Chapter 41 – To Mars
One week later, Mercury was far behind.
Dale entered the lounge for the flight crew. There were other passengers aboard the God's Eye Nebula, and Dale had had enough of being the center of attention. The pilots had graciously allowed him the use of their facilities. They were private, and provided the peace and quiet he wanted.
Zack was already there, watching a news broadcast on the large media screen. He turned when Dale entered. “How's she doing?”
“Same as before.” Dale plopped down on the sofa next to him and sighed. “Vitals are weak, but steady. The pod's keeping her alive, but just barely.”
