Fake Fiancee?

Drake's eyes glared blue. He felt his ears begin to filter the voices around him and instead a deafening sound rang loudly in his ears. He immediately fell on his knees as blood dripped down his nose and palms. "I want Sian." He heard her last words and immediately he felt a pair of hands touch his head but he was to weak to respond to the unknown person. Emily is now revealed as she massaged his head with an invisible force in her palms and Drake felt his head clear and the force around him became silent. "Take a deep breath, you'll be fine." Hearing her voice, he exhaled deeply. It was then he felt his vision turn blur and he immediately fell unconscious in her arms. The door bell rings. Sian opened the door only to see someone she didn't recognize. "Hello... I'm Vincent." He introduced and her eyebrows furrowed. "Who are you looking for?" She asked suspiciously. "I was sent to look after you while your mom is away." Sian stared at him confused. "What are you talking about?" She asked. "She went on a trip with Kevin Peale, and in exchange I have to watch over you." He said and smiled. He walked in even without her permission and she turned to him. "Hey! I never said you should come in." Sian said and he exhaled deeply bringing out his iPad. He immediately made a video call and the call was soon answered. "She doesn't believe me." Vincent said and Sian walked over to him to see who he was talking to only to see her mother. "Seriously? You actually went on a trip with that jerk Kevin?" She spoke and she immediately heard someone clear his throat in the background. "He is actually right there you know." Vincent said and Sian rolled her eyes. "I will explain everything once I get home Sian. Its a little complicated." Lisa spoke. "Of course it is. You just met this guy and you're already going out with him." Sian spoke. "Sian! Watch your language." Lisa warned. "You said you are going to Darryl tomorrow. He'll help you get there." Lisa added. "I don't need anybody's help! I'm fine on my own." Sian said and walked upstairs angrily. Lisa sighed staring at Vincent. "Take care of her, she can be a little sassy." Lisa said and ended the call. "What a daughter... Now I see the reason why you don't want to get married Kevin." Jenna spoke and Kevin gave her a warning look. "You don't have to worry Lisa. Your daughter is in good hands. Vincent has the eyes of an eagle, he's good at watching. He never let's me off his sight." Jenna said. "So you won't do anything stupid." Kevin added and Jenna rolled her eyes. Kevin immediately drove into a hotel and parked the car. "Is this the place?" Lisa asked as they came down from the car. "Of course not." Jenna replied. "Then why did we come here?" Lisa asked. "We have to make sure you know everything about who you're going to meet there." Kevin answered. "And also we have to make some changes with you." Jenna said and smiled. Lisa sighed heavily and they walked inside to the receptionist. "Good evening sir. Good evening ma'am." The receptionist immediately greeted and without wasting time, she brought out their room card and gave it to him. "C'mon, let's go." Kevin said and Lisa cruised her eyebrows wondering what just happened knowing they didn't sign in into the hotel. She wanted to ask but she kept quiet not wanting to be inquisitive. They got into the elevator and went to the last floor, then they got into their room which happened to be a suite. Lisa looked around the large room which had a big sized bed that was surrounded with curtains that fell down to the floor, and a large television. The room was heavily designed with all sorts of things that she couldn't help but open her mouth in amazement. Jenna walked to the window and she opened the curtain revealing a terrace which had a beautiful view of the hotel. Another curtain was also placed before the rails in the terrace that she wondered what it was for. "This will be your room for tonight." Kevin spoke "What?" Lisa questioned to be sure she heard well. "I said you will be sleeping here tonight. I and Jenna will be coming back later in the night to tell you what is necessary. Take a rest for now." He said and she nodded short of words. "Here is something you can change into tonight. I'll get all you need to wear for tomorrow morning." She said and they both walked out leaving Lisa who fell on the bed. "Oh my God." She said rolling on the bed. "Why is it so soft?" She cried feeling this was the kind of break she deserved. She sat up staring around the room and she slapped her cheek. "Is this real?" She spoke and scoffed falling back on the bed. "I'm never getting up from here." She said and suddenly paused remembering Sian. Once again, she was being a bad mother. She couldn't even understand what she was getting herself into. At that moment, she felt she was never going to get matured enough to make decisions for herself on what and what not to do, how to be a proper mother and what does and doesn't seem right. Matthew somehow influenced her by making all the decisions, right decisions for the family unlike her and that is why Sian grew up to love him better. In the night, Drake walked slowly on the street back to his house thinking of what Emily had said to him when he heard a voice. "Hey...." He turned only to see Casey and she smiled walking to him. They both walked down the street together talking. "Have they found the anonymous writer?" Drake asked and she shook her head. "Still trying to trace it down. There are like a thousand people in the city. It will take some time, plus there are also other things to worry about." She said and he sighed nodding. "You free tomorrow?" She asked as soon as they got in front of his house and he paused turning to her. "Why?" "Just thinking of having a normal life this weekend away from work." She responded. "Go on with Jamie. I can't make it." "Why not?" "Because it feels way easy for you Casey but it isn't for me. I've got a lot of things to do. Good night." He said and walked in to his house immediately while she stared at his disappearing figure exhaling deeply. "You have no idea how I try to make things easier for you Drake. It gets hard for me too." She muttered. Lisa was already changed into her night gown. Walking out to the terrace, she relaxed on the rail feeling the cool breeze sweep her hair backwards. She put on her ear pod listening to the music that just soothed the atmosphere. Just as she turned, she saw something on the floor and she paused seeing a reflection of water below her. She cruised her eyebrows and looked around only to a button by the wall on a socket. She pressed the button and some part of the floor which was glass immediately shapened out and that part lifted up like an elevator just some meters above her head revealing a swimming pool and her mouth fell agape. A swimming pool on the terrace?! Now she understood why there was another curtain before the rail. Just standing before the swimming pool, she suddenly felt the arousal to be inside water. Without wasting time, she closed the both curtains, the one before the rail and the one leading inside the room leaving her trapped inside. She immediately took off her gown, dropping it on the floor just beside her and went into the pool which just stopped by her shoulder. She relaxed by the edge feeling satisfied within herself. Still listening to the music, she stayed in the pool long enough. Just then a knock came on her door but there was no response. The knock came again and when she didn't respond, the door creaked open revealing Kevin who walked in. "Lisa?" He called wondering where she would have gone. "Lisa." He called again knocking on the door of the restroom but there was still no response. He exhaled deeply thinking she had gone out for a walk and just as he was about leaving, he saw some movements in the terrace through the curtains. "Lisa?" He called but there was no response yet he continued seeing movements. He looked around and immediately picked the vase that laid beside the bed and he slowly walked to the terrace. Getting to the curtain, he paused taking a comfortable stance and he opened the curtain with force about to strike only for his eyes to meet Lisa's inside the pool and she immediately screamed. "I'm... I'm sorry." He apologised still shocked on what to do. "Get out." She spoke seeing him still standing there and he hurriedly closed the curtain. He shut his eyes for some seconds feeling irresponsible and without wasting time, he walked out to give her some time to herself. Meanwhile Lisa hurriedly put on her gown on her wet body making it hug her body tightly. Still feeling embarrassed, she regretted going into the pool. She peeped through the curtain only to see he was gone and she hurried out and pressed the button on the wall again and the glass floor went down and closed the swimming pool. She then dried her body with towel as she pictured Kevin opening the curtain over and over again in her head. She knew it was all her fault for listening to loud music while inside the pool, if she wasn't listening to music she would have heard him come in. She sat on the bed helplessly wondering how she would ever look at him again. She covered her face in frustration feeling like going home already. She fell on the bed hitting her legs on it in frustration. Immediately there was another knock on the door and she paused sitting up. She looked around not knowing what to do, if she would hide or just act like nothing happened when she heard Jenna's voice. "Lisa? Its me. Open up." Lisa took a deep breath and hurriedly opened the door. "Kevin seems to be suddenly stressed out so he can't make it. I'll just do everything myself... As always." She muttered the last words to herself falling on the couch opposite the bed. "You ready?" Jenna asked and Lisa nodded slowly. In the morning, Sian walked down the stairs yawning hungrily. She was still in her pyjamas when she smelt something good filtering through her nose and she decided to come check it out wondering if Lisa was back already. She paused seeing Vincent setting breakfast on the table. "Good morning." Vincent greeted and she walked closer to him. "You cooked this? Oh my God...." She spoke already feeling her stomach rumbling. It had been a long time she had such a nice meal. Just as she stretched out her hand to take a bite, he immediately held her hands. "Don't you think you should go shower first?" He questioned and she gave him a pathetic stare. "I just wanna take a bite." Sian spoke and he leaned closer to her as though he wanted to release a secret information. "Well, if you say so... No." He said and she frowned. "Ugh... You're the worst. What kind of a caretaker are you." "Go take your bath." He stated. "Fine...." She said walking back up the stairs and Vincent scoffed. "They are all the same." He muttered. After Sian had her breakfast, she carried her sleepover backpack where she packed all she needed. Coming downstairs, Vincent helped her carry them and put inside the boot. As she got outside, he immediately opened the car back door and she paused for a while noting she hadn't received such special treatment ever since her dad died. "Waiting for a royal invitation?" He asked and she smiled. That is exactly what her dad would say, she thought, getting into the car. He turned around getting into the driver's seat, then he stared back at what she held. "What is that?" He asked. "My laptop. I carry it everywhere I go." Sian replied and he sighed. "Buckle up. Its going to be a long ride." He said and he immediately drove out. Lisa sat before the mirror checking the time. She had already bathed and done everything she could but she had to wear back the clothes she wore yesterday because Jenna wasn't there yet. Immediately the door pushed open and Jenna walked in. "Sorry I'm late." She said giving her the bag she held. "Change into this." Jenna said and Lisa walked into the changing room. She soon walked out struggling with the gown as she tried to drag it down. It was a white tight fitted gown that had no hand. Just as she dragged it down, it fell just right above her knee and it had some stones fixed on the right side of her chest. "Just the perfect look." Jenna spoke. "Just hold on." She added rushing to the door and she opened it leading a young lady inside who held a make up kit. "Make it quick." Jenna said and the lady nodded bringing out her stuffs and immediately started making her up. "Why is this necessary again?" Lisa asked. "So no one has to suspect you're a fake." "You really think doing all this will do the conviction?" Lisa asked and Jenna smiled. "When you get there, you will know." Jenna replied. "I'll be back." She said and walked out only to see Kevin already coming and she walked to him. He was dressed in ash and white striped pants and white tightly fitted shirt that had a vneck right down to his chest and was tucked in neatly into his pants. He held a black leather jacket in his hand and he put on an ash and silver shoe that was glaring in the light. "Where is Eli?" Kevin asked. "He said he won't make it. You know how he hates them so much, he wouldn't want to create a scene there." Jenna said. "Is she ready?" Kevin asked. "Almost." Jenna said and stared at him intently. "Does she know?" She asked and Kevin paused for a while. "No..." He replied dryly and she nodded. "You don't think she will have a lot of questions after this?" She inquired and he shrugged. "She is very specific in respecting privacy. So I doubt she will ask anything even if she wants to." Kevin replied and Jenna nodded. "Why her? I mean she has a daughter." Jenna spoke. "Its not just about that. Her husband died recently and they happened to move into the house." Kevin said and Jenna's mouth fell agape. "Hanson?" Jenna asked and he nodded. "Its outrightly wrong to hold unto that Kevin. If she finds out...." "I know, I'm crossing my boundaries. When I thought I was giving it up, it just starts right from the beginning." Kevin said and Jenna exhaled deeply. Immediately Lisa walked out and they paused. She had put on silver shoes and a necklace that had three steps and the sling fell down her back. Her hair was packed to the back into a bun with some strings falling down her face. Her make up was light, the red lipstick she put on helped to brighten up her face making her look stunning. "Wow... I didn't see that coming. Now I understand why you chose her, she doesn't look like someone who's had a daughter already." Jenna whispered and Lisa walked to them. "You look... Great." Kevin spoke and she smiled slightly. "Thank you." Jenna said to the young lady that made her up and she smiled leaving. "Um... Sorry for... For last night." Kevin said and Jenna cruised her eyebrows staring at the both of them. "I feel so irresponsible... I..." "Its not your fault. Its kinda all me to blame. You were just trying to do what was right. Just forget about it." She said and he nodded. "Um... Quick observation. We're running late, you can do the kisses later." Jenna said and Kevin turned to her giving her a warning look. "What? Isn't this meant to be like a real relationship?" Jenna questioned. "Then you should save the compliments for later. C'mon let's go." He said leading the way and they walked out. Glen parked her bicycle before Henry's house. She looked around as if to check if anyone was watching, then she took the bag she hanged over the bicycle and the door immediately opened revealing Henry who smiled. "Hey, I saw you through the window." He said and she hurriedly walked in and he shut the door. "Is anyone in?" She asked and he shook his head. "No, my mom is on morning shift." He said and she took a deep breath sitting down. "Look, I kinda snuck into the police station and I stole some of the past cases connected to the arrows." She whispered and he gasped. "Are you crazy? What if you got caught?" He questioned. "But I didn't. I had to snap every single one of them and I returned it back." She said and brought out her iPad from her bag and she showed him the pictures. "There were three different persons that reported at three different intervals of this same creature but they weren't believed. So, their cases was closed." Glen said and Henry rose her eyebrows. "Why will they keep ignoring it when they had three different cases." Henry spoke and she shrugged. "They don't just believe anything supernatural exists especially when there is no evidence." She said and he scoffed. "The first case was in 1980." She said and he rose his eyebrows. "That means this creatures were existing for that long?" "Mm-Hmm." She replied. "According to the story, it was a girl named Ivy Jones. She said she had closed her coffee shop late that night and was walking back home alone when she met some drunk guy on the way. She didn't actually know if he was drunk but he was acting so crazy. She was cautious enough to move out of the way but she discovered that as she passed him, he started following her and when she tried running, just like me she found herself in the woods and before he could kill her, a shield appeared and saved her." Glen spoke. "So no one believed her?" "No... She woke up the next morning in her house and she discovered that all the injuries were gone. It felt like a dream but she was sure it happened but there was no evidence to back her up, so no one believed her. She later died fifteen years later in her 40's. She actually lived alone, so I guess she lived in fear of the arrow coming back." She explained. "The second person was also a girl of twenty, Lori Fay in the year 1999. She went out clubbing with her friends that night and while coming back home, they met a strange girl, it seemed she wanted to steal from them and they caught her. They taunted her, calling her all sort of names and they noticed she became angry and turned very scary. They let her go and left for home but the arrow followed Lori only because she was the one she wanted to steal from. When Lori noticed this, she tried confronting her only to discover the arrow was actually after her life. The arrow got her severely injured and it was just then the shields rescued her. She found herself in the hospital the next morning and the nurses told her, she was found just outside the hospital. When the police interviewed her, she told them everything but they didn't believe her not even her parents did. After some months, her parents reported that she had started acting weirdly. She became tormented so much by the incident and with the fact that no one believed her that she went crazy. She was admitted to an asylum and two years later, she was reported to have committed suicide in the asylum." Glen said and Henry took a deep breath. "Wow... What happened then?" He asked and she shrugged. "She just died. The two ladies both died of the same thing but it seems the third person is still alive and we could start from there." Glen stated. "The third case was slightly different because it was a witness reporting the whole story. It was in the year 2015. It was about a young man of nineteen, named Hanson. It seemed he was an arrow, unknowingly to his best friend. It was an evening and this best friend of his went out with him along with his little sister. According to his best friend, Hanson was his childhood friend who suddenly disappeared without a trace but surprisingly, he came back years later and they reconnected. When they went out that evening, he said Hanson seemed to be very cautious. It was in the night when they started returning home and he said, his little sister wanted some candies. He left Hanson standing by their lonely pathway and he went into the store with his little sister. When they returned, they didn't find Hanson there and they looked around for him only to see him in a dark corner fighting with a man who was obviously a shield. He hid out of fear watching from a corner trying to see if he could call anybody for help but before he could do anything, the shield killed Hanson and lighted him up in fire." Glen spoke. "The Shield didn't see the witnesses?" Henry asked. "It appears so because they were rescued safely and could still remember all that happened but, their story wasn't believed all because the police didn't find anything of such in the CCTV cameras. The identities of these witnesses weren't revealed and nothing was reported about them after that. So, I strongly believe these witnesses might be alive somewhere. We just need to find them." Glen said and Henry sighed relaxing on the sofa. "And what if they are not?" He asked. "There's seventy percent chance that they are, and that's worth holding on to." She replied and he stared at her. "Even if they are still alive and we actually find them, what makes you think they will want to corporate with us. After all, they have remained silent about it, all these years." Henry spoke. "They remained quiet because no one believed them. We can work together and reveal the whole truth." "Seriously Glen, this is going down very risky." "I know, but we have to do this." She responded and he went quiet for a while. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Huh?" "After hearing all this, I'm more scared about you. Are you somehow scared like those ladies? Like the arrow is going to come back?" He questioned and she bit her lip. "Sometimes... I get scared but I'm fine." She assured and he moved, sitting closely beside her, then he held her hand. "Don't ever think you're alone Glen, we're all here for you. I don't know what I'd do if you end up like any of them." He said and she smiled. "I'm fine. Do you know why those ladies ended up that way? Its because they didn't have somebody like you by their side. Someone that will make them feel supported, that cares and is ready to help at any given time." She answered. "Thank you Henry." She said and he dragged her into his embrace, pecking her softly on her hair. "From all the experiences it seems the arrows like attacking in the night to avoid being seen. So, for now avoid walking so late at night." He said and she nodded mutely. The car rode into a compound before a building. Still seated in the car, Kevin brought out the ring box. "I guess this is when you put this on." He said bringing out the ring and Lisa paused staring at her wedding ring. Ever since Matthew died she hadn't come to the position to remove it because she felt this was the only way to show how much she cherished his memories especially since she wasn't a better partner than he was. "You've never taken that off, have you?" He questioned and she shook her head. "Its what makes people think I'm still married especially in the company. They think I'll be bringing my husband for the party." She said. "And if by chance in the future you decide to move on. Would you still put that on?" He asked and she shrugged. "I'm just not ready for now. I don't know about the future." She said and he nodded. She moved her hand slowly to take off the ring when he held her hand. "Its fine. You can let it be." He said and she stared at him. "But...." "I respect your decision Lisa. Besides, you're the one who decided to help me so I can at least respect this one thing." He said and she went quiet. Immediately the securities opened the car door for them and he hurriedly put the ring back in his jacket. "Let's go." They both came down to meet Jenna already out from her car. "They just got here." Jenna said and they turned to stare at the car that just drove in through the opposite lane in the compound. "That's Melvyn. The one I was telling you about. He can act so smart at times, be careful with him." Jenna spoke. "This is the part where you probably play real." She added walking in and Kevin held out his arm which she stared at. "You should take a deep breath and hope no scene unfolds in there but even if it does, just remain silent." He said and she wrapped her hand around his arm and took a deep breath as they walked in. ***
