Alexander POV

“What the f**k do you mean by saying they are not interested again? I yelled over the phone as I was being informed that one of my investors pulled out without giving a valid reason.

Feeling frustrated and angry I flinged my phone across the room to release the built up tension in me, I just finished an early morning meeting not quite long and this fuckers ruins my mood with this news.

My mom has been on my neck about getting married and I now dread going back to my house In fear of meeting her there and work is also tedious with my company's annual fundraiser coming up.

‘’Good morning Mr Stone’’, Rose greeted entering my office, “what the f**k do you want?” I yelled angrily.

‘Th ... .The… there is someone waiting to see you sir ‘she said stuttering, why do I have incompetent fools who can't even speak fluently in my organization.

“Get the f**k out and send her in” ,I said dismissing her.

Turning my chair out to check the view of New York City from my office window I try cooling off before meeting whoever wants to see me.

“Ahem”, the clearing of throat snaps me back to reality, turning around I am faced with the most beautiful woman I have ever seen with her cute brown eye with baby face which is widened in surprise and her long blonde hair which is packed in a ponytail I can't help but admire her, she's got curves also I must say.

Finally done with checking her out I see her checking me out like she knows me from somewhere, her blonde hair makes her look like I have seen her somewhere but there are many blondes in New York so I brushed it off.

“Ahem” I cleared my throat, getting her attention and getting tired of her being mute. I know I am a handsome man but I have better things to do and I need to get done with her to go back to work.

“How may I help you? I asked, getting straight to the point, she introduced herself also stating what she came to my office for.

Who walks into an organization without a business proposal to ask for help, getting tired of her rubbish I decided to ask what I stand to gain if I do help her.

I scoffed internally when she said she was going to pay me back, $10,000 is definitely not what I was expecting her to ask for, the money is definitely small but she doesn't look like she has the money to refund me. Making up my mind that she is just another waste of time I was about to dismiss her.

She looked like she was going to cry, making me angry at myself cause I hate making women cry, looks like she's such an emotional person, looking at her an idea suddenly came into my mind, seems like she's my answer to my mum's nagging.

She was about to leave when I decided to lay my proposition to her, I asked her to marry me and in return she got all the money she needed, no girl was going to reject that all they want is money anyways.

She looked so shocked and confused, she finally asked why I would want to marry a stranger, telling her the truth I gave her an ultimatum of one week to think about it.

Looking at her I know she loves her bakery and wouldn't want to lose it and I also need to please my mum so it is a win win for us both.

I just need her to be my wife on paper and we can both live our lives in peace without interfering in each other's business.

When she walked out of my office I called my Private investigator to look into her for me, I can't risk anything.

With the thought of waiting for her answer in mind I got back to work.

“ALEXANDER STONE !” The thunderous voice of my mother startled me from my chair, glancing at the time on my phone at 9:30, ooh s**t I was in trouble, I was supposed to have dinner with her today but I didn't realize time had gone.

Whenever my mum uses my full name it is never a good thing, “Hi mama” , I tried greeting her in my softest voice , “why the hell are you still working by this time?” she shouted.

“Mum the company won't run itself I have to work overtime to keep it up and running”, “don't give me that bullshit”, she fired back.

“One day off work won't shake your company Alexander, if you had a wife she will be the one looking after you not my old and aging self but you won't even listen to me.”

Getting frustrated I just had to find a way to pacify her, “mum my fiance just left not quite long” I lied smoothly.

“Alexander stone, you engaged a girl without showing her to me”, she shouted, dragging my ear, “Mama please I was planning on introducing you to her”, I lied again.

“I want to meet this Lovely girl of yours by next week. Bring her for dinner”, she said releasing my ear , “no excuses Alex, no excuses”, she finally said.

“Now with that being said, lead the way, baby drive me to my house, but mum your driver is here I have some work to finish”, I said tiredly.

“So you don't want to spend time with me Alex” she said emotionally blackmailing me, “I will drive you home mum”, I agreed getting tired of her nagging.

Shutting off my office lamp I picked my suit and some files making my way out of the office with one thought in mind: what have I gotten myself into, Lily better say yes to my proposition else my mum will have my head.
