Call me my husband

"Am not biting you", he mentions as she lifts up her head immediately hastily after placing her head on his shoulder. He never thought that she would behave that way especially after being gentle to her. She suddenly remembered that he was a vampire and he could bite her at that moment when she was crying on his shoulder. She didn't want him to be feeding from her since she was now his wife. She knew that she was overthinking about everything but couldn't stop herself from thinking of the possibility of him biting her. "Really...?" she raised a brow at him wanting confirmation that he wouldn't bite her. She wanted to feel safe around him but couldn't help but to worry since he was a vampire. She had read stories of how vampires loved to feed on human blood all the time they were hungry. She didn't want to be his prey especially when she would be the only human living in his kingdom. "Yes no one will be feeding on you. You are now my wife and a princess. No one will dare to bite you since you are now part of us even though you are a human", he assured her as his eyes were glued on her. He couldn't stop to admire her beauty as his eyes were glued on her. "Really...", she wanted assurance from him even though she could see that he was serious. She couldn't trust him since he was just another stranger to her. She hoped that he was telling the truth and that he would keep his promise of protecting her. "Yes my wife no one would dare do that I will forbid everyone from doing that. And if anyone dares to bite you, will give them severe punishment", he mentioned as he was still staring at her face. The carriage moved faster than before as they were heading to Xarvia. They were the only one's in that carriage as his other family members were in their respective carriages. "Thank you prince Blake", she mentioned as she stopped glancing at him. She couldn't stare at him for long since she was shy and didn't have the courage to stare at him. He noticed her behaviour and a wide grin appreared on his face. He could see that she was shy and innocent at the same time. It was her first time to be in alone with a man for that long. She never had any male friends that she could interact with. "You should call me my husband don't call me prince Blake again", he didn't like the way she was too formal around him. He wanted her to be comfortable around him and address him like her husband. That was the only thing that he wished at that particular time. Even though it was hard for him to accept her as his wife. He had no other option than to do that since he was obliged to do that and he couldn't disobey his father. "Alright will do that ", she mentioned as she stared at her fingers as she was blinking numerously. She couldn't hide that she was too shy to face him. Her innocence mesmerized him as he was glad that she was a pure virgin since she didn't even have the confidence to look at him for more than a few seconds. "Call me my husband then", he raised a brow at her as he awaited for her response. He wanted her to be comfortable around him and to not fear him at all. All he wished for was to have a brilliant relationship with her as he was familiarizing himself with her. "Aah...", her eyes widened as her heart beat accelerated hastily as she didn't know how she would do that. She bit her lower lip as she turned to have a glimpse of him. His eyes were glued on her and he didn't stop to look at her. She tried her best not to be shy as she stared at him too. She wanted to show him that she was courageous too and wasn't afraid of him. "Yes my wife say it now", he whispered as his voice was soft and low. He didn't want to make it too hard for her and gave her all the time she needed to say it. He wanted her to be comfortable around him and see him as her husband. He didn't want her to fear him even though he liked the way she was shy. "Thank you my husband", she mentioned finally. She couldn't believe that she was the one who had just mentioned that. Even though she was shy she tried her best to glimpse at him whenever she could. "Good my wife that's what I wanted you to be comfortable around me. I am your husband and you shouldn't fear me", he stated as the corners of his lips rose up widely. She suddenly remembered her parents words. They warned her against falling in love with him. She had to adhere to their wish and try all her best to not fall for him. She knew that it wasn't easy but had vowed to do everything possible to do it. With the way he was treating her so well she promised herself to be careful and try her level best to not fall for him. She then turned and stared at the window. There was silence between them as she was concentrating on looking on the outside. It was her first time to travel without her mother by her side. She knew that it wasn't an easy thing to do since she had to adapt life without her mother and her family by her side. "I… I thought v-vampires didn't ride in carriages," she stammered, saying the first thing her mind could think of, in her desperation to break the awkward and deafening silence. She wanted to break the silence between them and stop being bored by staring at the window. All she could see were trees and there were no people on the road since it was late at night. And perhaps, also to try and subdue her rising fear. She needed to relax. There was nothing else she could do anymore. There was no turning back so it was no use being scared now. If she wanted to survive this, she needed to conquer her fear and face her new life head on. That was the only choice left to her, to willingly lay in the bed that others made for her or suffer the consequences. When she saw a small smile curve on her husband's face, Ariana almost forgot to breathe. "That's right. We hardly ride on carriages," he replied since he was a vampire. They mostly ran and used the carriages where necessary. They didn't like using the carriages since they were extremely slow compared to the way they would run. They ran so fast like a deer and almost ran faster than the deers. "T-then why…" she trailed off realizing that it was definitely because of her. Her fear somewhat lessened, knowing that this vampire prince, her husband, was at least being considerate. But then she remembered this was part of the deal. The vampires, especially her husband, were now responsible for her. They were to watch over her and keep her safe whether they liked it or not. Still, Ariana was glad that at least her husband, the prince, decided to be the one to accompany her on this journey. "T-thank you, y-your highness". His immediate response was a soft sigh. "Ariana," he called out and she didn't know why but she caught her breath. The sound of her name spoken by him suddenly sent a strange and weird feeling through her. His voice was so soft and made her name sound so good. She couldn't believe that she was the one thinking of that since he was just a stranger to her. His brows creased, causing Ariana to subconsciously flinch. "Yes". Surprisingly, this somehow wasn't as hard as she imagined. Ariana never once thought she would one day find herself married to a vampire, a creature she, and every human, grew up believing to be a monster. She had expected she might not be able to speak at all to her husband without trembling but somehow, conversing with him wasn't as dreadful as she thought. She was tense and stammering but she was glad, she wasn't muted because of fear and she wasn't trembling before him as she had thought she would be. "The vampires promised that no one, I, your husband, included, could lay a finger on you without your consent. Your father and those human emperors made us take that vow. I'm certain you know that vows are sacred to us. We rarely make vows because we don't break vows. We can't," he said suddenly without looking at her. His eyes remained closed. "That should be enough to ease your fears." She bit her lip but before she could say anything, he continued. "I'm your husband now" His voice became a little firm. But then, he opened his eyes and leaned closer to her. He stared so deeply into her eyes that she couldn't turn her gaze away even if she wanted to. Why? Why did he have to look this gorgeous? "Let me remind you again that as your husband, I personally vowed to protect you. So stop flinching every time I speak to you…" he trailed off. "I don't like it when my wife keeps flinching as if I'm going to attack her every time I speak." He didn't like the fact that she was afraid of him. He wanted her to be fond of him and be comfortable when he was around her. Since she was a young girl, she was taught that vampires were monsters who viewed humans as nothing but food or slaves. She grew up believing they were humanity's notorious enemy. Vampires and humans had been mortal enemies since she could remember. She heard that Vampires saw themselves as the superior creature and wanted to rule over the humans, treating them like they were their slaves and food.
