Rayan!!!” I screamed as the car crashed into a building, setting it on fire. Broken glass splattered all over the road, followed by the thudding sound of his little frame hitting harshly against the ground.

The red SUV geared up again, violently freeing itself from the rubbles. I watched as the car reversed sharply, and sped off, leaving dust trails.

A crowd quickly gathered as I rushed across the road, my lips quivering against each other.

“Rayan” I screamed again, falling to my knees, as I picked his lifeless looking frame off the ground and pulled him into my arms.

“Help me please…

Someone,… anyone, …please…

He’s all that I’ve got…” I croaked, my voice desperate and heavy with emotions.

CHAPTER.ONE
THE WEDDING ROSELYN’S POV “Stop this wedding immediately!” William blared as he stormed into our wedding venue. His deep baritone voice carried an unusual coldness, sending chills down my spine. Like lightning speed, murmuring voices immediately filled the entire hall, as confusion spread like wildfire. “What’s going on?” I could hear the voices say. My maid of honor, Tracy and I exchanged glances, as I managed to find my voice. “Will, what's wrong? Why are you putting a stop to our wedding?” I finally managed to say, my voice a little above a whimper. “You dare ask me what’s wrong? You disgust me, Roselyn Colbert! How dare you feign innocence? How dare you attempt to play on my intelligence? You’ve made a mockery of me and of my love for you. Damn, I promise you Roselyn, I'm going to make you pay!” William spat, his voice echoing off the church walls. “Baby,... I don't understand... what’s going on! I love you, you know I do! I’d never make a mockery of you!” I tried to explain. “Shut the f**k up, b***h. I haven't even started with you, I’m so going to make a mess of you, you’d never be able to walk with your head held high ever again!” I felt the heat rise to my face, and teardrops welled up in my eyes. My eyes burned as each tear drop trickled down, one after the other, wetting my cheeks. “You wanna know what’s going on right!?” William said, his voice sounded stern and vile. “Alright! I’ll show you exactly what's going on!” Immediately, the LED display screen on the altar area of the church was turned on, and what seemed like a slideshow of pictures was displayed on the screen. What followed was the gasping voices of guests, and cameras flashing. “Oh my God, is that Roselyn?” Someone whispered. “ I knew she was too good to be true,” another added. The tears had clouded my vision, making my sight blurry. I rubbed my palms all over my face as fast as I could, so I could get a clear view of what was displayed on the screen. “ This has to be a joke...” I muttered to myself. I couldn't stop my mouth from falling open in awe. My belly churned roughly as I beheld the sight staring me in the face. On the LED screen were provocative pictures of me, with another man. The man’s face buried between my cleavage, my legs around his body, and his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. “No... No... No...” I muttered in disbelief, as I hurried over to William, taking his hand in mine, but he pulled away from my grip, shoved me off roughly, and pushed me to the ground. “Get your hands off of me!” He blared. “Baby, you’ve got to listen to me, that isn't me! I didn't do this will, You’ve got to believe me!” I explained desperately. My face had turned blood red, and teardrops rolled down my cheeks profusely. William and I had been together for two years, and I was certain he loved me deeply. His family was NewYork’s wealthiest, still it didn't matter to him that I was poor and orphaned. He protected me, from everything and everyone, including his family. William is my life, the reason for my very existence. When he proposed a month ago, he promised to protect me with his life, and we couldn't wait to spend the rest of our lives together. I can't believe that I'm about to lose the love of my life and on what was meant to be the start of our happily ever after - our wedding day. I should have known something was off the moment I noticed Will was running late, but of course, I was too busy daydreaming. “Take it off her this moment!” I heard a familiar voice blare out. “Make sure you remove every single item purchased with money from the Hammonds!” The voice was that of Jacklyn Hammond, William’s mother. “I won't allow this slut return to the dump from where she came with items purchased with my son's money.” she scoffed. Her guards pulled at me, forcefully ripping off my wedding dress. They took off every piece of jewelry, including the diamond-plated engagement ring William got for me. “Stop this please,” Tracy said, as she rushed over to me, pulling my body into her arms. My sister Tracy was my only surviving relative. Our parents passed away in a car crash five years ago, and I couldn't think of anyone more perfect to walk me down the aisle. She also doubled as my maid of honor, and boy was I glad to have her with me. I sank into her embrace, wailing uncontrollably as she defended me. “Please stop,” Tracy continued. “My sister doesn't deserve to be treated this way, Where’s your humanity? I don’t believe Rose did any of what you're accusing her of, her only offense was loving your son!” “Of course, it’s an offense for her to love my son. Sluts like you and your sister don't belong with the likes of my son!” Mrs Hammond snapped. “ I always knew this day would come,…” she continued. “…it was only a matter of time. Trash always returns to the dump from where it came, and you my dear, are no more than used-up trash.” “This is only the beginning Roselyn, No one who dares make a mockery of my family lives to see another day, you won’t be an exception. “I'm certain you know the wedding guest list was filled with New York's crème de la crème, from every notable industry including the media. I’m going to make sure that your little stunt is on every media station and blog site. Let’s see how you live through the ridicule.” She chuckled, as she walked out of the hall. “I never want to see you again Roselyn…” William whispered, following her out the door. “Will, wait,… we can talk this out,” I said, pulling my body from Tracy's embrace, attempting to chase after William. Two men from William’s guards quickly grabbed my arm, holding me back while I struggled with them. Just then, I caught sight of a familiar face at the back of the church. A man, with stormy eyes and smirked lips. “I've seen this man before…” I thought to myself, “But where exactly?” My vision was beginning to fade, and I could feel my knees buckling. Before I could get a hold of myself, my knees gave in, and everything around me shattered into black.
