Chapter Four
Valtina expected a warm, congratulatory welcome from Ladaya. After all, she’d just successfully completed her third assignment. She’d defeated a succubus and rekindled a true love match, all in less time than her first, easier assignment. But there was no joy or pride in Ladaya’s face when she arrived for Valtina’s report. She looked more frustrated and disheveled than she had the previous day.
“You did very well Valtina,” Ladaya sighed with exhaustion.
