We got to his house, his mother demanding he take a shower before anything else. She prepared him something to eat while he cleaned up. I sat in the living room with his dad, watching ESPN. He walked out, with nothing but a pair of basketball shorts on, taking my breath away. “Eat this, then you are to go lay down. Stacey, if you’re hungry there’s more than enough for you as well.” I stood up and joined him at the kitchen island. We sat there, eating, his hand on my knee. I helped clean up his spot. He seemed fine, but he walked slow. “Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked him from behind. “I’m fine, just a little dizzy. But that’s normal.” He replied, reaching back to take hold of my hand. He sat down on the edge of his bed, pushing back to have his back against his pillows. “Sit with me” he turned the TV on. I was holding the book that I needed to read. Nodding, I sat down next to him. He put one arm around me, pulling me closer to him. Turning my head I looked up at him and gave him a small smile. “You promise, if you weren’t feeling ok you’d at least let your mom know?” I asked him. He squeezed me against his chest, “Yes of course.” I settled in next to him, opening up the book. I needed to read three chapters before the night was over. We sat there, me reading and him looking from the TV to me every few minutes. I was surprisingly able to read all three within an hour, as boring as it was. Especially with my body boiling from within. I put my book down on my lap, and turned to him. “Not sure what you watched more, the TV or me.” I said to him before kissing him softly. “I’m going to go get you some more water. Do you want anything else?” “Don’t go.” He tightened his grip around me, refusing to allow me to move. “I’ve been waiting for you to be done. You’re not going to leave my side the instant you are.” I laughed, giving up the fight “It seems that you are just fine.” “I’m more than fine.” He said, moving quickly he pulled me down so we were laying down, he lay on his side looking down at me. “Steven, your mother is constantly checking in on you. I will die if she walks in on us…” “I just want to kiss you.” Without another word, he placed his lips upon mine. One hand above my head, his fingers in my hair; the other laid on my stomach. Softly, he moved his hand back and forth, his fingertips sliding along the inside rim of my pants. I turned my head “Steven” He kissed my cheek, “I love it when you say my name like that.” I turned back to him, taking his lips with mine. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. We quickly parted, his arm sliding behind my back so I was laying on him. His chin laying on my head. Craig stood on the other side of the door. “Don’t act like you weren’t doing anything” he said with a laugh. I look to the clock, ugh it was time I had to go. Sitting up, “Hey, where are you going?!?” Steven asked grabbing for me to fall back down. “I have to go, if I don’t, I’m not sure I’ll be able to go to your next game.” Letting go of my arm, he let out a whimper sound. “I don’t know how I’m going to survive the night without you.” Craig walked in, video games in hand “I got you.” I smiled at him, then turned to Steven “I have a feeling you’ll be just fine. Plus, as long as you’re parents are still okay with it we leave to go camping tomorrow.” I said smiling to him packing my books back into my bag. “Oh yeah! What time should we be over?” Craig asked, Steven staring at me intently. “What time can you? My parents are going to leave to go to the campsite earlier in the day. So I’ll be driving the four of us.” “Let’s go talk to them now, make sure it’s still okay.” Steven said pushing up from the bed.  He moved at his normal pace, without stumbling. Showing signs that he was in the clear and was back to being good as new. He took my hand in his and lead me down the stairs to the living room.  “How are you feeling Steven?” His mother asked as we walked in. “Great, back to normal.” He replied. “We wanted to check with you guys that it’s still okay for Craig and I to go camping with Stacey and her parents this weekend. We’d leave tomorrow after school and be back sometime Sunday.” he said looking back and forth between his mother and father. Craig standing on the other side of me. Both boys smiling, looking at their parents with pleading eyes. “You see what we have to deal with.” Their father chuckled to me. I laughed, squeezing Steven’s hand. I was just as anxious as them. “You feel fine right? You’re not just lying to get to go away with your girlfriend for the weekend right?” His father asked. “Yes dad, I feel completely fine now.” Steven answered. “Sleeping arrangements?” Their mother countered. “Well, not the way we picked…” Craig started. “Rachel and I will be in one tent, while Steven and Craig will be in another. My father would flip if we all slept in the same tent or by couple. And I’m kind of fond of your sons, so I wouldn’t want them to become shark bait.” I chuckled.  Their parents laughed, “Okay, then yes it’s fine.” “Okay great!” I said but saying goodnight to his parents, thanking them for allowing me to stay with him. Steven walked me out to my car, “I can’t wait to have you all to myself for three nights.” he said while sliding his arm around my waist. I smiled up at him, placing my hands on his bare chest before slowly sliding them up to wrap my hands around the back of his head. We stood there for a moment, forehead to forehead. Eyes closed, but enjoying each other’s warmth. “I need to go.” I whispered.  “I know.” He whispered back before kissing me goodnight.
