Eunice didn’t eat for a couple of weeks. She’s been starving herself to death because of what happened in the forest, and she can’t help but recall everything.
Her maid and butler had been trying to convince her to eat, but even though she wanted to, her mind and body were stuck in that scenario when her mate left her.
It’s been three weeks, but their country is still cold because of her ability. She’s been trying to think of a solution to get Percival from Yvette, but she doesn’t know how to, aside from hugging the pain until she gets used to it and lets go of Percival.
“I already knew that he was my mate but what happened?” Eunice muttered and clenched her jaw. “Something’s not right but I can’t figure it out.”
She wondered if it might have been just an error by the Moon Goddess, but she was not convinced.
“What kind of s**t do I have?” she asked herself.
Jasmine suddenly knocked on her door, and she couldn’t believe how cold it was in her room. There’s a lot of crystal ice on her floor and wall. She can even see her reflection on it, but she knew that using her ability could put her life at risk.
“Eunice,” Jasmine greeted her friend, still staring at her window.
Eunice didn’t leave her room and tried to think of something to make her happy, but her mate clouded her mind.
“I still can’t believe that he left me even if I can feel that I was destined to be his mate,” Eunice chuckled painfully.
Her friend suddenly wiped the tears that fell onto her cheek since she couldn’t help but feel sorry for her friend, who always got hurt even if she was still a puppy.
Eunice’s parents died when she was still a puppy because of the hunters who always hunt a Lycan or Vampire. A hundred years had passed, but she knew Eunice could still remember that.
They way she cried for her parents who were lying on the ground lifeless. She even tried to call for their name, hoping that they would wake up but they didn’t.
Jasmine had been with her ever since they both were born so she understands what her friend is feeling.
Her life is full of pain, trauma, sadness and loneliness but one thing for sure, she’s trying her best to be strong.
“Do we need to kidnap you mate?” Jasmine suggested. “His ability is fire, right? You’ve mentioned that before.”
Eunice shook her head upon thinking of her suggestion. That plan isn’t good since Percival is a Crowned Prince and the son of the Alpha King.
That will ignite the war if something bad happens to his child, which she’s trying to avoid.
She loves him but k********g him isn’t a good plan. What she was thinking right now is to be happy even if he’s not with her anymore.
“We can’t do that, Jasmine,” she whispered. “I’m still in my right mind to do something good. I can’t ruin my name just because of my mate who just rejected me because of some she-wolf that he met before.”
Jasmine couldn’t react to what she heard, so instead of trying to convince her to do something, she closed her mouth and stayed in the room for a couple of minutes so Eunice wouldn’t be sad, thinking if she was still worth it.
Being rejected is hard, but Eunice couldn’t believe it was more complicated than she had thought. Her emotions are draining her energy, even if she’s trying to fight.
But since it was her mate, she couldn’t help but get furious, hurt, and betrayed, making her emotionless.
After a few minutes, an idea popped into her that she couldn’t help but grin.
If Eunice can’t have him, she will try to move on even if seeing Percival with someone else hurts her.
She now thinks of being happy and returning to her old self, who doesn’t worry about other creatures’ feelings and problems.
Eunice stood up, and her lips curved slightly, even if it looked creepy to Jasmine, who was looking at her.
She swallowed hard and tried to think of something to make her friend happy.
“I’ve heard that there will be an upcoming banquet for elite families in our country,” she explained.
Since Eunice had been in her room for a long time, Jasmine knew that she hadn’t heard the news, which caught Eunice’s attention.
“How come that I didn’t know about that?” Eunice asked.
Jasmine shrugs her shoulders and places the invitation card on the edge of her bed. “Maybe because you’re the reason for the winter season in our country? Or maybe they are afraid of you because you’re furious? I don’t know. I’m not sure but they gave me your invitation so I’m here to deliver it and to make sure that you’re okay.”
Eunice’s forehead crumpled when she glanced at the invitation on her bed. Although Jasmine had a point, she still couldn’t believe that no one even dared to invite her to the approaching gathering.
Lycans knew about Eunce’s ability, so no one dared talk to her because there might be a possible reason for them to freeze into death.
Eunice went to her bed and reached the invitation that Jasmine had delivered. Opening the letter, she saw her name written in the greetings.
“So it was a formal theme, huh?” she murmured. However, since they are Lycans and are sensitive to noises, Jasmine heard that but didn’t say anything. “So we will be looking for a dress tomorrow.”
Eunice beamed when she remembered that she would be starting her revenge tomorrow, which was the biggest glow-up she had been doing.
She plans to change her fashion style so no one will notice that she was affected by Percival’s rejection and his mate, Yvette.
She had no plans to trap herself in that man who had no clue she was his real mate. All she wants to do now is to be happy and carefree as revenge.
Eunice also starts to suspect that there’s a possibility that the news has already informed every Lycan in their country since they all saw how close they were before. They are inseparable, but when Yvette appeared, her life changed.
“You’re planning on something,” Jasmine stated when their eyes met.
She saw the glow in Eunice’s eyes and couldn’t help but feel nervous when a sweet yet evil smile appeared on her lips.
“How did you know, Jasmine?” she inquired, even if it was already written on her face.
“Your face says so,” Jasmine explained. “And we already know each other so it’s impossible for me to recognize the expression on your face even if you’re cold sometimes.”
Eunice shook her head and bit her lower lip before glancing at the window of her room, where she could still see the ice falling from the sky.
The trees were coated with her ability, and she couldn’t hide her happiness whenever she saw her ability in her environment.
“I’m sure that Yvette and Percival will attend the gathering,” she said before raising her hand to lower the temperature again in their country.
