Kim kept herself out of the way beside the sliding glass doors out to the deck once they got back inside, watching everyone else get themselves situated while she caught her breath.
Well she tried to, at least.
She had the feeling all she’d be able to manage tonight was keeping anyone else from noticing how upside down her insides felt after that kiss.
No, upside down didn’t come close to covering it. Drifting loose and entirely disconnected was more like it. Cut free of their moorings by the turbulence set up between her heart and parts of her a lot lower down.
Parts that had taken over her whole body at once, including the lump of useless goo taking up space between her ears at the moment.
