Chapter Twenty-OneZero sat up, her nose crinkling as something stirred in the back of her mind. It was familiar, and yet not. Someone, somewhere was waking, and she could feel him stretching. She shook her head and put her feet on the ground.
For a moment, it all felt wrong, like she was meant to be somewhere else, then there was a knock on the door and it opened to reveal Dr. Anthony.
“I see you're feeling better.”
“Good as new, Doc. How's your other patient?”
“Well, he's able to communicate more.” Dr. Anthony took a couple steps into the room. “His name is Jeffrey Moore. He's a teacher at a night school in Baltimore.”
She'd gathered that much information during her foray into his mind. “Does he remember anything?”
He shrugged. “Not that he's said. He knows what he did, however.”
