Gloria and Liza looked up from the lounge chairs that they had been sitting on for the past three hours. Elena’s ICU room was the only ward located on this floor. The family had requested for her to be in a deluxe room to ensure she was given all the comfort that the hospital could present and it was to be done, without any expenses withheld.
“Wh…What’s going on? What happened to my baby?” Gloria cried, puzzled, as she rose from the chair.
The two women exchanged looks, as tears began to stream down Gloria’s face again. Holding each other’s hands, Liza and Gloria scanned the area. During their time in the hospital, Elena’s ward hardly saw any commotion. It was very quiet with only a couple of nurses stationed and occasionally the doctors would visit. But now it was different.
