Forgotten Revenge

A great sense of weariness sweeps over me sucking my energy with it. I can't believe that it's my final day at home. After the battle between Xarvians and our kingdom, been thinking of how will spend the rest of my life with someone I don't love. It has always been my wish to get married to a prince that I love. But since we lost the battle and the king of Xarvia announced that he wanted me to marry his son. I don't have any choice other than to marry his son. "You should try to be happy it's your wedding day today", my mum mentions. Even though it's my wedding day, I mean wedding night since the wedding will be held at night. I am not happy since am marrying a total stranger. "But mom I don't love him", I mention as the words are tangled in my throat. Cold sweat drips on my back as I watch my mom who has just come to check up on me. "I know you don't love him. You don't have to love him since his family are our enemies. You should not even think of loving him in the first place. Your dad sent me to tell you this. He wants you to keep an eye on them and know what makes them strong and why are they so powerful", my mom mentions with a forced smile on her face. She sighs heavily as her eyes are locked with mine. I do know that they ain't just normal human beings. They are vampires who are so powerful than us humans. How do I start to investigate them without them noticing it...? "You have to do this baby. And know their weaknesses so that we can use it against them", She informs me as she places her hand on my shoulder. I do know she is also concerned about me and my welfare. But right now all I have to do is put up that fake smile on my face as I go to my wedding. "Ofcourse I will do that mum but it's a hard thing to do since they are vampires and their senses are higher than ours. How will I be able to do that without being caught...?" I raise the obvious question as I raise one of my brows. She definitely doesn't understand what vampires are. They have been more powerful than humans for the longest time ever. Even though we are more than them they are still more powerful than us. After we lost the battle with them, we knew that they would take some of our land and claim it as their own. But that didn't happen, their king only wants me to be his daughter in law so that can give birth to his grandkids who will be half blooded vampires. "Just be smart my child. Do all you can to know about their strengths and don't trust them at all they are still our enemies", she reminds me. I nod hastily as I assure her that will do everything that she expects me to do. I will try my best to investigate them and be the door to their downfall. "I will do that mum don't worry about that", I assure her with a forced smile on my face. Behind the smile, it's a girl who wishes that she would disappear and run away from my responsibilities. I do know that since am the first born of my father and the first daughter. I have to do what the king of Xarvia wants since we lost the battle. "All will be well my child. You have to start preparing yourself since it's almost dusk", my mum mentions as she taps my shoulder. She smiles at me before she leaves my room. I gasp immediately as I try to release the tension within me. I am trying my best to calm my pounding heart. Am convinced that everything will be alright and that I will accomplish my mission of conquering the Xarvians. I convince myself as I lay on the bed. "My princess it's about time we start dressing you up", one of my maids informs me as she enters my room. They are now three maidens standing infront of me awaiting to dress me up. This is among the main reason why I enjoy being a princess. Am treated well and given special attention. "It's fine Dina I have already bathed. So let's do it", i mention as I stand up and head towards them. They hastily start helping me wear the wedding dress. After they are done helping me dress up and brush my face. I stare at myself at the mirror not believing that was getting married to someone I don't love. I did know that this was bound to happen since am a princess and can't choose whom to marry. I have no idea of how the prince is and what he is like. That is my main concern now. Instead of being excited and delighted, my heart was filled with dread and unease. I can't stop to think of how my life will be like after am married to the vampire prince. "You look so beautiful my princess", Dina mentions as her eyes are glued on me. The other maidens are staring at me with awe as their eyes are also glued on me. "Thank you", Since am that type of princess who is not proud. I thank her for her comment. "It's now the time my princess", Dina mentions as she points at the door. It was finally the time for me to get married to the vampire prince. I let out a deep sigh as I stare at my reflection. The maidens stare at me while my mind jumbles with so many thoughts inside. "You will be alright my princess", Dina notices that am anxious. She is not only my personal maiden but also one of my best friends. "Promise me that you will come with me there...", I need to be sorrounded by a maiden of my own kind. I hope the king of Xarvia will allow this. "We have to ask first my princess", she mentions with a wide grin on her face. I gasp out for the last time as I prepare to head to the wedding.
