A NEW NEIGHBOUR
It's Sunday morning, and Sundays are always the same for me. No school, no stress- just my morning run, reading books, completing my assignments, and watching movies all day.
Mom and Dad are always busy with work, som I'm left alone at home most of the time. I don't even mind anymore. I'm used to it.
It was such a lovely morning, The sun was out, the air was fresh. I got up, went to the bathroom to wash my face, brushed my teeth, and grabbed my workout clothes. I picked my favourite fitted leggings, a crop top, my headphones, and tied my hair into a ponytail. I was ready for my run
As soon as I stepped out of my gate with my music playing, I stopped. Our next door neighbour, Ms. Emma, was outside with boxes everywhere. A moving truck was parked in font of her house.
My heart dropped.
"Ms. Emma ?"I called out, taking off my headphones. "Are you... are you moving out?"
She turned and smiled at me, that same warm smile she always had. "Oh, my dear! Good morning. Yes, sweetheart. We got transfer. we're leaving today "
I couldn't beleive it Ms. Emma was the kindest woman on our street. And her daughter, Emily- I love Emily. She's so smart and cute. she was like a little sister to me.
"I can't beleive you are really moving out. I'm going to miss you both so much,"I said, trying not to sound too sad.
"We will miss you too, dear. You were such a lovely neighbour ,"she said and hugged me.
I helped her carry one small box to the truck and waved as they finally drove off. The street suddenly felt so empty and quiet.
With a sigh, i put my headphones back on and continued my run to the gym center. I needed to get some exercise done to clear my head and get fit. At least my Sunday routine was still the same.
What I diddn't know was by the time I returned from the gym, a new truck would be parked in Ms. Emma's compund, and my worst nightmare of a neighbor would be moving in.
Little did i know my peaceful days were about to be over forever.
