Abort The Pregnancy

Chapter 3 “Don’t bother about his love, he's always like that.” Elder Mrs Raven consoled, while Maya stared at her, trying hard to find answers to her questions, probably in her eyes. Now she understood that she had not just gotten herself entangled in trouble, but she had also got herself entangled with her twin sister's romantic partner. She knew how furious her family, most especially Shara, would be when they found out of her current state, and she couldn't help but wonder how on earth she had been mistaken for being a w***e by Gerald's bodyguards who stood in front of the door that night. She cursed ever attending that event and wished she had never come to this world. “You are and will always be the daughter-in-law of the Raven. Don't mind Gerald's disgusting arrogance.” The old lady hissed in a playful manner as she stroked Maya passionately, like she was her very own daughter. “I really don't want to force things, I could just abort the baby so he doesn't get mad. Then everyone will go their separate was-” Maya couldn't complete her words due to the sudden soft hit on her head by the old lady. “Keep quite young girl, so you know how bad it is to take the life of an unborn child? It's a typical abomination and no part of the Raven's family will be allowed to commit such an abomination,” the old lady said firmly. Maya sadly sat up and rested her head on her palm that was supported by her elbow, which stood on her left lap. To her, abortion was the only way out, and she was determined to get the whole problem fixed. What other way was there? Would it be better for her to give birth to this child and let it face continued threats from her family like she did? Never.. She would never let that happen. Even if it meant her life. She would kill herself and then the baby would never come into this world. Not through her. Shara would have been a better choice for this havoc, but not her. “You'll stay with me for three days before going back to stay at your apartment so I can look after you better.” Maya forced a smile and sat up on the bed. “Great, I'll call the driver to come pick us up.” Maya nodded slightly, and the old lady moved to a side to call on the driver with her cell phone. After they arrived at the Raven's mansion, the old lady held Maya close and pulled her up the stairs to the bedroom she had arranged for her. “This will be your bedroom. Feel at home, sweetie, and make sure no one gives you any trouble. If anyone dares to, then let me know. I'll deal with him or her personally,” the old lady said and walked to the door. “Oh, your lunch will be brought up to you soon.” She smiled briefly and walked out of the door, shutting it gently behind her. Maya glanced around the room as her anticipation grew. She couldn't wait until three days to finally get out of the mansion and get an abortion before it got too late. Just like the old lady promised, her lunch was brought in by a skinny maid and three more others brought in a whole wardrobe of clothes and other accessories that spoke beauty. Maya was greeted cheerfully by these maids and that warmed her heart, until one of them addressed her as ‘Mrs Raven'. She snapped and corrected. “No, no please. Don't call me that. My name is Maya.” “I'm sorry, Mrs Raven, but we were authorized by elder Mrs Raven to refer to you as Mrs Raven.” One of the maids replied. “So now, Mrs Raven. What would you like to wear for the evening?” Maya sighed, exhausted from the whole trauma and eventually gave it. She would just force a smile each time she was addressed as ‘Mrs Raven'. … A day passed and Maya could not help but count the days remaining. She had started to feel at home with the presence of the old lady, and she kept her company. They became so close, the old lady already saw her as her daughter. Even though she already had two grown women, she didn't think adding one would be bad. But still she wanted her to be Gerald's wife. Even though she looked disgustingly ugly, she knew the girl with her had a beautiful heart and all she needed was some touch and her true beauty would show forth. “Gerald says he'll come today with his ‘bride’ and, apparently, she is already two months pregnant by him.” The old lady paused to study Maya's reaction. “But, don't bother yourself, my dear. I know my son, and he's quite the stubborn one, but eventually he'll mellow down to you.” The old lady continued after finding nothing in Maya's reaction. “Shall we play the ludo?” She said to change the topic. “Yes, please.” Maya replied, glad and happy to change the topic. After two hours of playing, chatting and laughing, the butler arrived in the large sitting room to inform the elder Mrs Raven of the arrival of her son and his apparent bride that no one knew. Not even his friends, she tried to ask. “He's here?” She jumped and used her fingers to straighten Maya's hair, stroke her cheeks and touched her big and obvious scar. Her face was heavy with pimples. While her lips were as pale as paper. Face tanned and sober. Such a pitiful girl she was, the old lady thought. “Tell him to come in, .... and his bride too.” Within two minutes, Gerald was standing ten feet away from his mother with someone Maya could recognize as Shara, standing right beside him as they stood like a newly wedded couple. Even holding hands… Maya felt a sudden ache in her head the minute her eyes fell on Shara with a little bump in her tommy that was an obvious one of a woman two months pregnant. But that couldn't be possible, how could it be? Shara, who had a very flat tummy just two nights ago, all of a sudden she had the bump of a woman who would likely be two months pregnant. “I don't believe this, Gerald, how do you think you can fool me?” The old lady sparked after recognizing the lady beside her soon as the daughter of the Banks family. They had obviously lied about the insanity of their second daughter, who she found out was Maya, and so Gerald must have thought it would change her mind if he brought the sane one to her. “Mother, she is carrying my first child, therefore she is the rightful daughter-in-law of this family.” Gerald replied as he stared at Maya indifferently. Gerald had no idea about the beef between the two sisters, but he didn't seem to care as all he wanted was one that would not be too soft to fall for him, so after he could get her to sign a marriage contract license, that would mean absolutely nothing. He turned to his mother. “The engagement will be held in four days' time, and everyone in this family will be there.” Then back to Maya. “Except strangers, of course.” Shara couldn't stand her joy seeing Gerald's difference towards Maya, but she composed herself, pretending like the sweetest sweetheart ever. But only Maya knew how much of a serpent she was. Not just any serpent but one with a very bad venom. Seeing the current situation, she knew her only choice still remained was to abort the pregnancy.
