liam on or give him the wrong idea. As they finished their coffee and prepared to part ways, Ava felt a sense of uncertainty. She didn't know what the future held, or what would happen between her and Liam. But as she looked into Liam's eyes, Ava knew that she was ready to take a chance. She was ready to see where things would go with Liam, and to explore the feelings that she had for him.
