CH 19 Babies

Aslaug looks up at Leif who is still holding her when she sees him finally realize what she said. He looks down at her, and she stands there waiting for the obvious question.

"Wait you helped give her energy? You have healing powers?"

Aslaug laughs looking at his shocked face and once she calmed her laughter and wiped away the tears she asked, "Took you long enough. How do you think I knew your healing power came directly from the Goddess?"

He smiles at her then laughs along with her, "Yeah I never put too much thought into it honestly. Just figured you were told by the goddess or something. Wait so does that mean you have other powers?"

Aslaug smiles motioning for Leif to let her go. "As much as I love being in your arms I think we shouldn’t have this conversation out in the open like this." Aslaug waves around to signal to him where they are and Leif looks around finally noticing everyone starting to make their way out into the village to begin the day. Leif nods at her and Skuggi mindlinks her, "We will finish this later, little mate." She smiles back nodding then leads him back into her sister's hut.

They walk into the hut hand in hand to the sound of one baby's cry and the sound of another baby eating greedily. Aslaug smiles at Dagny releasing Leif’s hand and walks over to her. Dagny is small at 5'3" with wavy raven colored hair that reaches down to her thighs. She has kind dark blue eyes, a button nose, and bow shaped lips. She reaches down patting the baby's head that's feeding then reaches for the baby on the bed lying next to Dagny.

"Oh, honey what's wrong?" She looks at Dagny asking her which one this one is with her eyes and Dagny laughs responding, "That one is little Leif, named after the man, that saved his life." She looks up at Leif projecting all the gratitude she can muster through to him in her eyes. Leif nods and moves forward to formally meet his namesake topping just behind Aslaug as she presents the pup for him to see. Dagny smiles at them thinking how perfect they look together with a pup in her arms. Dagny looks down realizing her baby girl is done eating she wraps her back in the blanket then switches the babies with Aslaug.

Aslaug looks down at her niece now and asks, "What's this little girl's name?"

Dagny makes sure little Leif is latched on properly to her other breast then she looks at Aslaug, “My beautiful girl is named Selene. After the Goddess who put the best little sister I could have ever asked for into my life and family."

Aslaug's eyes shoot up to look at her sister in surprise. "You knew?"

Dagny chuckles, "Systir, you randomly show up as a small baby even though mom never grew large with child. Of course, I knew you came from someone else. It did take me awhile to get the truth from mom but eventually she told me who you really were. It didn't change anything; you are and forever will be my sister." She reaches over squeezing Aslaug's hand lovingly and gets a squeeze back. They looked at each other for a second until little Leif started to fuss. Dagny looked down laughing, "Sorry my boy" she fixed him back onto her breast and little Leif began eating again.

Leif sat in the background allowing the sister's talk when he looked over at Dagny's mate and noticed him pacing. He watched him for a second before realizing he may need someone to talk to, so he walked over to him.

"Everything alright?" He looks up at Leif completely unaware he was no longer alone then nods but is obviously still very tense. Leif looks at him then cuffs him lightly on his back, "You're pacing so much you're wearing a hole in the floor. Release the burden you're bearing." He looks at Leif one good long while then finally shrugs, he moves to the small stool next to him and sits down. Leif grabs another stool nearby and brings it over sitting beside him. He looks at Leif again and sags from the weight of the world he now suddenly felt, "I was barely ready to be a father of one pup. How the hell am I supposed to deal with two pups at once? Dagny is perfect as always she's doing great, but what the hell am I supposed to do?" He looks at Leif with pure panic on his face and Leif laughs then looks at his new brother, "You be a father and mate. You're overthinking this. You don't have to do anything but be the man your mate and children need." Leif adjusts so he can see his family behind him and Leif points back at them, "Right now all they need is for you to be there for them. Anything beyond that you and your mate take one day at a time." His brother nods at him taking a few calming breaths then gets up and walks over to Dagny and Aslaug. He holds his hands out for his daughter and Aslaug grudgingly hands her over. He smiles at Aslaug then at his daughter, at that moment she looks up at him and immediately starts crying, he looks at Dagny with terror on his face, and she laughs telling him to soothe her, “Gently bounce the pup in your arms.” As soon as he does she smiles at him then her eyes begin to droop until eventually she shuts her eyes and soon everyone can hear her lightly snoring.

Dagny looks at him smiling and pats the mattress next to her for him to sit which he does immediately, "Arne, you will do fine. Just breathe and relax. Until you start to believe in yourself again I will be here to tell you what to do." Arne looks up at her and laughs, "Thank you mate. I only ever heard one heartbeat so two pups being here freaked me out for a bit."

Dagny looks at Arne; she always loved how strong he was. He carries that strength with him always and that was what attracted him to her. He is 6'2" with dark black curly hair with a slender face and thin lips. His brown eyes had a sparkle in it that always reminded her of the lake when the setting sun hit it. His hair was a little disheveled with parts of it sitting straight up into the air while the rest laid normally and he had worry lines on his face but even still she thought he was the most handsome man she ever saw. He was working in the fields when her water broke, and he was still in just his pants and a loose-fitting sleeveless shirt. His lean muscles were out for everyone to see, and she smiled at him affectionately.

He looked at Dagny understanding where her thoughts were heading and he leaned down to whisper to her, "You looking at me like that is exactly why we have two pups right now." He raised an eyebrow at her and she laughed.

Aslaug had just got to Leif when they both smile at the conversation they're hearing. They look at each other then nod understanding it was time to leave them be and quietly move to leave. Just as the get to the door Aslaug quietly announces, "Dagny we’ll leave you be but if you need anything just mindlink me." Aslaug grabs Leif's hand pulling him away as Dagny is smiling at them and waving them off.
