Chapter 14: School Changes

1605 Words
Taking the birth certificate, I read my name, underneath there was my parents' names, but before I read their names there was something before that makes me nervous: 'title’s', with Alpha and Luna on each of my parents names; my father and mother both have titles from like ones I have read online. All I couldn’t think was; What the f**k? This can’t be true. I recall the birth certificate in my room before it was stolen, and the one in my mother's room being torn into many pieces before it was set on fire, but none of them had the titles this birth certificate shows; this is not real, and they are trying to get to my nerves just to scare me. Reading this over and over, Sir Ken says calmly. "I do not show this to you to scare you; to be honest, I am astounded at the level of ignorance among my own pack members; this is why your mother was only present during our online chat, just to ensure we were all on the same page, but I wasn’t made aware that you existed till the call your father gave me over your grades at the school." I looked up to see his expression, then quickly returned to the birth certificate. I saw his veins about to burst, and pretending to be shocked was simple; all I couldn’t think was that this was a dream; that I was officially induced in a coma, and I am dreaming; this is all a dream; in my opinion, I should seriously begin reading about these creatures again. Werewolves, of all the freaking creatures, I have to be a harry, four-legged dog, mutt, whatever the hell it is, it could be a wolf the size of a giant or the size of a Chihuahua. Whatever the hell I’m seriously dreaming about, I will find out soon. I hope things improve in this dream; because I need a silver light to over come so much crap. That phrase caused me to put down the certificate, and all three people in the room stopped talking to look at me. I had my furrowed brows and wrinkled forehead on full display; I was thinking really hard about something, and without realizing it, I said out loud what I was thinking: "Silver always bothered me, but it never really hurt me; is that odd?" Something told me to look in Governor Ken's direction, and when I did he appeared perplexed but understood where I was shortly after hearing me, but also seemed taken aback by my words, there was a lot of confusion in this room, but he still spoke to me with a serious tone. "Mishi, werewolves get hurt by Silver, and a large amount can burn us alive; from the way you are reacting, I believe your best bet and our best choice in not getting lost with you is to teach you like you learn at school; does that sound like a good plan?" I began to nod profusely until my head felt dizzy to which is topped and started to massage my head, internally I told myself; That is the greatest f*****g idea in the history of my concussions! Hell, I will go as far as saying it’s better than any medical injuries I have survived to this day! To me, being lost in information is the worst feeling; unlike when I’m being degraded, hit, tackled, and even starved, those are normal things, but not having information in my brain is the worst thing for me. I leaned back with my eyes closed to relax for a while, and I heard Kyle say to his father in my current state. "That is actually the perfect idea, I remember she is the smartest girl at school, maybe we can have the teachers have her in extra time after school to learn about each subject?" Govenor Ken did not have a second to respond, as I said in a huff over him. "That sounds perfect; as long as there is no detention, I have done nothing wrong in class." Zara was about to laugh when I finished, but she stopped before she could, and I heard Kyle growl, so I opened my left eye to see if I was correct to which I saw his stand as that of a man ready to hit someone. Kyle scared the crap out of me when I noticed his eyes were black with a pink iris; I closed my eyes shut after seeing his eyes, and reminded myself that this was just a dream. With that word I started to chant in my mind; It is only a dream. It is only a dream. It is only a dream. It is all a dream. It is just a dream. It is only a dream. No matter how many times I repeat it, the image refuses to leave my mind; and I really want this to be a dream; if this continues, I may become trapped in an endless loop of fear for everything, and that is including to just simply breath. With my eyes closed, I heard Sir Ken ask, "Zara, what is so funny? She is an excellent student; I would have liked to see the same in your reports, but even in hand-to-hand combat, your concentration is lacking, not to mention that you always choose the same person to spar with." In each word Governor Ken spoke, I couldn’t miss the tone of annoyance when he spoke to her. To which I could come to the conclusion that this will be a long ass year. Waiting for them to leave was not working, so I decided to open my eyes, and when I looked to my left, I noticed Sir Ken was waiting for me. Knowing he wanted to tell me something made me nervous, as usual. "Mishi, I know you need to learn this with teachers, but just so you understand something, werewolves have two leaders, the protector known as the Alpha, and a Luna, think of them as the king and queen, the Alpha is the King, and the Luna is the Queen, like in a fairytale." His explanation made sense, but it piqued my curiosity. With that explanation, Governor Ken got up from the edge of my bed, and Zara walked to follow him before turning to say to me. "I will bring you some clothes, Luna Sora should know what to give me, I will be back, you should be discharged soon." I blinked at her brave honesty, but I got goosebumps. I kept repeating what she just said; Luna Sora. As they all left, Kyle opened the door again and said in a curios expression. "I will be back soon, I think I have an idea to start helping you know who all of us really are, okay?" Wanting to be left alone, I nodded at him and then heard two voices that made me smile wide as I saw Samantha and Natally burst in, nearly knocking Kyle down, and their worried expressions made them look really funny. Sam spoke first: "We have been worried sick, Mishi; the entire school knows your mother was arrested, and we know you were adopted by the Knights family; did Kyle hurt you?" She took my hand, while Kyle remained behind them both, glaring intently at Sam’s words. I held back a laugh as I looked at them and said. "You would probably like to talk more after Kyle Knight is out of the room and has closed the door?" They both had their eyes wide open and looked at each other as if they had committed the worst act possible; I held back as much laughter as I could until Kyle closed the door; the moment it was closed, they both let out a sigh, and Sam got up to stretch her back with her hands behind her back; she was wearing a really cute blue shirt, jeans, and boots, and her usual low ponytail. Nat lowered her head, wearing a red and white dress that reaches above her ankle and red flats, her hair in a messy bun, but they were both wearing backpacks. For hours, they told me every gossip; Nat and I were still good, but she was nervous after seeing Mason and Kyle with me in front of her house. Sam did tell my job and her father about what had happened; apparently, Sir. Knight had spoken with them both, which is still strange to me; after a while, they left me to rest. A few minutes later, the door opens to reveal Kyle, who was dressed in the same clothes as before, tight jeans with boots and a gray shirt with three white wolf claw marks on it. He moved forward as if he was afraid of me. Taking the book, he said softly. "That book helped me understand better what my father told you; when you are done, please return it to me; I hope it helps you. I will be off; I have to train with Alpha Ken now; let me know when you are discharged." He left without a word from me to agree, or not. While I waited for a doctor to enter the room, I looked at the book he gave me, which was a children's book called 'My Wolf Pack.' It featured a wolf puppy in the front and two large wolves behind it. And while I kept reading the book, did I firmly concluded that school has now taken a new meaning for me.
