The next day Lexie woke up excited. She took a shower and got dressed but she wasn't sure how this was going to go.She had walked by the Baxter building at least a hundred times on the way to work
She also wondered what a company called Singularity did. When she googled Singularity the word itself was a term used for when technology advanced so fast that society couldn't adapt to it
When she tried to Google the company it didn't say much but that they were the leading edge in technological advancements.
It was a bright and sunny day as Lexie made her all to familiar walk through downtown Fort Worth.
The sun gleamed off the buildings almost to bright for Lexie to look at.But when she came up to the Baxter building the sun was much easier to look at gleaming off it's darkly tinted glass.
She walked in through the front door to find a single security guard that appeared to be in his early seventies He wanted her and asked her to put her purse on an x ray machines conveyor belt
After that she had to walk through a metal detector that was pretty common in any of the corporate buildings downtown.
She went into the elevator and made her way to the fifty first floor where her interview was to be held. When she got off she saw a single hall way leading to a single door named Singularity.
That's easy enough she thought to herself. She made her way down the hall and entered the company's waiting area.
Are you here for the interview asked the lady behind the reception desk She was an older lady probably mid sixties and she was plump She wore glasses and had rosy cheeks. She reminded Lexie of an old Christmas ad featuring Mrs.Claus.
Yes ma'am she replied I am interviewing for the CPA position.Well then you must be Lexie my name is Mrs.Hammill but you can call me Margaret.
Okay Margaret, are there many more candidates for the position I'm applying for? No,just you so far. That made Lexie a little nervous and she didn't know why.If you nail this interview said Margaret then you will probably get the job .
Thanks Margaret Lexie said with a warm smile and right then a voice came over the receptionist intercom. Please send in Mrs.Thatcher please.
The boss will see you now. Alright then Margaret wish me luck.
Lexie made her way to the rather large wooden doors guarding the man that may end up being her new boss. Ofcourse this was a giant step for Lexie actually trying to use her degree for something and this all had happened very fast so she told herself if this doesn't work out no big deal.
With that she took a deep breath and opened the doors. As she stepped in she noticed a large very expensive looking glass desk with a man facing out the window in a black swivel chair. The second thing she noticed is that it was dark outside and storming heavily.
That's weird she thought it was completely clear and sunny when she had entered the building.
Mrs.Thatcher? How are you the man asked as he simultaneously swiveled his chair sideways and stood to finish greeting her.
I'm good she replied and after shaking the man's hand and finding out his name was Mr.Kennedy they both sat in their respective places.
