A Little Bit Different

I woke up screaming because someone threw a whole bucket of ice-cold water over my head. my eyes fly open but it is hard to see who woke me. it's always dark in here and my eyes need time to adjust to the dark. after a while I can see a man standing in the opening of my..., yeah how would you call it...I guess this is what you call a cell. so I see a man standing in the opening of my cell. He has big shoulders and muscular arms. I can see his grey eyes watching me, a smirk is playing on his lips. I can't suppress a shiver. His eyes are filled with hate and so cold you can see them clearly in the dark. I know who it is. It's the same man who put me in here, Drake. I feel helpless and fear just thinking about him. There was a time I could call him my uncle. Now I just hate and fear him with whole my heart. 'Get up. His words are threatening, but I need some time to do what he says. You don't want to anger him so the minute the message reaches my brain I get up. The movements cause my chains to rattle and that's the only sound you can hear besides my hurried breathing. My muscles feel stiff because I had to sleep on the floor. I should be used to it by now, but I'm not. I live in this cell for 5 years now, but I still hope this is all just a bad dream and that I will wake up soon. I'm almost sure it isn't a nightmare due to the pain I already suffered in here. I want to cry, but showing my weakness will please Drake and I won't give him that pleasure. I need to remind myself to breathe. Slow breaths. In...and out... I close my eyes to concentrate on my breathing. I can hear Drake taking a few steps closer to me. Where only a foot apart now. I can't help but hold my breath with him so close to me. 'His majesty, Lord Milroy, wants to talk to you, princess Robin." I try to suppress my shivering, but my body starts to tremble the moment Drake spoke the words. And the only thing Drake can do is laughing with me. He hits me hard in my stomach Which made me fold in pain. "You should behave better, otherwise I will personally teach you some manners." With that, he unchains me and takes me hard by my arm. Half dragged, half walking I am taken to the king. ---------- Note from the writer This is just the first chapter, of my first book.
