Sandwich.

1082 Words
With Amira's heart broken and aching unbearably. Amira slowly limped into the street in search of a sandwich and she pause, as she slowly wiped the tears on her cheeks. As her left ear hurt so unbearable. She didn't have the strength to cry anymore, but the tears won't stop rolling down her eyes. She looks like a mess and her stomach aching so bad that she didn't know what to do. Apart from the ache and the beating she'd received, her stomach was grumbling persistently, but she had no intention of paying attention to what her body needed at the moment. There was no luxury to do that. Where would she even get the food to satisfy her hungry stomach? The fact that the man she calls her father had refused to acknowledge her as human, and it makes her feel betrayed by her own father. The words that come from her stepmother and her biological father hurt even more than the physical pains that had afflicted on her. What exactly is the purpose of her life? Because it looks as if she was born for nothing, but to suffer. Because Mr. Ben, Amira's biological father blames her for the death of his wife The night was dark and chilling, the wind was hurling blowing up everything that comes its way. While thunder rumbled, indicating that it could rain at any moment. While everyone was rushing to their different destination. A tiny Amira continues to limp with no destination in search of a Sandwich in her mind. She seemed lost as her mind was in a daze as her stomach ache so painfully. And she was unaware of the fact that she was about to be soaked at the moment. All she could think at the moment was how to get a sandwich to avoid any further beating, not minding her hungry stomach and the wind was blowing heavily. The realization dawned on her when the breeze almost uprooted her hair from her scarp. She slowly pulled the strands off her hair that was covering her face and she sighed rapidly in belief. "Oh yeah" Amira hissed indignantly, as she felt a drop of rain on her body, just a fraction of a second it started to rain on her. The wind reminded her of how light she was, as it almost knocked her down. Well, Amira was as tiny as a broom but as beautiful as Queen Elizabeth. How could Amira that didn't have enough to eat every day have the strength and energy to withstand such a powerful force from the wind? She needed to do something as the breeze was becoming too much for her to handle. And she was putting on a thin fabric which of course, can't protect her from the harsh weather. Freezing on this deserted street in search of a sandwich wasn't an option. But she had always been a survivor and a fighter, and nothing could stop her at the moment. As she believes staying active is the goal. And she couldn't help but chuckle in her thoughts. She was full of positive energy and she wished she could say the same for her pathetic life. She couldn't understand why a hopeless person like her was so keen on staying alive. So optimistic about her future which she knew doesn't exist. Because all she could think is to get Sandwich, just to avoid her stepmother's narcissistic behavior towards her. And her father's brutality, and the hope that she will get food to eat when she gets home. She pause, and looked up at the sky, hissing at the blinking lightning as the thunder rumbled, as it was hurling and blowing. She felt more hurt as the weather seems to be working against her. It look like faith wasn't on her side. Her irritation worsened when she felt herself feeling dizzy as the strong wind persisted, followed by a heavy rain downing on her. She hissed in frustration, as she gritted her teeth and increased her speed still in search of a sandwich without guiding her step as she walk under the rain like a sheep without a shepherd. Within a fraction of a second, reality dawned on Amira when her legs unknowingly dragged her to the shopping mall, after long-distance trekking. She deep her hands into her back pocket, but Amira couldn't find the money given to her for the Sandwich. She felt more hurt as she clutches her stomach in agony as she gritted her teeth quivering in anxiety. For a second she was lost as she stared at the shopping mall in a daze, but Amira couldn't go inside since she had no money on her and her body was wet. "Oh my God. Not again, how do I manage to buy a sandwich for my dad." She battered her foot on the ground in annoyance, as a loud yelp of pain escape from her mouth. Amira silently consoled herself as she slowly raised her leg, and patted it. However, it wasn't the time to wallow in self-pity. She must control herself and look for a way to get the Sandwich. "What should I do now." She sighed helplessly, as she pondered over what to do. She was already soaked and dripping wet from her disheveled hair to toe. There seems to be no helping hand for her to buy the sandwich. Amira shook her head in frustration, as the outcome of her thoughts made her feel Goosebumps all over her body. "How am I gonna solve this problem tonight to avoid any further beating?" She muttered to herself as she turn around to go back home with a heavy smirk on her face. "Where are you heading to with a wet body?" Amira turned and her eyes sparked with excitement quivering in anxiety, the moment she saw Oscar. She stood motionless like she was in a dream looking at him He was handsome from the dept of his eyes to the gentle expression of his voice. They both stood motionless as they say nothing to each other. As series of contemplation ran through her head. And her thoughts were making her feel dizzy. "Emm." She muttered without mumbling a word, trying hard to ignore her embarrassing thoughts. Instead of answering the question. Amira felt Oscar's eyes, wandering all over her body quivering, making her feel self-conscious. It looks as if she were naked before the eyes of the handsome man.
