Chapter Twenty-One
Mrs. Morton walked along the aisles, laying out our exams face-down on the desktops.
“Do not turn your exams over until I give the word. Do not cheat. If I catch anyone cheating, I will take your exam and mark it with an ‘F.’ Do not talk, do not whisper.” She walked back to the front of the class. Beside her desk, she turned and looked around at each student. “All right, begin.”
There was a sudden shuffle of papers as everyone turned over their tests.
