Clara, a human straddling the line between the human realm and the fairy realm, is on the run with her beloved Leon. However, their escape takes a dark turn when thugs capture her. In a desperate bid for freedom, Clara fights back fiercely, leaping from a speeding vehicle. She aims for a nearby bush, unaware that it conceals a portal to an uncharted world awaiting her discovery. As she tumbles through the bush, Clara feels the wind whip around her, and in an instant, she is transported into a vibrant landscape filled with strange flora and shimmering creatures. Panicked yet exhilarated, she glances back to see the thugs halted at the portal's edge, their frustration evident as they search for a way to follow her into the unknown. Just as one bravely prepares to leap through the portal, it suddenly snaps shut. As Clara embarks on her journey through this mysterious new realm, she unexpectedly encounters a band of warriors who capture her. It's alarming that humans can portal hop, a feat deemed impossible, and it’s a matter that demands the immediate attention of the Fairy King.

As Clara enters the castle, she is met by a familiar wooden door that stirs memories from her dreams. Have these visions been steering her destiny all this time? Was she truly destined to arrive here? Could the figure from her dreams actually be the Fairy King? Will he recognize her, or must she convince him that she comes in peace to this mysterious realm? Will his gaze mirror the one from her dreams? Will she feel his warmth as he brushes against her skin, just as she experienced in her visions?

Chapter 1
Life can be pretty unpredictable, right? You just go about your daily routine, getting comfortable with how things are. Then, out of nowhere, something happens that flips everything upside down. It hits you like a surprise jolt, and you realize how quickly things can change. It's in those moments that you learn to adapt and find strength you never knew you had. Should you embrace the chaos? At times, we find ourselves compelled to accept the chaos around us. The environment shifts, and others gaze at you as if you were an outsider. The world feels so unfamiliar that you begin to wonder if perhaps you truly are an alien. Perhaps it's in the chaos that true growth occurs, pushing you out of your comfort zone. Embracing the uncertainty may lead to unexpected opportunities and new paths waiting to be discovered. Each morning, I wake up at the same time, brew a refreshing iced coffee, and scroll through social media. I check the weather and read the latest headlines before stepping into the shower. This daily routine may seem ordinary, but it brings me comfort, especially after losing Bella, my beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Despite the heartache, I find myself endlessly perusing puppy ads, though I’m not quite ready to adopt a new dog just yet. Perhaps by the time summer comes, I will be prepared to welcome a new companion into my life—a mere few months away. In the meantime, I treasure the memories of our long walks and sunny afternoons in the park, reminding me that while Bella is no longer with me, the love we shared will always dwell in my heart. During the last couple of years of her life, Bella was my steadfast shoulder to cry on when Carter left me. He cheated, and when I discovered the truth, I hurled my engagement ring at him. How could someone want to marry me and build a life together, only to betray my trust? He blamed it on nerves and his intoxication, but I wasn't interested in excuses. It was a dark chapter in my life where I almost lost my job at the firm, as I struggled to take on new challenging cases and make my mark in the company. I had to dig deep within myself to pull through the depression. Eventually, I found solace in my work, pouring my energy into each case with a newfound determination. It was time to reclaim my life and focus on the future, leaving behind the pain he caused. My phone dinged, a text from my best friend, Amber, coming through. “Hey, drinks and dinner tonight at our favorite spot? There is supposed to be an awesome band playing.” “Sure, I won’t be off until six. I’ll meet you there after.” I replied. “That’s fine! I’ll meet you there. I heard the lead singer is hot!” She sent back, causing me to roll my eyes. I had sworn off all men after Carter.I aimed to prioritize self-love and rekindle my passion for work, which had been overshadowed after the breakup. I prepared myself for the day ahead, slipping into a chic pinstripe navy and white skirt paired with a crisp white button-up blouse. I accessorized with a delicate white gold cross necklace and elegant white gold hoop earrings. To complete the look, I opted for a natural yet professional makeup style and styled my hair to perfection. As I glanced in the mirror one last time, I felt a surge of confidence, ready to tackle any challenges that awaited me. With my bag slung over my shoulder, I headed out the door, eager to embrace the opportunities of the day. The workday felt never-ending, and when the clock finally struck quitting time, I bolted for the door. I hopped into my Mercedes and sped toward the venue. Once parked, I quickly texted Amber. Her reply came back almost instantly, informing me she was already inside, seated at a table. Amber embodied the quintessential blonde beauty, with her delicate green eyes and sun-kissed skin. She donned an adorable black strapless dress paired with dazzling black stilettos, leaving me feeling rather overdressed in comparison. As the evening went on, her radiant smile lit up the room as she mingled effortlessly among the crowd. I couldn't help but admire the way she commanded attention without even trying. We swayed rhythmically among the crowd, fully immersed in the music played by the band just steps away from the stage. On several occasions, I caught a glimpse of him and observed that as he sang, his gaze seemed to be locked onto us—particularly on Amber, or so I believed. A few hours later, the music faded, and we settled at the bar. I ordered a delightful mixed fruity drink, which served as the perfect refreshment after an exhilarating night of dancing. As I took a sip, the sweet and tangy flavors burst in my mouth, instantly lifting my spirits even higher. I chose a second drink, and just as the bartender passed it to me, a deep voice resonated from behind. "You were incredibly distracting, you know?" As I spun around in my chair, a frown momentarily crossed my face. Was he directing his comments at me? I stole a glance at Amber, who was captivating two men with her flirtatious batting of thick eyelashes. My attention returned to the man before me—it was nothing less than the lead singer of Distance 9. “I know I'm not the best dancer,” I confessed, feeling warmth spread across my cheeks. He laughed softly, sliding his hands into his front pockets. “You dance just fine. It was clear you were enjoying yourself, and your smile lights up this entire venue.” His gaze glanced over me and I took that same moment to study him over once more. He was tall— even from my vantage point on the bar stool, he loomed over me. His dark hair was tousled, giving him a rugged appeal. Clad in a black muscle shirt adorned with a splattered paint design, he exuded an effortless cool. His perfectly sculpted arms revealed that he never missed a gym day, and the sleeve tattoos embossed on his skin added an air of mystery and narrative. Black pants with chains along the sides completed his ensemble, giving him the quintessential bad boy vibe. In that moment, I realized this man was trouble. His intense gaze seemed to conceal a myriad of secrets, each one more perilous than the previous. Despite the cautionary voices in my mind, I found myself irresistibly attracted to the mystery he embodied. As he stepped closer, the air thickened with an unspoken tension, and I could feel my heart pound in response. There was a thrill in the danger that both excited and terrified me, leaving me at a crossroads I never anticipated. As the music started to play, he drew closer, leaning in to whisper. His voice was deep and velvety, "Would it be alright if I shared my number with you? I would love to take you out one night.” “Yeah… that would be fine,” I replied, my words fumbling out. I quickly retrieved my phone, unlocking it and handing it to him. He entered his number, calling his own phone before returning my device. I glanced at the screen, catching sight of the name “Leon.” “Yeah, that's me. And your name is…?” He flashed a warm smile in my direction. “Oh, of course! It’s Clara.” I watched him type my name into his phone. “Well, Clara, it's a pleasure to meet you. I’ll text you soon, alright?” He gently took my hand, lifting it to his lips for a soft kiss. A wave of warmth surged through me as his lips touched my skin. I watched as he vanished into the bustling crowd, lost among the sea of people. Glancing at my friend Amber, I found her sipping on a colorful drink, a radiant smile lighting up her face. “Get it, girl! He’s a total catch!” she giggled. “True, but I can’t shake the feeling he might be trouble,” I replied, turning back to where he had just been.
