trust issues
Jacinta does most of the talking up front. Then she hands me the phone, and I run through Len’s list. In the early moments of the call, Felix is not interested in meeting any sooner than our prior-agreed time. Though I don’t speak Spanish, I know what el ántrax means when Jacinta says it to her brother. During my turn, I reiterate that it’s very important we make the exchange soon, tonight if possible, to give Felix and his men medicine, in case they were exposed to whatever this is.
He yells into the phone again, and it doesn’t take a polyglot to know he’s not saying words suitable for general audiences.
“Do you have everything I asked for?” he finally barks, voice hoarse from his tantrum.
“Yes. We have Watts’s research—we’re putting it on a hard drive
