As we approached Crispen, we saw what Logan meant by the severity of the situation. He looked like he was dead or dying. The Stellagazer was kneeling next to him. She was providing short-term solutions to a long-term problem. ‘Stella, how is he?’ Logan asked. I was surprised that he’d thought to get her before anybody else. I knelt down and placed my hand on his chest. Right now, it was clear that just the function of breathing was incredibly difficult for him to accomplish alone. ‘If we don’t get him back to the cave and put him in the lake of Ellias, or he will die.’ Nikolas volunteers to take Crispen back to the cave, Mason volunteers to carry the Stellagazer to make sure they are there in time. Mason looks back at me. I’m worried. I guess it is becoming obvious due to my lack of words
