The Unexpected Heir

Beta: Sampson pov i looked over the paper work i received from alpha who is in new york handling some business with the company. orders to destroy a far off pack for crimes of rebellion against the council. what those crimes were, were not specified. Poor bastards. complete and total annihilation of the pack. those are the orders. take their alpha and family, and beta family alive if possible to stand trial. any prisoners they had were to be interrogated but kept interred until finding out what they had done to deserve imprisonment. tomorrow thunder mountain pack wipes out the red lightning pack that had taken up residence on the edge of the rain forest in south America. they had been in Italy initially but after committing what ever crimes they packed up and they disappeared without a trace. that was almost 600 years ago. average life span of a shifter is about 200 or so years. lycans live any where from 250 to 500. These guys are shifters, wolf shifters. we have the upper hand as lycans. news of their where abouts finally surfaced about 6 years ago. after some recon we have our orders from the council and the royal family. the council consists of 2 witches one royal lycan family 3 different shifter families, 2 vampiric families and 2 fae and an oracle. Mountain thunder pack was something of the military for the council and royal family. our pack is huge taking up almost the entire lower south west quadrant of the U.S. millions of acres. millions more lives. all answer to one alpha and as such he has many betas and gammas to help control such a vast area. to clean up this mess ill need about 50 warriors. ehhh not so bad they are basically starting their pack from scratch with a little less than 150 members. our warriors train from dusk to dawn hand to hand mixed martial arts and then there's their wolf forms. battle tested, tough, calculating, and loyal. my men will wipe them out. we will air drop in to the north after moving in from the south to cut off retreat. these idiots set up shop in a gorge with no way out. i smirked. this was going to be to easy. "SAMPSON REMERO MONCHES!" i hear the screeching oh no... in barges a little brunet with way too many blonde highlights and brown eyes. she's about 5'5 and a temper too tall for someone so short. "you skipped dinner again! how many times have i told you! you have to take care of yourself." she practically yells in my face. i dead pan, huff, and hang my head. she means well i guess. I'm in charge here. its my responsibility to make sure ur running this pack smooth. and to do that you have to be well rested and fed. not skipping meals and locking urself up in here with paper work for moon goddess knows how many hours only to fall asleep in your chair and complain about your back!" she screams in my face. meet Mary. my baby sister after my mother died unexpectedly and my father followed her, this little......angel with horns has kept me on my toes and some how tricked me into moving on after their deaths and continuing life. she's the bane of my existence and my reason for living right now. she took over moms position in my life and in the pack as fill in until alpha finds his Luna, and made it her personal mission to make sure i took care of myself. she was just as snarky with the alpha. i almost hope my mates just like her, almost. I've been waiting on my mate but i haven't found her yet.
