Kim tried to open her eyes and winced, groaning low in her throat. She had an idea she should keep quiet, but she couldn’t remember why.
Her head twisted and beat and throbbed badly enough that she had no idea where she was, much less how she’d gotten there.
Something cool and kind of clammy under her cheek finally got her moving.
A sharp edge biting into her wrists stopped her, along with the sharp ache of having her arms twisted behind her back.
She forced her eyes open and rolled and pushed and struggled to get herself upright at the same time, driving a gut-twisting nausea through her head and body.
