S01 EP07: Second Spirit

Max went to the path that leads the way to the destination where lne of the Seven Spirits of the animals located. Unlike Palasso and Brax, Max travelled without his horse due to he turned his own horse into meat so he can have some food to eat during his stops.

Max is the type of a person who is thinking practically and will do whatever it takes to survive and to fulfill his mission. He became the blacksmith due to his outstanding forgemanship and fighting skills. He has the ability to summon variety of weapons with different designs and combat attributes. Meaning to say, Max can wield any weapon except from the weapons of Goddess Athena. Max exchanged his right to get light from the Goddess Athena to summon endless amount of weapons as long as he has mana.

Max chose that in order to protect his family, the villagers and the palace. When things goes sideways and his friends are unarmed, he can summon and lend them weapons to fight back. All he need to do is to summon the anvil which is the gift of Goddess Athena herself. Max was very thankful for this ability that he have.

After a week of travelling, he stumbles upon the ruins and where he decided to make a small settlement to spend the night and regain his energy. Before he made himself comfortable, he walk around the ruins to check the surroundings and when it was clear, Max picks up some pieces of tree branches to collect and some dried grass as well for the bonfire later at night.

At night, the skies are dark and no sign of stars. The surrounding is dark in the area of ruins even if the moon is shinning up the skies. As time passes by, it get's darker and darker around and because of that, Max decided to light up the pile of branch he collected. He scratch two pieces of rocks together to make a spark to the grass but it is not working. So Max decided to stand up and went tograb his forging hammer and to take the spare horse shoe. He plans to make a spark by smashing the horse shoe on the center of the pile to make a fire.

Max: Alright... I hope this works this time.

Max to go back to the pile of tree branch with dry grass and he stood infront it then stretches his neck and get on his knee. He placed the horse shoe on the center and covered it with grass and when he went for his forging hammer and raised it like he is about to smash the horse shoe, the ruins suddenly gets brighter.

(Max dropped his hammer)

Max: What's this?!

The surrounding was bright he barely can see a thing. Max raise his hand to block the bright light that is covering his vision and he had a glance of an image forming from the light.

Max: Wha-what was that?

(Max walks forward slowly to approach the image)

Max: HEY!

The brightness of the light shines brighter making him to look down on the ground and he closed his eyes. He can feel the light passes through his skin and for almost ten minutes, the light fades away.

(Max exhaling deep)

Max: What was that just now?

Max looks at the direction where the light came from and he saw the image so he went for his forging hammer and stand up on his feet. When the image stops glowing, he made another look and he saw the image Taurus.

Max: Is... Is that... One of the Seven Spirits of Goddess Athena?

(Max walks forward slowly to approach Taurus)

Taurus turns around and saw Max. He thinks that he was a threat so he went to his offense mode by scratching his right leg on the ground and snorting smoke from his nose.

Max: Woaaahhh! Woah! Relax!

Taurus shaking his head and keeps scratching his feet on the ground.

Max: I'm friendly... Not gonna hurt you... I am not a threat... Okay?

Taurus tackles forward to Max and he managed to avoid the tackle attack of Taurus. When Taurus missed, he quickly turned around to charge his second attack against Max.

(Max stomps on the ground)

Max: Alright! That's it!

(Max smashes his forging hammer to summon a bigger hammer)

Max: I have no time to waste here. Come with me!

Taurus tackles forward to Max and Max raised his big hammer to block the attack by protecting his chest but half way of the attack Taurus transformed into half human. Max was surprised and Taurus punches the big hammer upwards giving an opening to Max's stomach and Taurus punches him to the stomach with a power blow of a punch.

Max: Gaaaccckkk!!

(Max flew all the way back to the ruins wall)

Taurus: It's been a while since I punched someone that strong...

Max grabbed bothe sides of the hole from the wall to stand up and he spits his blood on the ground.

Max: That was good... It's been a long time since I felt something powerful as that.

(Max got on his feet again)

Max: I won't be easy on you!

(Max dashes head on to perform front attack against Taurus but he blocked it)

Taurus: Predictable attack.

Max: Hmph!

Max summons new weapons by striking his forging hammer three times to summon a combat mace, large axe and a shield from different directions of Taurus. Taurus moves his head on where the weapons are and when he got his eyes back on front Max is approaching infront of him.

Max: Raaaahhh!!

Taurus regained his balance and got his hand on the big hammer and threw it back to Max at full speed but Max managed to catch it and proceeds to attack Taurus.

Taurus: Checkmate!

Taurus attempted to punch Max as he tried to do a head on clash but Max performed a spin to his side and then smashes his big hammer pushing him to the other weapons direction.

Taurus: Fast and powerful at the same time!

Taurus bursting towards the second weapon and Max appeared on the weapon. He holds it and prepares to swing to hit Taurus on the other side but Taurus set his muscle-armor on that side so he won't take a serious damage from the attack.

Taurus: Here it comes!

(Taurus tried to change his body position while being pushed)

Max tackles forward and stepped his right foot first and spins around Taurus landing on the other side and crouched then slam his combat mace to Taurus stomach pushing him upwards.

Taurus: What was that?!

Taurus was contemplating his movements while being pushed up in the air.

Tauris: This movement.. I think I've seen this before but not as powerful as this.

Max dashes ahead of Taurus and he went to grab his large axe then charged him while Taurus's back is exposed. Taurus can't turn his body because he is on the air and he can only move if his feet can land on something.

Taurus: THIS IS NOT GOOD!

Taurus attempted to increase his muscle-armor on his back but Max aimed for his lower hips and pushed Taurus all the way down to the ground.

(Taurus grunting)

Taurus landed on the ground facing it and Max landed on the ground as well with his feet not far away from Taurus.

Taurus: Impressive...

Taurus got back up on his knee while his muscle-armor are breaking into pieces and turning into golden dust.

(Taurus stretches his neck)

Taurus: Your attacks are powerful enough to break my first level of defense and I underestimated you...

Taurus's muscle-armor is breaking more and starts to fall off the ground and turns into golden dusts.

Max: He is removing his armor? Why...

Taurus: You managed to penetrate the 3rd layer... However-

(Taurus disappeared and appears in front of Max)

Max: He gotten much faster?!

Max jumps over to avoid Taurus's attack and got behind him but Taurus regained his balance and gave a powerful elbow to Max pushing him all the way to the right side. Max managed to block the attack by using the large axe as cover.

Max: So that's the reason why he removed his armor... I forgot about that ability.

(Max gasps)

Max's large scattered to pieces due to battle damage and then he remembers now that the higher the level of muscle-armor that is removed to Taurus, the lighter and faster he gets. After realizing Taurus ability, Taurus rushes forward to him from the smoke and Max stomps his feet forward to summon his shield. Taurus was surprised but he continued to land his punch against it and kicks on Max's shield to push himself away from him.

Taurus: I see... So you can also summon defensive weaponry?

Max: I can summon any combat weapons and defense-focused weapons. That's the gift from Goddess Athena.

Taurus: What do you know about Goddess Athena?

Max: Save the conversation for later!

Max smashes his forging hammer on the ground which makes the floor to have cracks and Taurus jumped higher. From above, Taurus had a glance below the cracks and he saw that there is a massive anvil that covers the whole area of the ruins.

Taurus: What's this?!

From the cracks Taurus saw a light shines and sparkles, it was weapons coming on his way. Taurus blocking each attacks which makes him stuck mid-air.

Taurus: This is not good! I need to figure out a way back down.

Max: I won't let you touch the ground...

Taurus: Since when did you casted the anvil under the ground?

(Weapons clanging)

Max: I have placed it since I set foot here at the ruins and while I was making my temporary settlement to spend the night and continue my mission to look for seven spirits.

(Taurus keeps on blocking the attacks)

Max: I've done this so I can easily summon endless amount of weapons.

Taurus: Very smart... However!

Taurus catches one weapon mid-air and he stepped his feet on the handle bar of the weapon and used it to dash forward to Max at full speed.

Taurus: Checkmate!

Max: Hmph!

Max summons a shield and manages to avoid the attack of Taurus. Max's summoning of endless weapons are continues causing Taurus to jump on the air again.

Max: Like I've told you... I won't let your feet touch the ground. I know you are strong on the ground combat but you can't do anything mid-air unless you have something to land on to.

Taurus: He knew?!

Max: I know about you... So... Let's finish this!

Max summoned another forging hammer and strikes the ground with a pattern like he is striking a drum. The weapons on the air around Taurus stopped and starts to glow then became chains. The chains wrapped around Taurus's neck, hips, arms and legs.

Taurus: What?!

Taurus attempted to increase his muscle-strength and his feet lands on one of the chains and dashes forward to Max on the ground.

Taurus: MAAAXXXX!!

Max: This is the end... Cage of Heavens!

Max summoned a large gate trapping Taurus inside and the chains got tighten up. Even if Taurus tries to resist stronger, he couldn't break free.

(Taurus grunting)

Max: No creature has able to espace that cage. Now... Say the words and I'll set you free.

Taurus: How can I assure that you are on the side with the good?

Max: I was one of the chosen one's of Xavier, husband of Goddess Athena. And now I am serving under their son, Light who is now the current reigning king of the mankind.

Taurus: Xavier... Goddess Athena...

Max: I swore with all my life to protect mankind even if my life is in danger or needs to be the payment for them to survive.

(Taurus calmed his body down and relaxed his muscle)

Taurus: Alright then...

(Taurus's muscle turned back to normal state)

Taurus: As one of the Seven Spirits of Goddes Athena, I, Taurus, is declaring my defeat fighting this human in front of me. I am allowing him to use my strength and powers to fulfill his duty to protect humanity against the forces of evil.

Max: Release!

The chains wrapped around Taurus are gone and the cage vanished. Taurus stretches his arms and body from being leashed on earlier.

(Max reach his hand to Taurus to help him up)

Max: We will take a break from here. We will make our move on the sunrise.

(Taurus grabbed his hand to stand)

Taurus: Your moves... I think I've seen those movements before.

Max: It was my dad's technique. He taught me that but I enhanced it to be more effective on the field.

Taurus: Your fathers technique was quiet impressive. When I was once with the humans before, I train them to become a better fighter and protectors of the palace incase of emergency.

Max: Actually, this is the second time we fought. Do you remember you brought someones body back home to his family and-

Taurus: You were that kid who opened the door? Time flies so fast indeed.

(Both sat down on large rocks)

Max: We fought when I was a recruit back then. You defeated me on that day and yet you nominated me to become one of the first Seven Defenders.

Taurus: Because you have strength and determination just like your father...

(Taurus reaches for the grass and chewed it)

Max: How does it taste?

Taurus: This?

(Taurus continued chewing)

Taurus: Its like a veggie.

(Max tried to taste it too)

Max: Mmghh!

(Max spits it on the ground)

Taurus: NYAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Max: Geez... That's kinda taste gross...

Taurus: Anyway...

(Taurus swallowed the chewed grass)

Taurus: Allow me to honor your father by telling you more about him. I was once his mentor and among those shielders who I trained, he excels above them along in the field. I had a toe to toe battle with your father and managed to destroy the second layer of my muscle-armor, a pure mortal without any powers from Goddess Athena. He has pure natural human strength and endurance from like a tamarraw.

(Taurus stands up to pick up grass to eat)

Max: If my father was a shielder then why Goddess Athena chose me to have the ability of forging?

Taurus: Hmp. I knew you'll ask me that question...

Taurus removed his left pauldron and turns around to walk towards Max then Taurus crushed his pauldron to golden dust and then he spilled the golden dusts on the ground and it showed the image of Seven Spirits.

Taurus: Now... Listen carefully... Me and the Seven Spirits has different abilities and divided into seven fields in combat, designed to protect humanity, and fight against Diablo along with his forces from the underworld...

(Flashback from back story)

When Goddess Athena died after giving birth to Light, we are just normal animals on that time. Goddess Athena summoned us and she gave us the ability to transform into half human half animal and has diffirent abilities base on our class for combat.

Taurus,the Toughest. Taurus symbolizes the spirit of tamarraw and serves as the power-forward of the Seven Spirits. He has the strength, endurance and ability to increase his power punches. As long as his feet is on the ground he can move freely and fast enough but, be warned, if Taurus has 5 layers of armor. Each level of armor has 5 levels, 1st is the lightest and 5th is the heaviest and last layer. The higher the level of armor he removes from his body, the lighter gets and the faster he can move. His weakness is if his feet is not on the ground surface, he is not able to manuever his body due to his muscle-mass.

Thrope the Savage. He symbolizes the spirit of wolf. He has the ability to move faster than Aguilla and Taurus on his lightest weight. He possess the combination of speed and gility with power force. With his weapon of choice the double short sickles it allows him to s***h his enemies quick and no trace of blood. Thrope has the ability to sense his enemies presence within the range of his spell that can reache even from a mile. His weakness is his ankles.

Meduza the Stealthy Queen, symbol of snake. Meduza has the ability to turn her self to vanish and enabling her to blend in with the surrounding. With the use of her poisonous weapons, daggers and bow n arrow, she can make his enemies suffer if they got wounded even if a tiny scratch. Her weakness is her tail.

Aguilla he is the Eye of the Skies. Carrying the symbol of eagle, he has a wide view of range and the ability to scan places through miles with his own eyes. His weakness is blinding.

Groc the Hard Skin symbolizing the crocodile. He is the shield of the Seven Spirits. Just like Taurus he is tough but Groc is heavier than him which makes him a little slow. Carrying a huge shield that can expand its size to equal the elemental skill he is going to block. His weakness are his wrist.

Hound the Tracker, symbolizes the spirit of hyena. By the name himself, he can track the enemies in surface land and can sense enemy presence from miles just like Thrope. With his weapon of choice, double daggers he is able to perform quick and effective attacks against his enemies.

And last but not the least is the leader of the Seven Spirits. Leo the Pride, symbol of a lion. He wields a huge sword and only him can lift it himself like he is just holding a broom stick. With great power, endurance and muscle, Leo can still equal the speed of Thrope, Hound and Aguilla. He converts his battle damage taken during the fight into energy which allows him to increase his strength. Leo's weakness is his overpower. If activates his ability of overpower, it consumes his internal organs. The more and the longer he use that ability, the weaker he gets and his internal organs will burn which can bring him to his possible death.

(Going back to the present)

Max: I understand now, the book from the Holy Library also said there other branches of different combat weapons and shields?

Taurus: Yes... Tamarraw and Crocodile represents power weapons which are knuckles and shield. While the extend branches of these two are power gauntlets, mace, big hammers, shields and forging hammer.

(Flash backs to the past)

Thrope, Aguilla and Hound are all on speed and agility. The birth of dual wield weapons arise from them as two-daggers, dual short sickles, dual scythes, chained daggers, and dual short spears. This where the single handed weapons appeared too such as broad sword, katana, and knives.

Meduza is more on stealth and range, so the birth of variations of bow are improved in every generation.

And of course Leo who represents strength. His huge swords influenced most of the weaponry in combat which inspires the blacksmiths to create massive and longer weapons such as halberd, lance, two handed spear, javelin, combat axe and other more weapons.

(Back to the present)

Taurus: Humans are learning and improving each and every generation that passes by.

Max: I see. That's why I'm not a shielder because I am inheritted the extend branch of my father's choice of combat field.

Taurus: Indeed. And I am proud you developed his techniques.

While they are talking they heard an incoming noise approaching and it was a molten magma. Taurus managed to block the first attack but when he hits that magma splashes on to him leaving a burnt mark on his forearm.

(Taurus grunts)

Max: You good?

Taurus: This is nothing...

Max: Looks like Diablo's forces are here now.

(Underworld army appeared from the dark mist while laughing)

Taurus: There's a lot of them...

Max: I can wipe them all out if im going to summon my endless weapons but I am low on mana right now.

(Underworld army chuckles on the background)

Taurus: How long do you need?

Max: I'm not sure maybe half an hour would be enough.

Taurus: That's a long wait but I can buy you some time.

Max sat down on the middle of the ruins and summons shield to protect himself while regenerating and some armors for Taurus to increase his defense.

Taurus: I will go all out this time.

Max: Don't force yourself too much.

Taurus: Worry about yourself Max, I can handle my own.

Underworld army runs toward Taurus but while they are charging towards him, Taurus dashes forward to them and smashes the ground turning some of them into ashes. Some weapons of them can destroy his armor luckily Max forged some more for him so he can conserve his muscle-armor. While Taurus is going all out he and Max sensed a strong entity approaching.

Max: Taurus watch out!

Taurus: Wha-!

Some of the underworld army grabbed his shoulder and stunned him then a molten magma landed on Taurus's back.

(Taurus groans)

Underworld army are laughing as Taurus got down on his knee and a lower member of the seven pillars from underworld appeared.

Ghazkuh: So... You are one of the Seven Spirits that Dark Orb wanted to have his hands on to...

Ghazkuh walks forward to Taurus and he grabbed Taurus's horns and hit him with a knee under his jaw causing his right horn break it.

(Taurus grunts and fell on the ground)

Ghazkuh: Let me see the power of the seven spirits...

(Ghazkuh crushed Taurus's horn and absorbed his power)

Max: Taurus!

Ghazkuh: Aaahhh! Not bad!

Ghazkuh's body got covered by the molten magma and serves as his layered armor similar to Taurus.

Max: I'm coming to get you!

Taurus: No! Stand back!

(Taurus stands up from the smoke)

Taurus: He is mine...

Ghazkuh: Awww... Are you fully decided?

Taurus: Nnngggrrraaaaaa!!

Taurus charges forward to Ghazkuh and deploys his power punches but Ghazkuh is dodging and blocking most of his attack.

Ghazkuh: Is that it?!

Ghazkuh made a step backwards and Taurus missed his smash causing Ghazkuh to have an opening for Taurus's face and he kicked him with power.

(Taurus flew and landed on one of the ruin wall)

Taurus grabbed the two sides of the hole on the wall he caused and asked Max.

Taurus: I can't defeat him at this rate... I might need your assistance.

Max: Almost there!

Taurus: Lend me few armors more... I got a plan.

Max summoned five more armors and continued to regain his mana while Taurus engages Ghazkuh and to have a head on clash. The some of the members of underworld army attempted to sneak behind Taurus to go to Max but they all failed due to Taurus is going back and fort to fight Ghazkuh and protect Max at the same time.

Ghazkuh: You are making me impressed Taurus! GIVE ME MORE!

Taurus: Max? Talk to me.

Max: One more minute.

Taurus: Finally. I'll play a little offense against him.

Max: DON'T!

Taurus: Huh?

Max: Save it...

Max undo the shields and stands up then walk beside Taurus.

Taurus: Took you long enough.

Max: Guess I owe you a lot of grass...

Ghazkuh: Things are getting interesting...

(Max and Taurus on their battle stance)

Ghazkuh: COME ONNNNN!!

Max and Taurus engages Ghazkuh. Max is attacking from range and close quarters while Taurus is countering Ghazkuh's attacks which allows Max to have better openings to aim at.

Ghazkuh: Grrraaaggghhhh!!

Ghazkuh jump smashes Taurus but he managed to block the attack and Max threw a halberd on Ghazkuh's stretched arm causing it to be cut off. Then Ghazkuh stepped backwards to grow his arm back as it regenerated, Taurus removed his 5th layer of muscle-armor and dashed forward to Ghazkuh. Taurus gave Ghazkuh an upper cut and then followed by multiple power punches on Ghazkuh's stomach and his final punch intention is to push him up the air.

Ghazkuh: Gaaacckkk!!

Taurus: MAX!! NOOOWWWW!!

Max strikes the ground revealing his underground anvil and the endless amount of weapons starts flying towards Ghazkuh.

Ghazkuh: What?!

(Ghazkuh groans)

Ghazkuh: DIEEEE!!

Taurus fighting the remaining underworld army and then Ghazkuh summoned rain of molten magma to counter Max's endless weapon summoned.

Max: Taurus watch out!!

Taurus and the members of the underworld army took damage from Ghazkuh's attack. Luckily Taurus was safe because of Max's spare armor which is near him.

Ghazkuh: I... Am... Ghazkuh. 6th member of the Lower Pillars from the Underworld can not be defeated by the likes of both of you!

Ghazkuh turned his remaining army into magma and his body absorbed them to gain more power.

Max: Whats going on?!

Taurus: This doesn't look good!

Ghazkuh: HAHAHAHAHAHA! YEEESSSS!!

(Taurus and Max stood beside each other)

Ghazkuh: BEHOOOOLD MY POWER!

Ghazkuh raised his hand and summons a giant molten magma on the sky.

Taurus: WHA-?!

Max: We got to do something!

Max strikes the ground to continuesly attack Ghazkuh with his endless weaponry and then Taurus asked him.

Taurus: Can you still make armors?

Max: I still got more than enough.

Taurus: Good!

(Taurus stands infront of Max)

Taurus: Listen. Make as many as you can and let them all get attached to my muscle armor. I will face the giant molten magma.

Max: Alright!

Taurus: Then use your remaining mana to summon the chains and cage and trap him inside. I will lure him in for you and I'm going to deliver him my final blow from the remaining power and strength.

Ghazkuh: TIME IS UP! NOW DIEEEE!

Ghazkuh released the giant molten magma but Taurus dashes up the air to destroy that. Ghazkuh attempted to stop Taurus but Max is summoning a lot of weapons seem to be endless causing Ghazkuh to stop and got no other option but to block the attacks to fulfill Taurus's plan.

Taurus: SCATTEEERRRR!!

(Taurus landed his punch to the giant molten magma and cracks then breaks into pieces)

Ghazkuh: THATS IMPOSSIBLEEEE!!!

Ghazkuh screamed so loud and tackles Taurus then they landed on the hillside. Ghazkuh pierces Taurus's stomach with using hia molten hand.

Ghazkuh: It is because you! RAAAGGGHHHHH!!

Taurus: MAAAAXX! NOWWWW!

Max: THIS IS THE END FOR YOUUUU!!

Max successfully casted the spell of the chains and cage he used to hold off Taurus then when the chains are wrapped around him he can't do anything else but to accepts his fate.

Ghazkuh: NOOOOOO!!

Taurus: No where to go...

Max and Taurus: Ghazkuh!

Taurus regained his power and energy then proceeds to deploy his final power punch to Ghazkuh's chest and then when his lava core appeared.

(Taurus hand pierces through Ghazkuh's back and Taurus hand has the lava core)

Taurus: It's an honor to face a strong opponent like you...

(Ghazkuh slowly turning into ashes)

Ghazkuh: Same to me... Taurus...

Taurus closed his eyes and crushed the lava core leaving Ghazkuh's helmet on the ground. Max stopped the striking the ground and the floor closes.

(Max walking towards Taurus)

Max: We made it...

(Max tapped Tauru's shoulder)

Max: Didn't mean to ruin the moment. But... We have to go now and head back to the palace.

Taurus: Don't let your guard down on our way back.

Max: Yeah... We might encounter more along the way. You good?

Taurus: Worry about yourself Max.

Max: Just asking to make sure...

Taurus: Heh! Why so worried mortal?

Max: I just don't want to drag you on the ground all the way back home.

(Taurus stops walking and tilts his head and Max turns around to look at him)

Max: Just saying

(Max raise his both hands and smirks)

Taurus: I am not heavy!

Max: Yes you are hahahaha!

Taurus: You are heavy. Look at yiur bloated belly!

(Max looks down on his belly)

Max: Oy!

Taurus: HAHAHAHAHAHA!

(Max rubs his hands on his belly and drums it)

Max: This ain't bloated! I just don't exhale the air I breath.

Taurus: Rriiiggghht!

Taurus and Max continue to travel back to the palace. They don't know what awaits them on the road but they are ready to fight against threat if they encounter one on their way.

Meanwhile, Ghazkuh's death was witnessed by Dark Orb's flying eye which is connected to the underworld council's room.

Third Council: So... One of the Seven Spirits has shown himself...

Second Council: Taurus... The spirit of tamarraw...

Fourth Council: I knew this is going to happen... We should have sent one of the Seven Sins instead.

Dark Orb: It's alright... Lower Pillars are just pawns to test the abilities of each defenders and capabilities of the spirits.

First: Our plan of sending the Seven Sins straight head on to the palace after the defenders left is the wisest strategy to do.

Dark Orb: We don't want to risk our higher one's but we can offer pawns instead.

Third Council: Make sure this will work as planned.

Dark Orb: Don't worry Third... We will bring the king of the underworld back here and we will make him stronger than before..

Second Council: That's only the first spirit... What is the situation of the rest?

Fourth Council: We lost two Lower Pillars already... Bloodlust the 7th and Ghazkuh the 6th.

(Dark Orb reveals the images of the five remaining members marching on their way)

(Dark Council whispering and some of them nodding)

Dark Orb: And now... The situation from Seven Sins...

Dark Orb showed the current situation of the Seven Sins and as they look at it, the image of fire was reflecting on their eyes and screams can be heard.
