Sapphire's POV
"Who are you? Don't you see I have important business with Alpha?"
The blonde woman said flattery as she grabbed his face and roughly kissed him.
The worst part was that Blade didn't even attempt to stop her. He kissed her back. Knowing full well that I was right there.
My wolf got mad and my heart was already shattered.
I was fighting my wolf for control. She wanted nothing more than to get over there and rip her diseased little hands off of our mate. How could he let her even touch him after he finally found me?
"Are you deaf? I'm talking to you b***h!"
Her words stung and now my anger flared.
"Who do you think you are? You want to know who I am, alright, let me tell you, the man you hold now is my mate, and I, Sapphire Black, is your future Luna. Am I clear?" I acted with a courage and retorted.
I saw panic cross her face but it faded when she glanced at Blade who was silent always. "Huh, bullshit, I'm Blade's girlfriend-"
Girlfriend? He had already broken our promise!
"Enough! Well, Sapphire, it's not wrong that Grace is my girlfriend and you are my mate. And what I have to say now needs to sink in deeply Sapphire." he stopped for a moment "Being my mate comes with some rules and should you abide by it, we won't have issues."
Rules? Rules in mates? Since when did that become a thing in werewolf? I thought but I can't get myself to question him now.
"Three rules. Don't talk to me, don't touch me and stay out of my business."
Grace's sneer reached my ears as my eyes widened in shock. What was the difference between that and rejecting me? Why didn't he reject me directly! Why did he drag me from an endless hole into another? I heard my wolf sobbing. My feet stumbled back, tears fell from my eyes.
I felt my insides breaking, falling into irreparable pieces.
A sob threatened to escape my lips but I slapped a hand over my mouth and ran away.
How could he do this to me? How?
Blade's POV
I watched my mate running with tears, a sharp pain hit me. I had no way but this cruel and hurtful one made her be with my side and make sure she won't get hurt. I knew I was selfish. I didn't deserve her, she was always as pure as a diamond. But how could I let my horrible dark past tarnish her pure light?
"Honey, we can continue our undone business…" Grace put her hands around my neck again, trying to press her lips on mine. I felt gross. Her task was already finished and she had no need to stay here.
"You've gotta go Grace." I replied, my voice void of emotion.
"Wh-what? Why? What are you talking about? Babe, you told me here to give you some release. You can't do this!" She screeched.
"I said leave, NOW!" I growled with my alpha tone, making her tremble, and fear jumped in her eyes. She cried, her tears streaming angry, red trails down her face as she left my office.
She left and I was still seated on my seat in deep thought.
Grace was my girlfriend, yes was, I had broken up with her when I found her secrets and got tired with her, the one who had always coveted my power and thought how to become Luna one day. No way, a b***h like her could never be my Luna. After the breaking up, she started to try any means to close to me but I refused her every time. She would be kicked out of the pack if it weren't for her father Daniel Turner, my Beta, also my father's best friend.
Actually, Sapphire's amazing smell reached my nose as soon as she left her room. When her smell got stronger I knew she was coming to me. I mind linked Grace to come to my office at once and she was very happy and arrived with her shifter speed. She thought I'll make up with her but she was wrong. I just wanted Sap to disappoint me and get away from me, a dark monster who probably made her get hurt one day.
Opening my eyes I snapped back to the present just as a hand gripped my right shoulder to see my brother Noah looking at me with a worried face.
"Hey man, what're you so tensed about?"
"Nothing Noah, I'm just a little tired." For now I hadn't opened my heart to anyone, including Noah and Aria.
"You're always so. Keep everything inside. It has been 6 years. Look, I know you find your mate. Maybe she can help you Blade."
"I don't need help! Why everyone thinks I need help?! I'm not sick, I'm not crazy, I don't need anyone!" Noah's words infuriated me.
Noah paused for my temper and sighed in a low voice.
"Blade, it's the last time I tell you as your brother instead of your Gamma. In recent years, you've pushed away all who cared about you every time, including my parents. They even moved out of the pack to our Uncle's pack. Now you want to force Aria and me out either? Look I'm not very clear about your past, but you should know bro, it's always darkest before the dawn. You should try to look for your light to illuminate the darkness. Or else, at last you'll have nothing left." He left without turning around, leaving me alone.
Go, just go. I would only hurt you all. Just let me be a ruthless alpha that it's the best way.
I walked to the mirror and flipped my shirts, revealing a half body full of scars.
Bad memories swept over me.
"Father, alpha James, please let me go. I can't live in this cage! Silver hurts me!" I cried loudly.
"Sorry my son, this is the only way to control your wolf." My father left cruelly, and I saw the door was closing until the darkness was swallowing my last light.
The only voice I could hear was my claws was scratching the wall. The only thing I could feel was just the sticky liquid streaming from my hand. That was also when my heart was dead. Totally.
