Prologue
Amidst the dimly lit room, a soft glow emanated from the lamp, casting a warm hue over the young woman hunched at the desk. Her hand moved gracefully, penning heartfelt words onto the blank canvas of the paper.
My Dear Brother and Sister,
I'm sorry if I'm going somewhere. I just need time for myself and peace.
Also, I always planned to go in Verdantis, but the countless missions and tasks left me exhausted.
I have made up my mind to go to Verdantis.
I hope you read this and can find it in your hearts to forgive and forget about me.
Please protect our siblings; that's the only thing I can ask of you and tell others about. I'm happy to have met them all.
Your Loving Sister,
Violet
As the dawn broke, the sounds of the city stirring seeped into the retro hotel room. Violet, having poured her emotions onto the page, stood up, extinguishing the lamp's gentle glow.
A sense of determination engulfed her as she packed her essentials into her worn backpack.
Adorned in a denim jacket, black t-shirt, dark pants, and a cap, she was ready to embark on a journey, seeking solace in the enigmatic city of Verdantis.
Outside her home, a man approached the door, his knock unanswered. With trepidation, he opened the door, finding a letter left behind. The man's eyes scanned the contents, realization dawning on him.
"This is bad," he muttered, his heart sinking with the weight of the words.
In haste, he reached for his phone, trembling fingers dialing a number. "Bad news," he said urgently, his voice filled with concern, "she's gone."
In the bustling shore of teeming with people engrossed in their daily activities, Violet approached a weathered fisherman, hoping he could assist her in reaching the shoreside of the country.
''Excuse me, sir. I hope I'm not interrupting your work, but I'm in need of some help''
The man turned towards her with a warm smile
''Not at all, young lady. What can I do for you?''
''I'm looking to get to the shore side of Verdantis. I've heard it's a beautiful and serene place. Would you happen to know anyone who could take me there?''
'' Ah, the shore side is indeed a sight to behold. But it's not an easy journey, my dear. It's a remote and secluded area, and not many venture there. May I ask why you want to go there?''
she hesitated for a moment, then speaking earnestly
''Well, uhm. The shoreside seems like the perfect place for reflection and healing''
The man nodding thoughtfully
''HAHAHAHA, I see. Well, it's not a common request, but I might be able to help you. There's an old friend of mine, Captain Elias, who occasionally takes people on special trips to the shoreside. I can introduce you to him, but I must warn you, he's a man of few words and rarely agrees to such journeys''
''Thank you so much! I'm willing to take my chances. Please, if you could introduce me to Captain Elias, I'd be truly grateful''
The man smiled ''You have a brave spirit, young one. Come with me. I'll take you to him, and we'll see if the old sea dog agrees to sail you there''
Violet stood on the weathered deck of Captain Elias' ship, the salty sea breeze brushing against her face as she prepared to discuss the price for her journey to the shore side of Verdantis.
''Captain Elias, I'm grateful for this opportunity to travel with you to the shoreside. I understand it's not a common voyage, and I'm willing to pay whatever price you deem fair.
Captain Elias, a rugged man with deep, knowing eyes, looked at Violet intently before responding.
''It's not just about the coin, lass. The journey to the shore side is treacherous, and not many are willing to make the voyage. I need to know your reasons for seeking this secluded place.
she then answered with sincerity,
''Captain, I seek solace and a chance to find myself. Life's burdens have weighed heavily on me, and I yearn for a fresh start. I've left everything behind to embark on this journey. The shore side is said to hold the key to healing and peace, and I'm willing to face the challenges that come my way''
He then nods, ''Your resolve speaks volumes, lass. But know this, the sea can be unforgiving, and the journey will not be easy. I'll take you to the shore side, but you must be prepared for whatever awaits''
'' I understand, Captain. I'm ready for whatever comes my way''
''Very well. Since you're willing to face the challenges head-on, the price is not just in gold but in your contribution to the crew during our voyage. You'll be expected to work alongside us, learn the ways of the sea, and lend a hand wherever needed''
she then nods,'' I accept your terms, Captain. I promise to be a diligent member of your crew and learn from the experience.
''Welcome aboard, then, lass''
And so, the story of the Green Serenade begins, with Violet venturing into the unknown city of Verdantis, seeking respite from her burdens. Little did she know that her departure would set off a chain of events that would shape the destinies of those she left behind. What secrets lay hidden in Verdantis? What trials and tribulations await both Violet? Only time would tell.
But one thing was certain—the melody of the Green Serenade had just begun, and its notes would resonate through the hearts of those touched by its poignant tune.
