Lisa is seen walking downstairs in the company, holding her bag when she heard a call.
"Lisa..." She turned and sighed heavily seeing who it was.
"My time is over Michael." Lisa spoke.
"That's not my concern. This has to be done before tomorrow, or else you want to get replaced. The boss is coming over and there's no room for lapses." He said giving her the document.
"You can decide to do it over at home." He added
"I thought tomorrow is supposed to be my day off." She spoke and he shrugged.
"You can choose to also have a year or two out of the company finding another job. You know what I mean Lisa." He said and walked out. Lisa took a deep breath. Ever since there was a problem between the Taverns company and their company, the KEJ, they had to top up in so many things in order to keep their clients and business associates. Just as she turned to walk out, she saw Kevin and her eyes shone wondering what he was doing inside the company. Seeing that the security was about to walk to him, she hurried to him stopping the security.
"Hold on... Its fine, I'm with him." Lisa spoke and they just stood not understanding what she meant.
"What are you doing here Kevin?" She whispered to him, gritting her teeth as she asked. Turning around, he smiled.
"Just thought of picking you up." He answered and she took a deep breath dragging him out, just as the security men were about to follow them, they immediately stopped as soon as they saw the signal.
Lisa dragged him outside.
"What the heck is wrong with you? You don't just walk into this place. Do you want me to lose my job?" She asked.
"Sorry..." He apologised and she rolled her eyes.
"You don't have to do all this Kevin. I don't remember telling you to pick me up, I can find my way home." She said.
"Right. I forgot limits." He muttered and walked out while she sighed heavily wondering why she felt guilty for saying that to him. She walked into a car, not wanting to look desperate and she drove out. Suddenly, a car rode before Kevin just as he was about to get into the restaurant.
"What is it this time huh?" Kevin asked seeing who it was and the lady revealed herself to be Jenna but she still remained in the car.
"Maybe you should try checking your watch always." She said and he checked his time as though he had forgotten something.
"Shit...." He muttered rushing into the restaurant. He soon came out hurriedly with his jacket and bag, then he got into her car.
"Where is she?" Jenna asked and Kevin stared at her.
"Who?" Kevin inquired.
"Are you kidding me?!" She exclaimed and that was when he came back to his senses.
"Oh no..."
"Don't tell me all this while, you're still a helpless bachelor." She stated and he rolled his eyes.
"Well, aren't you supposed to know that?" He questioned.
"That is not the problem right now Kevin, its the fact that you had all the time to arrange things properly." She said and he exhaled deeply perplexed.
"We have no choice now, we just have to call Stacey."
"Are you crazy? That's not an option."
" Well, do you have another option?" She asked and he went silent as though something just popped up in his mind.
"I do have an option." He said and smiled while she stared at him confused.
"Quick, drive! She shouldn't be that far."
"What?" She spoke still confused.
"Drive!" He exclaimed and she immediately drove out.
"Who the heck are you talking about?" Jenna asked.
"Step on it Jenna. We have to catch up with her." He said and Jenna increased the gear following his directions on where to turn. He soon sighted Lisa's car and he pointed to it.
"That car... Hurry and cut on its lane." He said and she increased the gear again. Just as she passed the car a little, she turned and stopped the car right before Lisa's car. Lisa Immediately came screeching to a stop.
Coming to a stop, Lisa opened her eyes in fear breathing fast. She became so angry at who will be driving so recklessly and she came down from her car.
"Kevin?!" She called as soon as she saw him come down with Jenna.
"Are you stalking me? What is your problem! I'm gonna call the cops if you don't stay away." She said and they both walked closer to her.
"I'm so sorry I had to do this Lisa but this is very important. Please just listen." He said and she scoffed.
"I don't care about what you have to say. Just get lost!" She said walking back to her car but he walked after her.
"Please just listen...." He said closing her car door as soon as she opened it to get in.
"What part of get lost, do you not understand?" Lisa asked.
"Please Lisa. Just hear me out." He said and she paused staring at Jenna and back to him remaining quiet. Seeing she was quiet, he immediately spoke.
"I need you to act as my fiancee." He spoke and she stared at him ridiculously.
"Now I understand, you're a psycho." She spoke almost angrily.
"Lisa...."
"What do you take me for huh?! We just met Kevin and just because I felt comfortable with you and invited you over to dinner, doesn't give you the right to cross your limits."
"We'll pay you as much money you want." Jenna interrupted and Lisa turned to Jenna, this time angry but just as she was about to speak, he spoke first.
"You're not helping Jenna. Go wait in the car." Kevin said and Jenna sighed walking back to the car.
"I'm sorry for all this Lisa but I have no choice. I know I don't have the right over you but this is one big favour I have to ask from you. You're the only one who can help me at this point." He emphasised and she took a deep breath.
"What's all this about?" She finally asked.
"My parents died some years ago and we haven't been able to get their will since then." He spoke.
"The thing is, I was still a little younger and their will stated that I had to be married or at the least engaged before I can receive the will. For years now, they have been postponing the date to share the will. This is like the last chance I've got, or else it will have to be transferred to their relatives and we don't want that to happen." He explained.
"Then why didn't you just get engaged as instructed or find some other girl to act." Lisa asked.
"That's because no other girl will be able to give it up even if its just a fake relationship. For some reason I just feel I can trust you."
"Is this a joke Kevin? That's what your parents wanted, maybe you should respect that." She said and he paused taking a deep breath. He took some few steps backwards swallowing hard.
"Fine then, I will respect it." He said and immediately knelt down bringing out a box. He opened it and it revealed a Ruby stoned ring. It was so enchanting and it glared as the rays of the sun touched it.
"Will you be my fiancee Lisa?" He asked and Jenna's mouth fell agape as she watched from where she stood.
"Oh my God he's going crazy. He really doesn't know anything about ladies." She muttered.
"Really, I can't say this to another person but I wouldn't mind saying it to you." He said while she just stood without a word.
"After everything, you can call it off yourself. Its just for a day." He persisted.
"You think its just all about you isn't it? That's so selfish of you." Lisa said and immediately entered her car, driving out. Kevin exhaled deeply while Jenna walked to him.
"You should start getting use to rejection by now." Jenna said and he stood up.
"She's right though. Its so selfish of me." He said getting into the car while Jenna followed.
"So what's gonna happen?" Jenna asked.
"Just do whatever you want." He said relaxing on the seat and just as she was about to drive out, Lisa's car drove back towards them and she stood by the door of her car.
"She came back." Jenna spoke and Kevin hurriedly came down.
"I have a condition." She said and he shrugged.
"Anything." He replied.
"The company is throwing a party by the end of the month and its strictly been put to come with a date."
She said and Kevin stared at Jenna and back to her.
"Its a deal." He said knowing where she was going to.
"Right, I also have documents to complete and submit tomorrow in the company. So I can only go with you after all that is done." She said and he walked closer to her stretching his hand. She stared at his hand for some seconds, then she took the documents inside her bag and gave it to him. He smiled and immediately handed it down to Jenna.
"You don't have to worry about that. It will be taken care of." He assured and she rose her eyebrows in question.
"What do you know about the information's needed to fill." She asked.
"Forget about that. We need to leave immediately." Jenna. said.
"What do you mean? I have to get home first and prepare. I have to inform my daughter first." Lisa said and Jenna cruised her eyebrows.
"She has a daughter.... She's married. Are you kidding me Kevin?" She spoke seeing the ring in her hand.
"Jenna...." He called to keep her shut.
"Fine, you don't have to worry about your daughter. Someone will watch over her throughout the weekend till you get back."
"And you don't think I should know this person?" Lisa asked and Jenna smiled casually.
"He's trustworthy, you don't have to worry."
"And its a he." Lisa said and they sighed heavily.
"Okay, how about this. He will video call you every hour, to convince you she's safe." Kevin stated.
"That isn't enough conviction." Lisa said.
"Lisa, Please.... Trust me if I had any other way out I wouldn't have to resolve to this." He said and she stared at the both of them.
"She's travelling out of town this weekend. He has to drive her there and back." Lisa said and Kevin nodded.
"Done." He answered and she rolled her eyes.
"Lead the way, I'll drive in my car." She said and they rushed back into their car driving out while Lisa followed.
Emily walked into the secret science room hurriedly. That room was one of the rooms no ordinary person could be allowed into except by permission. Seeing a lady standing and looking into one of the rooms through the glass wall, she walked to her.
"What is this?" Emily asked seeing the creature she was looking at in the room which was being consulted by Burke by conducting so many tests in the room. The creature was locked in another glass container in the room trying to get out but couldn't. Its face was that of a beast with hair all over its back and it walked on its furs like an animal.
"An arrow." The lady replied and Emily stared at her shocked.
"It can't possibly be what they turn into when they become very petrified, is it?" Emily asked.
"I don't think so either. This creature was brought in secretly yesterday night after being caught in the woods." She replied.
"So what can this be Liera?" Emily asked and Liera turned to her.
"I think the arrows are creating creatures like this but for what reason, I don't know." Liera replied.
"So, this is a human?"
"Definitely. We only fear that the arrows might be alternating people's DNA again as their experiment. I just hope that's really not what it is." Liera said and Emily swallowed hard.
"Keep on monitoring what is going on in the city. We can't have beasts like this lurking on the streets." Liera said and Emily nodded. She hurriedly walked out of the science room.
Drake stood before a mirror. He had just come out of the bathroom and his towel was tied to his waist as he stared at himself. Some marks were still visible on his chest and his arm because of the struggle he had with himself when he tried resisting the force. His eyes then went down to the uranium which clipped around his arm.
Immediately the door opened revealing Erin who walked in. Seeing this, Drake wore his shirt.
"Why are you here?" Drake asked and Erin stared at him.
"Emily wanted to speak to you. I wonder why though." Erin said and Drake paused wondering why Emily would want to see him and why she had to pass the information through Erin. Erin immediately threw the card on his bed.
"She said I should give you this, its a reservation for the both of you to meet in a restaurant." Erin said about to walk out but paused turning back to him.
"I wouldn't take that uranium off if I were you. You don't want to create more problems than we already have. Plus, any mistake of yours, you might end up in the Shield cell as a dangerous specie." He said and smirked walking out and Drake folded his hands angrily. He felt worthless, maybe it would have been better if he wasn't born a shield to begin with.
He stared at the uranium around his arm again. At that moment, he knew his life depended on it and that was what angered him the most, that feeling of being helpless. He wrapped his hand around it in anger and before he knew it, his palms started forming heat and turning red with fire. Immediately the uranium broke into tiny little pieces without any trace of it. He took a deep breath feeling a sense of freedom inside of himself. He immediately wore his pants and without wasting time, he walked out.
Drake walked by the street with his hands in his jacket pocket. He brought out the reservation card just as he was some distance away from the restaurant, when he suddenly came to a halt. He moved closer to the wall to hold his grip on the ground as he felt his head start to ache badly. The force started pushing him strongly and he folded his hands tightly breathing fast. At that moment, he could hear loudly what every single person that passed said. His eyes started roaming desperately in the street. It felt like his life depended on it. His eyes then met a girl. The same girl that had met Sian on her way back from school and who is still looking for where she is. She revealed a sly smile as though she already knew who he was.
"Where is she?" Her voice immediately rang in his ears and he looked away. He felt his heart palpitate in fear. He still held unto the ground tightly so he wouldn't have to reveal himself in front of everybody.
"I said where is she?!" She exclaimed and he groaned.
"Are you okay?" Some people asked seeing his condition and he faced the wall so they wouldn't have to see him.
"Shut up..." He muttered gritting his teeth."
"I'm running out of time. Where is she?!"
"I said shut up!" He exclaimed as his eyes immediately changed to blue. He shut his eyes digging his fingers into his palms irritated by the crowd who had now gathered around him. He knew he wouldn't be able to hold himself anymore, he had to get out of there....
