BONITA ARRIVED AT BUNDEENA at 09:00 with her daughter in tow and all her paraphernalia. The car was full. There was a stroller, a bungee chair, a clip-on high chair, a box of books, another of toys, and her clothes for the weekend. There was another bag for miscellaneous items: her precious stuffed toy called Ducky Bear, her favourite blanket, formula, night nappies, a child’s laptop computer and a picture of Papa Duck. And, lastly, a bag of cute little shoes. Andy excitedly met them at the driveway and helped Bonita haul in Megan’s stuff. ‘It feels like we’re having a garage sale,’ she remarked.
