Lea hesitated, her right feet hovering in the air as she awaited for the disturbed silence to quiet down. Though the short walk between their rooms, sneaking from her bedroom to her vampire's felt like conquering the greatest of feats. It was as scary as it was exhilarating. Finally reaching the intended door, Lea felt like she could finally breathe. The door opened and revealed her aunt on the other side. Lea still found it hard to believe that the gorgeous woman before her was her vampire mate. Her soul mate for all eternity. The thrill of just knowing so made her want to scream in euphoria, but Lea stood rooted in place as the vampire's gaze physically bore into her. The eyes were dark, deep and beautiful, like a night in the countryside. "I just..." Jillian took a step back, her senses aware of the other presence not too far off. The question in her mate's eyes remained unanswered as she took another silent stride backwards. "Lea?" the sound of her mother's voice broke her daze. "Mom," Lea turned to find her mother in the hallway too. How come she hadn't heard her approaching? "Why... why aren't you in... in bed." "I could ask you the same," Lenora said, closing in on her daughter. Lea seemed shocked, perplexed by her sudden appearance. Her daughter's darting eyes failed to meet her own, a clear sign that her little princess was nervous and hiding something. "What are you doing out of bed. You should be sleeping." "Mom, I'm not a child," Lea felt herself whine. "I can sleep whenever I want, can't I?" "Yes. Yes you can," Lenora assured her daughter as she came to a stop before her sister's open bedroom door. "Jillian," Lenora acknowledged. "Lenora," Jillian nodded curtly to her sister's silent greeting. The stare the two vampires held had the hairs on Lea's body stand in attention. "Mom go back to bed," Lea spoke as she tried to act as nonchalantly as possible. Kissing her daughter's temple, Lenora brushed her daughter's hair smoothly, "Why don't I tuck you in too, princess," Lenora tried coercing. "Mom, I'm twenty three," Lea answered, a little flustered by her mother's offer, "But thank you. Besides, I'm sleeping with Aunt Jillian tonight." Lea pecked her mother's cheek and stepped past the door's threshold and stood by her aunt's side. She wasn't going to return to her room, the bed was too big, and she hated sleeping alone when her mate was only a door down from hers. "Why?" Despite the multiple retorts at the tip of her tongue, Lenora simply asked one word. Why? The reasons evaded her mind and Lenora simply wanted to know. "Because I like it," Lea simply shrugged. Her head turned to gaze at her aunt, who looked ethereal in the soft glow. Lea was immediately entranced and she continued to stare. It was as if the lighting was stroking her aunt's beautiful porcelain skin. The short silk sleeping gown her vampire had on revealed a pair of long sexy legs that she wouldn't mind kissing her way up. Lea swallowed audibly as she double took the glorious sight. A throat cleared and Lea turned to find her mother staring at her oddly. "And... and I sleep better with her close mom," Lea added, and took her aunt's hand. The woman next to her was oddly quiet and it worried Lea. "Is there something I should know?" Lea squeezed her vampire's hand at the question. Her thoughts raced, weighing the pros and cons of coming clean to her mother. Was it the right time to tell their family? "No," Jillian answered for both of them, "Nothing that I'm aware of. Right angel?" Lea looked at her vampire as her internal debate came to a wind. No, definitely not the right time to share the great news. Hazel sighed and seconded her aunt's reply, "Um... sure. Nothing mom. Goodnight." "Goodnight to you two then." Lenora halfheartedly accepted the dismissal of her daughter. Her turn was heralded by the sound of the door shutting behind her. Lea's hesitant response raised more questions than the answers she was seeking. ~~~~~~~ Hazel shifted at the sound of the bedroom door opening and closing. She blindly patted the spot beside her and found it empty. Her wife was no longer in bed with her, but was close by, Hazel could sense. 'Love?' Her telepathic call was answered by the feel of the bed dipping next to her. "Where were you?" Hazel asked groggily. "Went to check up on something," Lenora answered as her mate shifted and rested her head on her chest, cuddling her. The vampire had heard faint footsteps and went to investigate despite fully knowing what she would encounter. "You sound off," Hazel murmured. The hard tone in her vampire's voice was impossible to miss even in her half asleep state. "What's wrong baby?" "I came across our daughter sneaking to go sleep in her aunt's room, again," Lenora revealed sorely. "Claims she sleeps better with her." "Oh, Lea does that a lot," Hazel murmured, unfazed by the revelation. At this point, she'd stopped reprimanding Lea for doing so. Hazel had learnt quickly that their headstrong daughter didn't listen to reason when it came to her aunt, Jillian. "I don't think your sister seems to mind it. They do it a lot. It's a hard habit to break, baby." "She turned down my offer of tucking her in, Cara Mia," the vampire voiced grumpily. "My little princess always loved it when I tucked her in and read her Rapunzel, snow-white and what's it..." Hazel laughed softly and raised her head to get a look of her vampire. With them constantly sharing blood most of her senses had been elevated, including her vision. "Our daughter's twenty three, love. I think Lea is past the bednight stories and tucking in phase, Lenora. Wait, is that why you sound mad, baby?" "No." "Oh love," Hazel cooed and kissed her wife's sculpted jaw. "I think that's why you're upset. But don't be. She's a big girl now. And why are you in this?" Tugging against the robe's ties, Hazel successfully had them come undone and her hand slipped past the silky confines to find the body that had devastated hers not too long ago. "Ready for another round?" Hazel sensually asked her vampire. Her fingers caressed the hair at the base of Lenora's neck. A sure bet move that always roused her wife. Lenora smirked and pushed her mate down onto the bed whilst also discarding her robe. She was always ready and eager to please her wife. Leaning downwards, the vampire's lips found the beating pulse of her mate's throat. "I love you," Lenora murmured as her tongue and lips slowly trailed to her mate's heaving chest. "I love you so much, Cara Mia." Throes of passion and a frenzy of delirious emotions were consuming Hazel whole, but the need to utter her own devotions pushed her forth. Before she succumbed to her vampire's devastating touch, Hazel managed to voice out her own adoration to her mate, "I... I... love... I love you too, Lenora."
